I love that you made a deal in depth tutorial for this, I see a lot of it online but not in depth on how to do it
a little trick i learned in body school you can buy powdered guide coat or spray black paint at a 3-4 ft distance dusting on the object before wetsand, with a foam sanding block the black specs stay in any low areas. little to no hand pressure and it will be glass. great video
Another banger per usual
Absolutely loved your video, and I have watched a LOT of these. Tons of great info and you explained it really well. Thank you!
Nice job. I appreciate how you explain exactly what will be done and what to expect realistically. So many other videos tell you things like "Let's show you how to get a perfectly smooth finish with only a little sanding" and then halfway through they are talking about "So after filling and sanding 15 times all the way to 10000 grit we can still see some layer lines, but only minor ones". Thanks again.
Thank you for this awesome comment I truly hope the video helps!
It definitely has. Keep them coming!
This was a great tutorial! I'm just starting out in the 3D print world, and always appreciate when people take the time to break down steps and processes like this!
Thank you for your comment it means a lot!
Gloss black before the gold will make the gold pop 👍🏻
This one hit the mark as always!!!
Thank you that means a lot!
@@ImperfectBuilds keep the amazing/ informative videos coming 🙌🏾
Good job - thank you!
Great vid!
Big takeaway: dont make it too runny or its gunna be runny but its ok if it runs.. 😅😅😅
It’s may have got a little confusing there for a second 😂
Nice work man.
great vid!
Great work! Did you sand after bondo just before you primed it?
I got the body filler bondo thinking I would use it for stuff like this. Pain in the butt to mix with the hardner. I then saw this existed. I KNEW it was gonna be perfect for 3D print! Nice video.
Also, just a tip, paint gold over gloss black. It will pop WAY more. Painting directly on grey primer is going to dull it out a bit.
Yes when I was searching I stared with the hardener stuff it dries way to quick and is more of a headache than anything! Thanks for the tip and comment!
Got a lotta value out of this vid so I subbed. One suggestion for the metallic gloss would be to paint it black first than clear coat before the metallic gold for that real shine.
Good info
esa masilla no la encuentro en España, cual puedo usar aquí? saludos.
Did you sand the bondo before priming?
Does priming before sanding make it sand better? Or did you for this just so we can see the results better? And will this work just as good for PETG?
So I had painted this originally because I wasn’t gonna sand it or mess with it but I decided to used it as the example for the video. I would recommend sanding first that way your not using more paint than you need to and save on costs cause even with using a filler primer you may have some deep layer lines so I always sand first then go to to Bondo and Acetone then prime. I have not tried it on PETG or ABS but I’m sure you would have similar results but those 2 materials will take more work to sand as they are stronger and more heat resistant! Hope this helps!
Great job man. I can use this technique in abs and pla?
I haven’t used it with ABS but I’m sure you can it’s same concept ! works great for PLA and PLA+
Did you prime it as soon as the bonds dried or did u sand it and THEN prime it?
I lightly sanded the Bondo to achieve a smooth surface making sure there wasn’t any high spots rinsed the dust off and then primed you don’t have to go crazy when sanding the Bondo because it applies thin enough that it’s already pretty smooth and your gonna end up sanding the primer once you have primed it I prefer wet sanding working from about a 600 grit up to and 1500 after it’s primed that’s what I used to achieve the final result in the video I wouldn’t wet sand the Bondo I’d use a 220 grit to sand the Bondo it’s rough enough to take it off quick but you’ll have good control with how much your removing any lower and you might take off to much. Hope this helps
Should you wear a mask during the acetone and bondo stage, or just during sanding and spraying?
Definitely it is just hard to talk and explain with one and I have good ventilation in my garage I wasn’t to worried but always protect your self!
I thought aceton melted or dissolved bondo? Would like to try if it really works
Great tutorial! Came from tiktok I’m Mario doing the Boba Fett Cosplay project.
Thanks Mario hopefully this helps you out can’t wait to see it finished!
Acrylic spot putty shrinks. You will see in the print months later. Use polyester glazing putty instead. (Evercoat in the can)
Nice video, I appreciated the commentary. Some constructive feedback, the mask after the Bondo and primer was still pretty blurry in the vid so I couldn't really tell the surface finish. Good vid otherwise and thanks for the info. :)
Thank you for this! Can you share what percentage of acetone you used here, please? :))
No true measurement you want it to be a runny mud consistency not to thick or it will be chunky
You don't need to mix a hardener with the putty?
@@DanielChaves1984 not with this specific Bondo product
Hey, new to your channel, info seems great. one constructive criticism, background music is really distracting and seems like something that should accompany a kids show. Thanks for the great info.!
I enjoy the goofy it’s not meant to be taken too seriously hopefully I can get a laugh out of you and give you some good information Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment.
Can I bondo a hole in my heart?
❤️🩹
Bondo? Red Putty?
i'm so worried for your lungs and your fingers 😅 you got the mask around your neck while applying bondo and 3d printers in the back.
My garage is open and I have a large fan venting off camera thank you for your concern!❤️ I usually wear my mask it’s just hard to talk with it on🫣
You don't even know how to use props and shoot your subject. Not to mention post-processing.
You amater.
