Thanks for watching everyone! Sorry we're so behind schedule, these clips are from games played in 2022. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless and happy holidays
Awesome to see so many engineer clips :) I remember when a few years ago most clips were airshots by soldier/demo or team wipeouts by sold/demo/scout. Great to see that after years the game is not only alive, but also seems a bit more varied :)
awesome video dude. really brings me back. this game has some awesome history! its great that youre still around eXtine :) thank you guys for the video
I used to play TF2 all the time, but I haven't played consistently in years. These plays make me feel like I'm a super newbie like it's 2008 all over again.
at number 12 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 11 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 10 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 9 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 8 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 7 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 6 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 5 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 4 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 3 we have a bot headshotting someone at number 2 we have a bot headshotting someone AND at number 1 we have a bot headshotting someone
Yeah we're behind. Lots of work and personal things delayed things, this isn't my full time job :) The clips are submitted in that year this case 2022 so technically the earliest possible to make this is later in January after the December episode is finished. I could always name it the month/year its released instead but that feels less real, but people always be complaining even if it's technically on time. Like I couldn't release a 'plays of january' in january since january isn't finished yet.
Here's my review of this video (but mostly of the clips). Do note that I'm not the target audience, as this is likely more for the comp-focused player who's actually interested in "good plays". I am more casual-focused, haven't played TF2 in a while, and more interested in cool moments and skill. I'm really only making this comment because I saw a lot of comments saying "insane plays", "banger", etc. and disagreed, as well as because this video was featured in a TF2 news post and I felt the need to give some review of the content. And to counteract this mostly-negative comment, I've also given the video a like, as well as saying that this video may not be my type of video, but it's still well made and the creator shouldn't feel like my comment is indicative of some greater belief held by many people. I am just the loud minority who shouldn't even be here right now. Anyways, here's my review: The animation is cool, but a bit overdone, considering it's played in between every clip, as well as at the very start and end. #12: That airshot was unexpected, both to me and to Raelen apparently lol. Bit boring, but that's why it's #12 really #11: That sentry jump into medpick was interesting, but it's unfortunate that they couldn't get more kills. Not much really going on, but game-wise this was probably very important to the players, but not as much as a spectator #10: The midair market garden into airshot was neat, and probably the highlight of the video. Very fast, but really not much going on in total #9: This is just hilarious, how they just casually walked past the enemies right onto the point and backcapped. Definitely a top pick of this year's clips overall #8: I'm just confused. They basically just went to engi, tried to trick the enemies into staying away from the point, then switched to soldier and killed the remaining enemies. Clutch gameplay, but not really interesting. It took listening to the audio for context to hear that they won the round, but even then it's really just lackluster #7: The engi just built a sentry (as engis are known to do) and shot at the enemies. No cool movement, no cool kills, just preventing cap with a sentry. Just lackluster gameplay really #6: So the medic just stayed back, didn't really get shot at at first, then got a cap because the scout ran off point and the soldier accidentally rocket jumped outside the trigger. Interesting moment, but only the luck is the interesting part, no skill required #5: The sniper sniped while their teammates provided distraction. I'm assuming they won (no visual indicator present, so I can't be sure), but otherwise not that interesting, just stuff that is expected of comp players #4: Long and slow clip of an engi bringing their level 3 sentry with them, killing a few players here and there, and making it to last, only to die and for a random scout to come in with the victory. I'd say the scout stole the win, which is the highlight of the clip. Just kinda boring really #3: Soldier did their duty of doing the rollout, then hitting a medpick with a market garden. Obvious, and really just kinda boring because you can see it coming from a mile away. How they weren't expecting it, I'll never know #2: Spy went in, got two normal backstabs, surfed a rocket into backstabbing the soldier, then matadored a medic, finally running away while surfing a mini's bullets. Okay play, probably helped them go on to likely win the match, but not that interesting to me. I might just be too bored of spy clips, because I probably would've loved this clip a year ago, but now it's just boring compared to the crazy surfs that some people get, especially when they surf into a stab then surf to get away #1: The luck that one would need in order to get a triple juggle with two different people at the same time is insane, but I feel like the taunt afterward kinda soured the clip a tad bit. The pick was a great play, but not an interesting clip Overall, the clips might've been good plays as the title suggests, but they're not really good clips in my opinion. Only #12, #11, #10, #9, #3, #2, and #1 are okay clips, but only #10 and #9 I feel are worthy of being called the Top. Game-wise, #11-4 and #1 are definitely top "plays", but just lackluster as clips. This is definitely not a video targeted toward people like me, but there's definitely an audience for it. Well made video, but the clips aren't for me
_"Luck(y)"_ and _"Luke"_ are both code for Lucifer (ditto Lucy, Lucien etc), so Lucky Luke-the name of a 1980s French cartoon-is a pretty curious name ;p
Thanks for the compilation, I remembered doing the same thing 13 years ago. Highlights are, of course, cool, but nothing compares to teamwork and the pleasure of fighting with an equal opponent.
That triple-double juggle, animal style, god damn beautiful.
Clear number 1 too. VERY hard to top that
its actually a fake clip, friends watched the match and it was staged looool
Thanks for watching everyone! Sorry we're so behind schedule, these clips are from games played in 2022. Hope you enjoy it nonetheless and happy holidays
I mean not really behind schedule it's only about a year behind. Funny this was headlined on Steam Community
Amazing year of highlights. Thank you for putting these clips together. You are one of the reasons the tf2 community is amazing:)
Thank you guys for all your work. Been playing since 2008 and I thought I've seen everything. Then the triple-double airshots. Insane in the brain
Shoutout to you guys for all the work you put in, always excited to see a new post.
Nice seeing multiple engie reps. :D
2022? Last Years?

Am I the only one thinkink number 10 should be WAY higher? That market gardener-airshot combo was insane.

Always nice to see another Video.
Happy Holidays to you guys and have an amazing New Year!

Played the hell out of this game in 2009. Awesome to see it's still alive and well. I don't recognise so many weapons and maps now though
that FJ engi jump was down right disrespectful
after this and the plays of the decade im convinced this guy does NOT like demo players

i came here just to dislike after seeing the TF2 steam announcement ❤

alr when is tf2 plays for 1942 next?
oof idk valve time
where is 2023??
YEAOW
WHAT is england? Heard abt GB?
People submit from what country they prefer. I just use that. Some say England, some UK/GB. It's not the same thing.
Should it be 2023?

2022???
The wild piggie clip was amazing. Perfect aim
Absolutely spoiled with all these Engineer plays. I think that Karoshi clip is my new all-time favorite
temrane just pulled off every Medic's dream play; a play that I have yet to achieve myself, unfortunately...
Omg so gooooood

hell yeaaah
Hell yeah. I was hoping that fugazi's airshot would make the #1 spot for 2022's frag of the year
I love the video, pretty cool clips but I’m wondering if he really even plays tf2

That last play, my jaw is on the floor.
If I got Gardened and then air shot, I'd leave the server out of respect.
LuckyLukes been dropping bangers recently.
That spy at #2 should be the play of the year... wow
