Who am I?
Expert singing teacher, specialising in teaching children and young adults in singing and musical theatre. She has worked with the likes of The Saturdays for MTV, on shows such as Just the Two of Us for the BBC and many more. Throughout her years of teaching she has judged in many competitions, judging Lucy Spraggan, George Samson, amongst others who have gone onto succeed in the business.
I am the founder of Vocaltutor, (founded 2003) the UK’s largest vocal and singing tuition network and now The New Foundry Studios which opened in 2013.
I have worked with BBCTV on Just the Two of Us, with many celebrities including Natasha Hamilton of Atomic Kitten, plus has worked for ITV on many children’s TV programmes including The Worst Witch, as their vocal coach.

@@mrmana09 sia and selena r people that make me wanted to learn sing even more, at first i try to learn sia technic to be loud, fast vibrato with vowel modification and emotional with husky crack, I tried but i dont think am good at that "little bit deppresion but its alright I can find another artis as material to learn😅😭, in that time i never really follow selena music until i heard "sober" i fell in love with her emotion and her soothing head voice so I try to found more Selena best live video on UA-cam and then I found Selena best live singing "dream" I fell in love with overall performance and of course her long fallsetto in the end, and then not long from time, Selena release single with marsmello and I think that the best Selena song coz its really is showing how Selena voice character sound like and the instrumental really match her color.
so i tried to combined sia and Selena voice which is -little airy -high airy headvoice -modification vowel and -voice crack tht sound little airy( so many "airy word" 🤣.since am not a girl so its impossible for me to have husky crack😅), I tried to not overdue the crack for making more realistic and still have the emotion. from tht time am still following her untill now. I don't care if someone say Selena can't even reach high note she scream at high note or sometimes sia can too hurt to hear in high note, but to me thats what anger sound like very emotional and pure. And I don't think Selena is the type of singer that should reach high note, usually she use her head voice than scream. Like in "past life" and sound really good.

i’m seeing a few people mention lip syncing but selena drops her mic multiple times in this performance & all you can hear is backup singers singing in a completely different style than her. georgina watched the whole video & if she even had the slightest doubt that selena was lip syncing, i know she would’ve mentioned it, but she didn’t, because it’s clearly selena & her backup singers singing live.
I'm pretty positive she was singing live.
I think the moment when she's belting "sober" is lip synced because there's the exact same track every single time she sings this song live
He's her lobster 98 no, I know the edit you are talking about but it’s false. Even in this video you can see the second time she belts the sober note was a lot stronger than the first and even Georgina smiled when that happened. Selena has even skipped the note while in Asia I think so you can hear how it sounds like without her voice
@@HonestVocalCoach I love her so much but I'm pretty sure this is pre-recorded. I watched so many performances of this song from this tour and each time, every single "live" note sounds exactly the same. Same for the Same Old Love performances.

Clearly, she's singing live and there is no Lip Syncing...For people who think she is no nothing about a live performance. Selena Gomez may not be the best vocalist in the world but she still has a pretty voice and it carries well live.
And something very important for a singer is that she knows how to reach your heart with her music and her voice.
It definitely is live. You could hear it. She gives good vocals sometimes, she's just isn't consistent.

She has a rare voice, And I love her voice so much, and The way she sings is special.
I love so many singers but none can beat Selena for me . I dont think selena has voice like other famous singers. I like ariana as well but with ariana every song sounds same to me at some point i dont feel sad or happy just the feeling i lostened to a good song. The first tym i listened to heart wants what it wants i felt it, i felt the pain. I just cant describe it. That is when i became a selena fan. She touched my heart with her music. I cried to her songs, danced to them, felt naughty, peaceful. 7 years ago i listened to songs that were famous or high pitched but now i listen to songs that speak to me. That makes me smile, cry and love. I didnt feel anything with her early songs like tell me something i dont know , round and round. It starts with revival that feeling. Anyone who does not like selena just close ur eyes and listen to revival. No she is not a great singer, no there is no high pitch, but u know what u wont regret ever and remember what u heard and felt when u listen to that album.i think i wrote too much but i had to say this cause i wish every one could feel music than just listen to it.
Sober it's not actually about being sober, it's about being conscious about commitment, not just in romantic relationships, cause there are some people that only like you when it's convenient 🖤
No,it's about being sober "when the bottle is done,you pull me closer" it means that he shows "love" to her just when he's drunk, once he is sober he behaves differently.
I truly like Selena. I don’t get why people criticize her so harshly. Everyone has their ups and downs but she is a genuine artist just like everyone else.
She can sing very well when she's comfortable, she has many great performances like this on the Revival Tour you should check them out

i am so tired of people always searching for bad things in her performances. it seems like this is all they're looking for while watching her. i love her voice, i love her tone. she touches my heart like only a few people do. and that's what music is about, it's not just technique. you need to have a soul, and hers is sparkly and beautiful.
She have The most soft voice ever. Such a unique tone that actually can be very powerful if she wants and this songs is the proof. She also can be very agressive, I also recommend that you go and see Come & Get It live (revival tour)

Selena Gomez may not have the best voice ever, the best performances, or music that everyone enjoys and that's ok. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I myself am not a Selena Gomez fan. I do think that people give her way too much hate on her voice though. Selena has a decent voice, for the style she does. Stop expecting Selena to sound like beyonce or something. Selena just needs more training in some areas and that's okay, not every singer is flawless 24/7. Not everyone is going to be perfect and hit all the notes like beyonce or queen did, and that's perfectly okay though. Everyone makes mistakes and has their off days, because we're humans not robots. For example: If someone messed up once on a science project, it doesn't mean that they can't do it. They can if they put more effort into it and study better next time.

Selena had a wonky start, but she’s grown so much and so has her voice/performance skills. I love the sound and tone of her voice, and y’all can stay mad that she actually sounds good live here. Everyone has the ability to build their voice up and get better. This is definitely not lip syncing. And also, anyone can be forced to grow up fast, but celebrities go through a lot of intense things at young ages. It’s sad she’s had to overcome so much, so young, but I’m beyond proud of her. Its a sad thing that a "comback" is a thing for a singer who was probably about 23 or 24 when this performance was made. She does well. Arenas and Stadiums are not always the best places to be used as music venues. I could hear the drums and their echo more than the rest of the band/track and as hard as she tried I think much of her sound was lost due to the scale of the venue. I also feel sorry for singers being expected to wear very little, get a wind machine in the face and be expected to dance around too. Its a hard job for an entertainer in sittuations like this, probably more so than it would have been in the past.
