Good review. My take is to add the limiting straps and/or the bump stock mod inside the shocks and that will solve the end rod problem. Simple and inexpensive. Back that up with the aluminum back brace. Secondly, I never understood people who want to pay $500+ for an RC and then crush it with 50’ jumps at a skate park. Then these people get upset about something breaking? Have fun and treat your rigs with respect and they’ll hold up.
Just got it, sent it, broke the upper tower in the back. But NO regrets I freaking love this thing--I knew it was going to break, that is the point is to send it, I love how it rotates 15 20 ft in the air, I think if you where into BMX Skateboarding and got old And you want to have a similar feeling this is for you--its made for skate parks and loves BMX tracks ones with big air jumps--best purchase I have made in a long time Awesome. After I fix it I need to practice with a smoother landing. Jb weld and zip ties are holding up good, but I am going to toughen it up.
I really like your comment, I have to say that I drove it 5 times and it broke down 5 times. Push ends, rod ends, shock ends, centre drive shaft, 3x servos... it's the biggest mistake I ever made buying an RC car. It's way to expensive and it's not a solid car.. first jump and the fun was already over. In fact , which fun at all.. it cost me almost 900 euros to drive this thing and I was shocked that it didn't hold it for 5 minutes. The first 6 months I've driven 5 times, after this I totally disassembled the car and I put it back together like it should. After this I could drive it for hours, at least if the electronics let me to 😂 no more traxass for me. I prefer my tekno eb 48.4 and my hotbodies d8t brushless conversion.. just my opinion and experience. Great job on the channel msm, I like it
And this my friends is why I airbrushed a couple Pro-Line Rat Rod bodies, added Pro-Line Road Rage Wheels and made it into a street cruiser. I have my Brushless E-Maxx , Pro-Line MT, and Arrma Granite 4x4 BLX for the Rough stuff, I have my Summit and my E-Revo 2.0 for the laid back chill days.
Love your video. I just got my e-revo in the mail, and you nailed the points I needed to know about maintenance, care, where to start w batteries, and what parts to keep on hand. New discover on board 👍
I was a little unsure if I should buy the Revo 2.0 but I ended up buying it and I’ve had good luck with mine so far (going on 4 months of owning it). I did do the rear aluminum brace with limiting straps mod. I also upgraded to the Hot Racing aluminum steering assembly and aligned my servos. I did all the upgrades and alignment before I ever ran it. So far I have not broken anything yet.
I had a E Revo 2.0 and I end up selling it since I was spending more time working on it than driving it, Then I bought the Kraton 6s and it was the best decision I ever made
Koen De Donder nice, I also have one of the new Losi tenacity DB pro and that thing is really good for racing at the track, maybe not as good as a tekno but I haven’t broke anything and I drive it quite often
@@cchhiillaannggoo nice, losi is a great brand to.. I know the car, here at the local track someone drives the older model of the losi. It's a great hobby, its just a shame that traxass doesn't do a thing to make their cars better.. the one and only thing that traxass does is going to court.. they fucked hpi and arrma big time
Koen De Donder yeah the only car that I actually enjoy driving it and it doesn’t break often is my X Maxx 8S I had it for around 7 months and maybe I got lucky and I’m still running stock electronics and on top of that I haven’t had to replace anything since nothing has broken yet , the only thing I actually did was changing the gearing to 20/50 for more speed

Old video but he is spot on when he said I maybe wouldn't recommend this to someone that is just getting into the hobby. My first hobby grade car was the first e-revo 6s.... which was a monster, that you couldn't control, and broke when you just looked at it. I broke that thing almost every time I ran it, not even kidding, and I wasn't even crazy hard on it. I sold it for a loss and stayed out of RC ever since and I swore I'd never come back. But then came...X Maxx... which I didn't even know about until 2021 because I swore I was done after my E-Revo 1.0 experience. Personally I don't think this new E-Revo 2.0 is going to cut it either like the reviewer said. I think it's a fun car but one you're going to be fixing a lot especially when you compare it to the durability of an X-Maxx. I do love the E-Revo style though... I thought maybe Kraton 8s would be dope but it's durability isn't that great either and expensive to replace bent metal chassis. I just don't think they are quite there yet on making mid to high range e-revo style cars... if I bought an e-revo it would be the 1/16 scle...lol I am not even kidding. So I had it for the collection and had that style but not dumping tons of cash fixing it all the time
Im tossing up either the erevo or the maxx, my son currently has a slash 2wd and its awesome fun. I like the look of the erevo better and it just seems to be faster. Not sure i can justify the cost of the xmaxx. So far all we have broken on the slash is the servo, and it cops a flogging.
Nice vídeo as usuaI Mark. I got the Maxx and the 2.0 too, and I’m also prefer the 2.0... I reinforced the rear push rods with carbon fiber and the car became much more resistant (there is a video on my channel if you want to see how). I used that trick to put another rubber stopper inside the aluminum part and the caps now hold up too. His handling is very good, I even use it on an asphalt track!
I worked at a hobby shop were we replaced a customers differential for them. Within the afternoon he was back and none too happy. Mind you what he did to break it might have been another thing. But for stuff to still break on them still on a V2? And here in Aus they are close to 1k. I think here locally the sticker shock puts people off more.
That's unfortunate. Have you tried getting a refund from gopro? If they claim their products can go through this type of abuse they might give you a refund/ partial refund
Wasn't particularly their fault, its tough but not as tough as I thought. I think the main reason was that the car was quite heavy, so when it spun it hit way harder than expected
At "5 minutes from now" video has 6 more minutes 🤣 Great review 👍. I just got one 2nd hand with upgraded servo, charger, etc. I am loving this truck so far.
I got back into the hobby a few months ago with a Tekno EB410 and I now have three Tekno vehicles. I've always liked Traxxas stuff and wanted a E-Revo for years but never got one. I may get one since I'm not able to race any of my Tekno stuff and I don't want to tear them up, lol.
I just got mine a week ago and have cartwheeled it down the street at 35+ twice. Luckily nothing broke! It seems really well built to me but I know everyone has there own experiences with it. I had a rustler vxl 2wd and I was always breaking parts on it. It broke way more and with way less than wrecks than the revo. Just saying.

Hi Mark, you said the ERovo is not your one and done car. Which one would it be? The MT410 - ok it's a kit - or another one? Please let me know. Thanks. Greetings Tino
Love ur video Mark..big fan of urs.. I jus started in this hobby. Got a Traxxas Rustler 4x4 rustler vxl as a first RC.. was wondering whether to get Erevo 2.0 or Arrma Kraton V4... I keep pulling my rod end on my Rustler..was thinking of trying out Arrma.. btw my Rustler are on Hobbywing Max10 SCT...
Hey, I’ve had a Kraton v3 for 2 years. It’s been nothing short of amazing. Every time I take it out and punch it on 6s it puts a smile on my face. I’ve only upgraded a few things and not because they broke but just because I wanted to put some shiny to it lol. It’s an absolute tank I’ve crashed it and landed wrong many times and it wants more. My uncle has a traxxas Xmaxx and the Kraton obviously outruns and out performs it. My first rc was a stampede 4x4 which I upgraded to Vxl and am planning to upgrade again soon. I would hands down recommend the Kraton over any traxxas and that’s coming from someone who started with traxxas and had owned several. Best of luck!
Thanks you for very good interview! In Finland that e-revo 2.0 costs 760 USD!! That why I drive with used 1.0. What servo you recommed to replace original 2?
Hey Mark, take away that the e-revo 2.0 is an electric car and that it is fast. Do you prefer the handling on the e-revo or an old school revo 3.3 nitro? I know it's apples and oranges, but i'm not talking about the convenience and low maintenance of an electric rc car compared to nitro, but the actual driving the car itself (street, bashing, track). BTW love your shows!
Would you pick this over the maxx? I've been out of the rc for awhile looking to get back into. My last one was a team associated rc10t which I still have but haven't ran it in 25 years
My Kraton 6s exb broke every run (within a few minutes) for 4 runs. All same battery pack lol. No jumps. Driving in back yard (.25 acres). So who knows ha.
Sure, I already have max6 and no problem so far if it comes to ESC. I do not have 8s battery pack so I am not sure if it can handle 8s as stock setup is very weak.
mark im interested in going single servo what protek are you running do i need conversion parts or just remove the servo link from the other side i already know about the whole cover im guessing 155t
Accidentally bought one today. I had it and a Rustler in my cart. I'm on my way to work and decide to buy the Rustler so I go into the cart and remove what I thought was the Revo and hit submit....wrong...I removed the Rustler! Instead of calling and canceling the order I said the hell with it.
Forget the rustler. I'm probably buying the rustler or the kraton 4s for my 10 year old kid. Real grown ups, 6s all day. You will not regret it. I ride Arrma, but the erevo is also a beast.
Recently i bought a 1/16 scale revo and soon had to replace the servo as it broke the first day i got it i decided to buy a savox servo since that's what my hobby shop recommend however once i got the servo in it, it will only turn in the opposite direction as you want it to go do you know how to fix a problem like this?
RC stuff Yeah, I guess it doesn’t come with the jumper due to the thin battery compartments. The car is pretty heavy and I wouldn’t think it wouldn’t perform well with a single 2s or 3S battery. A 4s pack is too thick and wouldn’t fit in the battery compartment. I do have a UDR also so maybe I’ll use the jumper from it on the Revo and see how it performs with a 3S pack.
Hi Mark, can You somehow explain why You recommend Traxxas batteries? I do not agree with You as on the market there are a lot of much better batteries than TRX. More powerful (TRX is only 25C?), bigger than TRX (I have 7200mAh) and much more cheaper then TRX (probably all of the other batteries are cheaper). What is the reason for advising weaker product, is that really fair?
In the past he says he recommends them for the simplicity of just plugging it into the charger and it just works. He likes them for his kids because he has a peace of mind that they'll charge safely.
@@ramirezbrian86 is it about only one cable or exactly as You said, no need to set up sth on the charger? I have never had any TRX batteries so I could not know sth but if it comes to mine, I just connect two cables to the charger, chose balancing mode or storage mode and that's all. Is it different from charging TRX batteries?
Hey bro in thinking about getting one of this e revo2.0 but the country where im living doesnt have a hobby shop . So I gotta order it from traxxas.com ship it to a U.S. P.o. Box then ship it to my country which costs me even more than what the car already cost. Any advice on if the traxxas site have discount offers like black Friday sale or so cause I can wait . Really could use some help on this .
Go to a minimum of 100wt shock oil, purple springs in the back and blue springs in the front, and you wont have to worry about your shocks again. The limiting strap mod is just a band aid, you have to slow the suspension speed to stop breaking the shock ends. Ive had mine for 2yrs now and havent broken anything but the spoiler mount twice.
@Geocentric mine does very good off road with that setup. Its what i call my General Mayhem setup. I have another set of shocks for the skatepark and for big air that uses 21lb extended springs and 3000cst diff fluid as my shock fluid. Its very good for those environments. When i take it trailing/crawling i put my 3rd shock setup in thats bone stock. Trailing/crawling is the only thing the stock setup is good for given the weight of the vehicle and the weight of the unsprung components, at least in my opinion. I also run 10500mah 2s and 7200mah 3s packs and have a saga mount with a 4292 motor, so mines a bit heavier than normal, lol.
Good review. My take is to add the limiting straps and/or the bump stock mod inside the shocks and that will solve the end rod problem. Simple and inexpensive.
I've got the e revo brushless edition finally broke the motor last month because I messed with the gearing
Hi Mark, you said the ERovo is not your one and done car. Which one would it be? The MT410 - ok it's a kit - or another one? Please let me know. Thanks. Greetings Tino
The servos in my erevo 2 killed each other while sitting still a few days ago
Just get a summit. It’s bulletproof. Mine is over a decade old. Only replaced a driveshaft and a rear hub over 10+years.
Best of luck!
i have this truck and i am avoiding big jumps and stuff cause the rod ends problem.
Thanks man, I’m thinking of buying one. You helped a lot.Thx😊
You said you had to replace servos? Which servos are the best to replace the 2075?
New to the channel, love the style and appreciation I see for Traxxas! Any thoughts or previous/videos on the thoughts stampede?
6s will break more.....like on the UDR. Keep it on 4s.....and you won't break so much. Great video.....need any rc fix.....props from Austin!👍
Would you pick this over the maxx? I've been out of the rc for awhile looking to get back into. My last one was a team associated rc10t which I still have but haven't ran it in 25 years
On my e Revo 1/16 I broke the survo on the first drive 🙄 but Traxxas is sending me a new one too
Can you do the traxxas maxx vs e revo 2.0 vs rustler 4x4 vxl? I can’t decide on which way I should go
It's a toss-up what's my favorite truck my E-Revo 2.0 or my new 8s x-maxx I just got yesterday
My Kraton 6s exb broke every run (within a few minutes) for 4 runs. All same battery pack lol. No jumps. Driving in back yard (.25 acres). So who knows ha.
Love your video great job
Off topic question. What is your full time job?
@Mark Santa Maria Can you please share the settings for your E-Revo on the traxxas link app? Txs!
Hey mark! What is a good single servo for the erevo? And do you need an external BEC or is it just pluging it on the reciever?
Where can I get that wheel an tire package for my T-Maxx Classic?? They look like they would be a very good crossover tire for on and offroad playing
What is a good single servo to use for the erevo?
Why not recommend the far superior Arrma Notorious?
Also the Redcat MT8E BE6S love mine! My favoriate Traxxas are the X Maxx and the Legendary 2wd Stampede!
Far superior at what? Bending the chassis?
Is there a 8S Combo that might fit the E-Revo 2.0?
Sure, I already have max6 and no problem so far if it comes to ESC. I do not have 8s battery pack so I am not sure if it can handle 8s as stock setup is very weak.
Hey can you give me advice for bashing..xmaxx or revo 2.0?
Aloha could a max6 an 5687 motor fit in a Erevo?
If you could only have one rc from traxxas what would it be
Also how did you blow the servos?
Love the revo
Can I convert my old revo chasis to the 2.0?
Cant you buy better servos for it
Which Traxxas RC would you recommend for a first time RC owner?
Slash 2wd or 4wd best starting rc no question
mark im interested in going single servo what protek are you running do i need conversion parts or just remove the servo link from the other side i already know about the whole cover im guessing 155t
When you coming to FRC
Recently i bought a 1/16 scale revo and soon had to replace the servo as it broke the first day i got it i decided to buy a savox servo since that's what my hobby shop recommend however once i got the servo in it, it will only turn in the opposite direction as you want it to go do you know how to fix a problem like this?
All transmitters have a way to reverse steering either a switch or internal mode change.Check your manual.
Doesn't it come with a jumper plug so you can run one lipo? I know the udr does so this might
No, it doesn’t.
@@chrisg7160 really, that's odd
RC stuff Yeah, I guess it doesn’t come with the jumper due to the thin battery compartments. The car is pretty heavy and I wouldn’t think it wouldn’t perform well with a single 2s or 3S battery. A 4s pack is too thick and wouldn’t fit in the battery compartment. I do have a UDR also so maybe I’ll use the jumper from it on the Revo and see how it performs with a 3S pack.
@@chrisg7160 I feel like the erevo needs 4s minimum. It's too heavy for 3s. But thanks anyway
RC stuff Agreed.
They were 499 then maxx arrived bumbed to 549 because it made no sanse for maxx and e revo to be at the same price
499$ do you think they will go on sale again. For that price It would
Be hard to pass up.
what is a e truggy
Can you post more stuff on Nitro vehicles?
Yeah i want a review on a revo 3.3 or a 3.3 engine rebuild!!
my first gen is slick, thought bout that one but.. think mines a lil nicer..
GREAT INFO 👍. SMASHED !!!! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
e revo or maxx
Final thoughts. Buy an 1/8 e-truggy!
Rudá Bittencourt - Absolutely
It’s my first car but from what I seen I’m getting into a lot
I’ve been having mines for a year now
And does anything break?
@@eliak55 I stripped out the differential but I replace it
What are those wheels?
Nice🔥
Hey bro in thinking about getting one of this e revo2.0 but the country where im living doesnt have a hobby shop . So I gotta order it from traxxas.com ship it to a U.S. P.o. Box then ship it to my country which costs me even more than what the car already cost. Any advice on if the traxxas site have discount offers like black Friday sale or so cause I can wait . Really could use some help on this .
Thought erevo was like a truggy not a monster truck like the xmaxx
Where these at for 5 hundo??!!
Can any one recommend a decent pair of servos?
I have been using the power hd25 and love them.
Its more like a 8th scale. Its way bigger than my rustler 10th scale
We can’t get a haircut so we cut her own hair
I’m bald, so I cut my own. Lol
Should I feel blessed? Title says: Review in 5 Minutes and I got 2.20 +. 😁👍
Where are you finding this for $500, do share.
You literally said “it’s my go to truck” “it’s little league “
Your review was one of the worst I’ve seen. Keep up the good work.
