I'm driving an E-Revo 2.0 1/8 since about 1,5 years and I have to say: if I drive it I want to marry it - if I have to work on it I want to light it up 😉😄 It's very uniquely constructed - which makes it just as attractive as it is complicated at the same time. To get to the differentials, for example, you have to take half the car apart. But it's a lot of fun to drive it, backflips on ramps, wheelies and so on. In the meantime I have made a lot of modifications (other springs, other fluid in dampers and diffs, exchanged the IMO bad original Traxxas combo for one from Hobbywing (ezrun Max8 ecu plus 2000kv Motor), other servos that are faster, the huuuugee 😄 Proline Trencher X wheels,...) and now finaly it drives the way I like it best. The change I would recommend to everyone, as it has improved the handling the most, is to install the stabilizer bar set from the first E-Revo. It doesn't cost much, but improved the car's drivability by at least 50%! 4S with an adjusted gear ratio is already enough for stunts, you have a large selection of 2S Hardcase Lipo (chinahobbyline is my recommendation). In my eyes, the car has its greatest potential as a "Fun-Truck" rather than a "Speed Truggy". And I can say: I spent quite a bit of money on the modifications, but I haven't had to buy a single spare part yet. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my other cars... The Sledge is very interesting, especially the way the chassis is constructed... but not perfect either, in my opinion. It's also very expensive and I don't think the price is justified. Maybe I would reconsider if Traxxas offered the Sledge as a rolling chassis. Since that probably won't happen, I'd rather continue to ride my E-Revo and my Arrma Kraton EXB (only one rear skidplate fitted), which I have a lot of fun with a Max8 combo and jx 5932 servo for the money and has been very durable so far . Personally, I see the big announcement from Traxxas that the Sledge should be better and offer more performance for the money than a Kraton EXB as a failure. Too bad actually! (And I'm not a fanboy of any brand, I buy the car I like independently - no matter what brand it says 😉😎) Have fun and stay healthy! Greetings from Dortmund in Germany
Have both, talking about durability,E revo horizontal shocks system is much better for durabilty instead of tower for bashing, sledge is heavier and more slugish for cornering, plastic e revo instead of sledges aluminum chassis due to bending is much better option,i sold my sledge at the end...
I had a revo but sold it. It was not durable for the bashing I do. If you don't go to hard on it, it does have a nice driving style that is fun. Having problems with my sledge tho too so ahah.
Great comparison video👍 i was thinking of getting the Sledge but i have decided to pass on it. They both look great though and enjoy watching your videos!🇸🇪🇺🇸👍🙂
Is there a major difference between the motor size or are they the same? I’m looking to go 6s on my Maxx and use this system but the motor mount from traxxas TRA8960X with made for the erevo motor. Just didn’t want to buy the wrong motor. Thanks in advance.
The traxxas esc is supposed to be 80 amp with a 300 amp burst. with 2 batteries on the revo, you would never need more than a 30c rating at 5000mah. 30x5=300amps. If you have a single battery you need it to have a burst rating of at least 60c @ 5000mah
Great video man. I like the comparison between the 2 I have a erevo and love it never drove a sledge but the revo is 2+ years old and the sledge is brand new and $150 more so if the sledge isn’t better then traxxas isn’t doing it right you know?…..
The Revo was intended for Monster truck racing however the monster truck class never really gained traction. It has been in Truggy races in club circuits.
thats nice if your happy with it but you are still getting robbed those batteries are expensive and the charger doesnt put out enough amps i usally charge 6 packs at a time and my chasrger goes up to 45 amps
Just got the sledge, super regret I didnt buy the erevo… the sledge is tough but very fragile, exposed center spur and centre drive cups with the boots, stones and pebbles get in and destroy everything, all is shredded, the tires are crap disintegrated foam, the car overheats, it is way too expensive for the value it offers…
The Revo is classed as a true monster truck because the diffs are under the chassis, whereas a truggy like the sledge, the diffs are above the chassis.
Great comparison video. I’m starting to wonder if the ERevo 2.0 is going away or if Traxxas is planning a new launch of an updated version? It hasn’t been available from Traxxas for quite some time and is listed as out of stock on their website.
It's funny to see how over-engineered the E-Revo is (and not in a good way), The dual battery compartments, the dual servos, the lay-down shocks, the multi-part plastic chassis... all make it complicated. It seems Traxxas is finally moving forward from their unique, toy-like products, and trying to emulate the basher-friendly Arrma products.
Yeah, cant say im a huge fan of the E Revo's complexity. Just changing the front center shaft is a half hour job. Its a cool car, but they tried a little too hard with it 😅
Not sure I can agree - Every time I use my E-Revo (2.0) it puts a smile on my face and it's largely to do with the way it handles, which comes from the suspension geometry. To me it seems you like Arrma so you might want to say how bad Traxxas is, however for me (I own many many brands including Arrma so I feel fairly unbiased), I can say it's a great and unique truck... I definetely think there are things they could improve on, like the under chassis servo mounts for example - but the suspension geometry and battery compartments, although quirky, serve to make it a fun and unique driving vehicle.
Oh man what problems did you have with your sledge? I’ve had mine for 3 weeks ish and have no issues with it, except that the o-rings didn’t come installed for the rear axles. My local hobby shop gave me them for free. Other than that it’s been an AMAZING truck!! What are your bad experiences with it?
Sledge chassis bends .. The motor mount is junk in them .. Pinions break the spurs break . . tires come apart .. Got to say erevo 2.0 is a stronger truck out of the box .. A rod end costs under $10 a bag of them a chassis over $100

Leaving this comment here so I can come back to this when I have my erevo
still have original esc and motor in mine after 2 years!

The new Xtreme duty Traxxas plastics are bad ass. Just for rustler 4x4 hoss & slash 4x4.
i recently got raptor tires for my sledge, they are a little smaller but they perform amazing and i haven’t had them balloon at all
I would choose EREVO 2.0 any day over SLEDGE
Ready for a drive comparison… thanks👍👍👍

Sledge is a beast… though I don’t bash hard I just drive shotty… so the carnage is the same 😂😂
I’m curious myself with what talons will do to a sledge. I love the talons on my e-revo. When I get a sledge that might be a good upgrade.

on the far left? so what's in the middle, must be a stealth RC bc I don't see it
I dont get it, why is the E-Revo 1/10 scale and the Sledge 1/8? From which original does Traxxas messure it? Greets from germany.

The traxxas 3s batteries fit perfect 👍
also a big wast of money
@@pooljunki1 I don’t buy anything new LOL so there cheap
@@1994RALLY awesome but I would still prefer to use battery that I can monitor
@@pooljunki1 I have the Bluetooth Traxxas charger you can monitor everything

The Sledge is just a more expensive Kraton 6s

The esc is a little better but I still don’t like it much. It’s decent but I’d rather a max 8
👍👍✌✌
NEVER SELF RIGHT WITH EREVO,IT SHAKES MOTOR LOOSE AND DESTROYED IT ALONG WITH PINION AND MESH,MY EREVO IS LIKE A CHILD THATS SICK CONSTANTLY
Thought I’d heard the erevo 2.0 classed as a monster truck for whatever reason

my erevo is crazy i have the castle motor and esc when they came that way so its pretty damn old and still going strong way more power then my sledge
Awesome video but I'm done with Traxxas and the overpriced rcs that need attention out the box 😑
