"The hole's what broke me."
But it didn't break your grandson, now did it, Cotton?
i like that with a combination of Hank's straightforward attitude and Peggy's self esteem (both responses to really toxic parents of their own), they raised a son who is unphased by the kinds of things that any other kid would consider a nightmare. Bobby's doing pretty okay! Hes a heavyset kid with good friends who had a girlfriend at 12, that boy IS all right!
Bobby a frickin warrior.
This boy is unbreakable
His endurance is admirable
If I was Hank I'd have rushed Bobby to a clinic and gotten a restraining order against Cotton, enough would have been enough
"go on and get in your grow up box" My brother, dad and i use that all the time when were watching other shows or movies. lol.
I can now see why he likes Bobby more than Hank because unlike Bobby, he broke Hank like he was nothing.
To be fair, Hank was prolly broken from the start. He just didn't challenge his dad or the system he was raised under. Bobby on the other hand was constantly in conflict with the system, often finding humor to be his best tool. There's a reason the kid has few bullies, gets chicks and is generally well-regarded.
That mess hall scene makes my skin crawl every time.
Ya ain’t my bing bing and I ain’t ya ging ging
Bobby is secretly a badass. There should be a followup series with adult Bobby doing cool shit by day, but then a family man by night.
I assumed Bobby would be a UA-camr that made content based on grilling. Think about it. He's an entertainer with a focus on comedy, an early adopter of tech, and he's knowledgeable about food to win a state beef judging competition in middle school. Could probably find a way to get sponsored by Strickland somehow and we got a stable career.
This is why i know bobby would be ok as a adult. You cant break him, and sure he can get a bit hyper focused on certain issues like romance/intimate emotions ( traits from hank and pegs sadly) but regardless of out come he lets if wash over him.
Chilling on a block of Ice in the Texas heat, thats perfect.
if bobby was not so overweight, his mental fortitude would unironically make him a good SEAL or Army Ranger.
How did Cotton think cooling Bobby down with ice in the hot Texas sun was punishment? Now if he had punished Bobby with more heat like making him sit on a heating pack that would’ve been an entirely different story.
One of the most greatest lines cotton ever had to say was at the very end😂😂😂 3-days in a p o w camp they would just quit the war😂😂😂
He tried to break his grandson but I don't think you can break Bobby I think Bob he's so tough that he don't even notice it it's do the kid that was how strong he is and do the actually realize
"You can't build it up, but you can't break it down either. In a funny way, Mush kinda has the edge. "
Reminds me of that movie, Stir Crazy. They lock Gene Wilder's character in a box for several days and then when they release him he goes "Can I stay in a few more days?"
Bobby is also a Buddha what a stud
