I have very few regrets in life. What's done is done. But one thing I regret is that I didn't absolutely make it a priority to see Prince live. I had friends who did and they say that he was every bit as incredible as this vid shows. Sooo tight. Gathered so many fantastic musicians to him.

I am sorry to say it is true. I saw all kinds of artists live but from all of them, Prince is the only one that really made a different feel and made being there live is worth it. Prince was a true artist, one of the greatest ever.

Yes, I have similar regret. He was a one of a kind talent artist. He wrote so many great songs and the musicianship such a high standard it's hard to imagine there'd be any filler or lulls at his concert .
Rosies voice is SO freaking powerful and AMAZING !!!!! Gahhh she MAKES some of the songs honestly. Her contribution always gives me goosebumps! Absolutely beautiful voice.

I got both of those CDs 4 Christmas the year they came out. I was a kid at the time & I wore both them CDs out! 😂

I'm so lucky, English Prince fan who first found him in 82 when I was 8 years old and obsessed all my life since, saw him live each and every time in the UK since 1988 and proud to take my eldest child to Manchester in 2014

In my opinion his music post-Purple Rain is a complete departure from pop music. Every album post-Purple Rain is timeless. Sounds nothing like anything else on the radio or played by any other artist. The man is a legend.

It's not a falsetto anymore. It's the unique power to completely, utterly change your voice. Not going low or high. Change your voice, as if a different person was singing. I don't know any singer able to do this. Prince was the exception.

Prince was more than a singer, guitarist, composer, or arranger. He was an artist in every sense of the word. The man could take the elements of various musical influences and put the pieces together in a puzzle no one would have.
Surely Prince's work was distinguishable from that of others but was there truly a "Prince sound"? I say not, because while some songs were similar, one would have to perform an exhaustive search to find common threads throughout. Over his three decades of recording, Prince kept it unique and fresh; his stuff didn't get old.
Just in this piece, for instance, it's easy to spot influences of James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, and Desi Arnaz being juxtaposed with early 90s hip-hop and R&B. Who else was doing that!? Who has done it since?
Prince is the timeless embodiment of the spirit of rock 'n roll.

Thank you for posting some of these "lost" videos from Prince. Man, I remember watching this one a while back...then I know a lot of his stuff was taken off line. I realized the shit Prince was dealing with...with the age of the Internet having music and videos accessible for free worldwide...I can only imagine it made it difficult for musicians (and other artists)...and I know things are slowly changing...hopefully where everyone can find common ground, and artists can still make their money, but it sure is good to see these videos, hear this music and truly enjoy OUR artist over and over again!!! He sure is missed...and always will be.
