I cant believe Gran Turismo is doing so well in sound design for their cars and adding modifications. Its one up on Forza nearly. Only thing I wish theyd change is the sound it makes shifting up gears like the your riding on the clutch.
I agree, The game should automatically operate the clutch when you use a controller like in the previous games, it becomes annoying hearing cars change gears like that.
@@thehomieteddy You have to install a racing flywheel/clutch in order for it to shift smoothly, otherwise you have you ease off the gas when you shift.

Shelby GT350 (2015 onwards) doesn't really need an aftermarket exhaust system, given the amazing sound from factory! :) Semi-Racing sorta makes it sound like any other traditional flat-plane cranked V8, like from a Ferrari of McLaren...
well because it is a flatplane... they tried to make it sound rumbly like a good old crossplane american V8 (and succeeded IMO) but changing the exhaust would inevitably kill all their efforts

They definitely got a gt350 to record because this is exactly how they sound in person Forza Motorsport 7 would be a close second but it loses its chop if you will once you fart with the exhaust Edit you do lose the low rpm chop if you will because the gt350 is an oddball engine and uses a non traditional firing order along with, unequal length headers. Once you throw on some big bad long tubes it tends to get an interesting Ferrari v8 mixed with a coyote engine note. This is the only game to properly get that however it’s not in this video the op needs to add headers go to racing and add them

This game looks amazing. Even as a Forza fan, I can admit it. The only gripe I have is the camera. It just feels way too stiff for me. It's unsettling.
Yeah, unfortunately GT has had a terrible chase cam since GT4. You can increase the sensitivity and choose a closer angle to make it feel better, but Forza's is still more natural. Cockpit view in GT7 is MUCH improved and probably the best out there. Your head isn't bolted to the ceiling anymore and there's actual wobble.
biggest thing that always lets the sound down in ALL gt games is the shifting. once you hear it with a proper manual shifter + clutch it makes everything sound so much better.

Sounds like they’re trying to do their best with Motorsport 8. As they ARE technically rebooting the Motorsport series by ONLY calling it Forza Motorsport like the OG game. I think they’ve finally learned their lesson when it comes to rushing games out. Motorsport 7 is very good, but only after about a year after release was it at that point. They released it too early with too many bugs and missing features etc - Motorsport seems promising, so I’m very excited to see what it’s like, especially compared to GT7

It's crazy how you can say by sound that the Racing is a direct exhaust. It feels like the sound is coming directly from the engine,well done Polyphony Digital!
They should have the option able "vacuum exhaust" so we can have the good old gran Tourismo 6 vacuum cleaner sound back. (it's incredible it took the series 20 years with GT sport to finally have decent engine sounds)
Its certainly an improvement with GT7, but the midrange and upper RPMs still make it sound like a V6. Doesn't sound remotely close to an actual Coyote 5.0.

If the car is a manual w/ clutch then you’ll always have to slightly lift off the throttle and change gears for it to sound normal. It’s realistic when you use a shifter and a clutch but not when you just hold the throttle down and shift.
I just wish we could pick how the exhausts looked like cause I hate having to swap the quad tips on the Shelby for instance for a dual tip exhaust that’s the one feature I wish they also had
One thing I wish they had an option that you can change the exhaust exiting like instead coming out the back underneath the rear bumper you can have it exiting out underneath the chassis of the doors like you see in NASCAR or other racing sport you see in each industry. But I really love what Gran Turismo 7 brought to thus game.
I hope this trend of obvious engine/exhaust sound differences isn't just a one time thing with Forza and Gran Turismo. I don't know if NFS ever did something like this because I haven't played one in almost 20 years but its refreshing.
@@vfijix2225 any flat plane crank V8 is a good comparison because they’re difficult to Capture properly especially once you start modifying them. Just thinking about how many people actually throw on a full system for an F8 for example This game is on point

Also, can someone tell me which tuning compinents do actually affect your engine sound in GT7? in GT6/5It was only the sports/semisport/racing catalythic converter and exhaust system the components that affected the engine sound. Which other components do afeect it in GT7? and can you actually combine them to create a unique sound rather than just installing them and sticking to the fact that X part will give you X sound no matter whic other parts you have installed?
Obviously turbos and supers change it, and in a way anti lag changes it, and also the sounds to stack, so you can hear the turbos and the racing exhaust and the anti lag at the same time
@@impala9994 changing the bore/stroke/camshafts make small changes but all together you can definitely hear them, my r32 wilth all those changes had a more thicker sound and the engine just sounded like it idled at a higher rpm (like more vibrationy i guess)

Just like Forza Horizon 5, this car sounds better with the stock exhaust. Nonetheless, I'm glad that the cars on GT no longer sound like vacuum cleaners.
i think the reason is, for both games, the recording of most cars is done stock, and modified exhausts are simulated on top of the stock one when you install them in game. So they sound less "natural". On Forza most cars sound way better with the stock exhaust indeed.

Probably, sound designer of Gran Turismo 7, made a right decision. He used to work for Forza series as a sound designer. Forza devs (Turn 10) is pretty much corrupted these days and even Community Manager exposed of harassing other ex-colleagues, (potentially) leaking customers' info, abusing ban-hammer and harassing users. No wonder sound designer of GT7 quit Turn 10 and moved to competitor, Polyphony Digital. I'm assuming he's tired of corruption of Turn 10. I admire his decision.
The sound is exactly why I became a forza fan instead of gt. Gt has definitely gotten better but even this gt350 still has a digital weird sound to it. Almost a hint of four cylinder. Maybe it’s just my phone that makes it sound that way. As a car guy the sound is such a huge part of enjoying a car and forzas sound has always been way ahead. If only forza can have more of a realistic driving feel when using a wheel. How is gt7 with a wheel? Any hint of realism?
As much as I enjoy the Forza sound director making their way over into Gran Turismo, it also means that my biggest complaint with Forza's sound design has also made its way into Gran Turismo. The sound of a car isn't just dependent on the engine and/or exhaust, but the entire acoustics of the car itself. This is a complaint I have about pretty much every racing game though, where every car sounds the same if it has a certain engine even though IRL those cars can sound pretty different.
These exhaust notes sound like they took it from 4 different cars and recorded them at the highest quality, but then compressed the files….. they sound like how you’d expect them to in real life, but with a hint of 1990’s sound quality that’s really apparent.
So it sounds progressively worse? It sounds less and less like a gt350 very time. I'm not sure why they would do that. At some point, instead of the sound going up in pitch, it just sounds like a louder grunt. Stock exhaust sounds great, everything else, I think they got it wrong.
i loved the fact that the exhaust model actually changes, a detail missing in most racing games with customization

Their sound design is improved greatly ever since.

You need to play in cockpit view with a wheel to fully enjoy this game, the chase camera is the worst of the 4 options.
I remember you can loosen up the camera in GT sport so it looks less stiff. Idk why they took away the camera options in this game

The sounds themselves are really good, could be just a bit more raw and upshift could have a little more bite

The sound is exactly why I became a forza fan instead of gt. Gt has definitely gotten better but even this gt350 still has a digital weird sound to it. Almost a hint of four cylinder. Maybe it’s just my phone that makes it sound that way. As a car guy the sound is such a huge part of enjoying a car and forzas sound has always been way ahead. If only forza can have more of a realistic driving feel when using a wheel. How is gt7 with a wheel? Any hint of realism?

Its sounds nice in low rpm but then just sounds totally wrong in the higher revs

i wish i was able to hear these sounds but unfortunately my ps4 feels the need to turn into a jet engine whenever i turn this game on
GranTurismo started the different sounds with exhausts in GT4.. I don't think any of us took the time to actually record and show the difference..
As much as I enjoy the Forza sound director making their way over into Gran Turismo, it also means that my biggest complaint with Forza's sound design has also made its way into Gran Turismo.
The sound of a car isn't just dependent on the engine and/or exhaust, but the entire acoustics of the car itself. This is a complaint I have about pretty much every racing game though, where every car sounds the same if it has a certain engine even though IRL those cars can sound pretty different.
These exhaust notes sound like they took it from 4 different cars and recorded them at the highest quality, but then compressed the files….. they sound like how you’d expect them to in real life, but with a hint of 1990’s sound quality that’s really apparent.

Finally they fixed the car sounds cause in gt6 the cars sound like vacuum cleaners
So it sounds progressively worse? It sounds less and less like a gt350 very time. I'm not sure why they would do that. At some point, instead of the sound going up in pitch, it just sounds like a louder grunt. Stock exhaust sounds great, everything else, I think they got it wrong.
I think the racing sounds good, but sport and semi-racing.... terrible.
Why is everyone amazed by the realistic sound. It doesn’t sound like one. The tone slightly on the stock, but it’s not nearly loud and rowdy enough
