Even Ferrari Race Manager, Fred Vasseur agree that Villeneuve is sometimes wrong!

I know that people don’t want to hear it but Villeneuve is right. Daniels performances have been poor for years. He tried to go to a big manufacturer (Renault) and turning them into a championship winner but quit during his second season losing a lot of respect up and down the grid. His performances have been weak of years now and was very luck to get a seat back in F1. He is a nice guy but that’s not good enough now that’s the Aussies have another driver in F1 to support.
I was lucky enough to watch villeneuve in Indycar and F1, yes he is outspoken but he was also the Indycar and F1 champion and Indy 500 winner, he has earned his right to have his opinion.

I don't exactly remember how he formulated it, but JV said something like "Anyways he liked to live on the edge" (referring to the fact MS crashed in a place that was outside the skiable slope). It's not about stating the obvious, it's about showing humanity, compassion, and let go of the past. JV was never able to do so. He is full of resentment. He created this little angry persona that needs to bring down others to survive. Maybe because he lived in the shadow of a dad that was 20x more loved and popular than him, maybe because he keeps blaming himself for all the bad decisions he took with his career, or simply because he lost confidence after his bad hair plug job that would make Massa's a successful one. JV became this massive douche of a person that respects nobody (including his F1 commentating colleague at Canal Plus) and will always be remembered as this male version of a Karen that needs to spit in the face of drivers to stay relevant in this world. lets just see next weekend first tbh, since his new chassis he has had better pace than yuki at china (by about 3 tenths might I add), quicker at miami but had an unfortunate quali, slower at imola, slower at monaco and faster at canada. Soooooooo idkkk, we will just have to see. No doubt yuki has been better this season, all props to him, but that doesn't mean to necessarily shit on DR, for the car they have yuki and danny have both pulled insane performances out of their ass. I agree, he has made horrible decisions but why keep rubbing salt in the wound, DR would know better than anyone his mistakes and deeply regret them.

Stroll, ocon, magnussen, zhou and sargeant should all be replaced before ricciardo is, and just because ur past ur prime doesnt mean you should be replaced. By that logic alonso should be replaced, hamilton should be replaced (past his prime and getting rolled by George this season), hulkenberg should be replaced (never even got a podium). Reality is, yes DR isnt performing as he once did, but he receives an insane amount of criticism when there are other drivers who should be getting criticised. When the race was over, JV had to throw them out where no camera could catch him so that the FIA wouldn't notice. That is embarrassing for a guy who became world champion just almost a decade before that. A year later, Theissen terminated his contract because of his really poor performance. He just didn’t seem to have what it takes to push to the limit anymore. That being said, I tip my hat to all F1 drivers without exception, from champions to the last on the list.
