- Ladies and Getlemen, this is your Pilot speaking. My name is Tseno and today I have prepared another special drag race for you! This time between two very different and in the same time very closely matched rivals. The 2019 BMW M5 competition bone stock with it's 625 BHP against a F30 340i tuned to whopping 580 WHP!

Great video! Getting almost 3 sec flat 0-62mph on a RWD BMW on a cold day and not a prepped drag strip means something was done right on the 340i! More info on the car would be great including exact modifications, tires, weight reduction, launch, etc.
Thanks a lot for the positive feedback. First of all, the 340i is xdrive, so traction with summer tyres after warming up on a 9 degree celsius day was impressive. The mods done to the car are as follows: - no extra weight reduction.

It is an amazing car, but it is xdrive, not RWD! You can actually check it in the channel. there is a review of the 340 there. well, the owner had some additional goodies since then, but you will get the idea of the build.
Great build! Shame on me for not even thinking it could be an "X" haha! When I got the notification of the video I quickly jumped into the conclusion that the 340i will be destroyed in the drag race but then go back & win some roll races!
@@m3awd598 I has the edge for sure on the rolling races, but we don't do them in winter because of the lower tyre index on some cars. Rolling races will be back in couple of monts.

Amazing, that F30 is incredible, I didint expect a tough race...I thought the M5 would destroy it easily everytime
This is why I was so happy when editing and filming the episode. It was an adrenaline rush before each race! I am glad you liked it.

Bmw 340 stage 2?
As a BMW fanboy I was happy with this race;). As always the M5 Comp is one of the best cars on the planet right now so I always have high hopes for it and it never disappoints. That tune on the 340i is insane though. What a beast👌🏽

I'm rolling a BM3 Stage 2 F30 340i.With catless downpipe and Pilot sport S 4s non-run flat tires, with m sport breaks and aftermarket break pads.
Love it so much I'm gonna keep it for my daughter for another 10 years.

Absolutely mind blowing to see a RWD BMW hit 100 km/h in just 3.1-3.2 seconds! The 340i with upgrades like bigger turbos, new TCU/ gearbox overhaul , exhaust upgrades to ensure it runs 10 second 1/4 mile races?

The weight difference from a F10 M5 to a F30 N55 335i or B58 340i (stock at least) is approx 500-550 lbs give or take an option pack or 2.. That's like 50hp from weight difference with the old 10lb = 1hp measurement (which is a rough guide at best). Having owned both cars - I think the F30 is more fun on the road and track. With a FBO and tune package, it becomes a giant slayer (Slapping in that Pure Turbo is like Icing on top of Icing, on a premo cake - damn tasty). The 5 series platform is just a bit too plump for my likings after giving it a bang for a bit.
I really don’t know what to say but the F30 340i blew my mind away and on race 2 it had a better launch than the M5 thumbs up for this dude what a fantastic race one of the best races I’ve ever seen since the year has started 😅😅👍🏽👍🏽 And I wanna thank the other M5 competition for participating he made the race look even more fun straight thumbs up bro 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. I like to see a tuned BMW M4 against the M5 competition dude.

Great video. However, you must understand that winter tires really hamper the performance of the M5, that’s why the trap speed was so low in the quarter mile. Regardless the pure turbo 340 is a monster.
Good point, but actually we have filmed this exact same m5 on the exact same spot in the summer and 1/4 mile and 100-200 kph results are pretty much the same, because when heat comes in the high temp then hampers the performance. Thanks a lot for watching and I am glad you liked it! 😊

in the uk we don’t get the xdrive in the f10 5 series or 340i to only on diesel 3 series 2013-2017

Great video. I have a 440i. Im shocked on how much power you can get on a B58. Right now its stock at 320hp but, im tempted to tune it.

A tune is a must for the 440i. I got a 440i and utterly hated how sluggish it was stock compared to my old m235. I added on the MPPSK and it came alive, not bad for a factory tune w/ a warranty (getting 365ish whp / wtq). Lets also not forget the sound... B58 sounds amazing with a good exhaust.

M5 far better in every way bone stock whether 340i tuned to max or not. Tuning always seems like a good idea until consecutive repairs and engine blows from operating above factory specs

Sadly we don’t have any race tracks suitable for such events in Bulgaria and we have to travel to neighbour countries in order to do this. This is pretty much impossible now with the pandemic restrictions imposed for travel in Europe...
The thing I love about my 340i is that I can outrun most of the little 20-something ding-dongs then “turn off” the performance stuff and drive my mom around in a nice sedan.

And most likely an e50 gas mix
Thoe exact mods on bm3 stage 2+ will make 480 whp which is 576hp to the crank

B58 = The new & improved 2jz on the block! So easy & cheap to go fast with the B58 platform... with just Downpipe, hpfp, & a tune & you almost 500 whp on stock turbo, or even 500whp if on a custom E50 map

The 340i and the m5 are both real beasts! The name of the song is: Ooyy - Come 2gether.

The Tuned 340i seems to have an advantage power to weight wise. However it seems the DCT is considerably faster than the ZF slushbox.
They both have an 8spd ZF gearboxes.
@@CarswithPilotTseno Oh i forgot. But the M5 gearbox seems to shift a lot quicker. You can see the gap growing whenever the M340i shifts.
@@YouThana this is absolutely true, this m5c is 2019 with the updated software of the gearbox and as you said, it really is much qicker.

That 340 should be given a little more time to build boost on launch due to it being larger turbo it needs more time to fully spoil.

Huge fan of the f30 340 great car- had one as a loaner and made me 2011 335 feel slow- race is not really good comparison with the tunes and mods should of done it with two stock cars

I Love M so much.. I would take an M5 for sure. Especially as CS or F10 as Competition. V8 is my Engine plus the extra stiff Suspension and sharper steering and so on. So Perfect for me this Cart. But for the Coupé my Dream Car is the M4 F82.. This one is so Beautiful.. That wide thick Back and Hips 😍😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️ And then with wide Track spacers and 22 Inch concave wheels with very wide Tyres. Heaven to me.

Why is the first gear in the 340i so long? Or did it start in second gear? If i would only listen to the sound of it without watching the video, it sounds like the first gear takes the car to like 100mph
It’s second gear what you hear! To make it easy on the gearbox
