    Obviously, this video is NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. i'm not a doctor. be smart.
    I had a really down week about social media, and instead of deleting it all (which i nearly did, but then i realized that was a bit dramatic) I recorded this to share my feelings and remind myself about how i love to make content. and OMG it made me feel better. lol.
    Please subscribe and like this video. it means a lot. if you're about to write something mean in the comments, think twice and be nice. i'll delete it.

    Hey, I was diagnosed with TD1 2yrs ago. I am 47 and I am overwhelmed with so many things I need to learn and lifestyle changes aside from juggling work and responsibilities of being a wife and mom... I just discovered your posts today when I was searching learning tips for O5. I have it and will start O5 when I used up all my O-dash. I still have 5 left. I wanted you to know that I can't stop watching your videos! You are helping believe me! Sharing your experiences helped me make sense of my experiences and I just want to say thank you!!! Keep doing what you are doing!

    I came back just to tell you that yes, you are amazing. Went to your IG and blog. You do marathons! Don't let people affect your perception of your own self worth (even a little). You are doing great things by sharing your stories, successes , life and failures. There is always a T1D who is feeling overwhelmed, alone or frustrated. People like you are doing things to normalize a condition that many don't understand unless they have it. Keep doing what you're doing. 🙂

      Agree dude.. being a regular human is hard enough, take into account being a T1D, navigating insurance, your DB tech, carb counting and dosing - This is all on top of regular stuff everyone else considers hardships in their lives ( which you aren’t going into). They can chill the f out.

    I came across your video because I’m about to start omnipod and I wanted to see what it’s been like for others and you are such a ray of sunshine. It hurt my heart that people can be so rude when you’re doing something really helpful. Just wanted to let you know you helped me today! I have been feeling anxious about moving to a pump, and this made me really excited!

    Your vlogs are great and I see that you have found the best way to manage your T1D. Those critical comment on social media that you mentioned has no base since insurance for everyone is different and golly gee ...Continue to do your meal in a day vlogs. Just got the Omnipod 5 and these bolus strategies are so useful. I would appreciate a video on how you switched your "thinking" coming from the Dash and extended boluses to the Omnipod 5 where you cannot do any extended bolus *sniff*. Do you set an alarm clock to give yourself more insulin later and do you type in carbs or only the insulin?

      Got it…. Make sense…. My insurance is giving me push back with the Omni pods but I’m trying to get them to cover it… I don’t want the tubes system the No tube set up is the way to go I think… I am a cyclist and a tube system is too much attached stuff for me… in my opinion the Omni pod 5 is a game changer like the Dexcom system was…

    why do you love the site being on your back? my daughter has never once tried putting her pod on her back. she prefers her arms or leg or belly. I am so so excited for omnipod 5 to be available in Canada. I assume you are in the US? Our insurance doesn’t cover dexcom so my daughter uses Libre 2 but we’ll have to suck it up and pay out of pocket probably for dexcom when the 5 is available.
    I love your video style btw.

    Can you show us how you handle if it's under 80 and dropping? Do you let the pump do its thing or do you correct it? I saw you having a juice on a different video, wondering if you can share your decision process. ❤️ You are awesome btw.

    • @megtypeone
      @megtypeone  Рік тому

      TOTALLY depends on the situation (i know that's a really annoying answer). If i'm about to drive or maybe going to walk or something active ( like in the other video) i will probably treat it! But if i'm just around the house and don't *feel* like i'm dropping fast, I'll probably let the O5 do it's thing!

    Congrats on your success! I am also a type 1 diabetic been since I was 7 years old. Technically 70-80 is not a low blood sugar, in fact more normal than you may think (at least for non-diabetics). Most HEALTHY* non diabetics tend to range 77-83 mg/dl fasting. I do a very low carbohydrate diet, and my HbA1c since then has been below 5.0%, my last one at 4.7%. I do sometimes have lows as I chose to do MDI of Tresiba and Regular insulin. Generally for me is the exercise that gets me sometimes lows or slight highs. My Dexcom is programmed at 120 mg/dl for the high 😅.
