A Secret Santa surprise for the mother of a baby born with multiple health problems

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
This is the ninth year the Secret Santa is blessing people in our community and every day, from now until the end of the year, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
During the beginning of Kaisa’s pregnancy, she was told her baby would have bilateral club feet. After birth, her baby boy spent a week in the hospital and was treated for pneumonia. But there was more. They spent the first month trying to get answers in Idaho Falls. Finally they had their first visit in Salt Lake City and have been getting tests and appointments with specialists. The baby's trachea has also collapsed on him and he struggles to breathe.
Secret Santa heard about Kasia and her family's challenges. He asked the East Idaho News team to go pay them a visit with an early Christmas gift. Watch the surprise in the video player above!

I was born with club feet, and had many surgeries to correct as best they could. The doctor said when I was 21 that he expected me to be in a wheelchair by the time I was 30. I am 54 and still walking by the grace and mercy of God. I pray that the Lord's will be done in this family's lives in Jesus name, amen.
Medical science helped you. Using god as an excuse means that every baby in the world who never got surgery was rejected by god and that you are "special". That is not a healthy religion.

What a precious little guy. Praying little Harvey keeps doing well and improving. I think mom was a bit overwhelmed with the gifts but managed to get in the hugs. Thank you to Secret Santa and Nate and Josh for the gifts and the delivery. ❤🙏🎅

I love secret Santa!!!!! If I had a lot of money I would do the same thing. I do the 12 days of Christmas. I wasn’t going to do it this year because I’m struggling with cancer treatment but I decided no I need to do it.I might get help to drop off presents each night. I picked a teenager and little sibling who lost their brother this summer. I’m also getting presents for a friends kids because the parents struggle. It brings me great happiness to help others. These videos make me cry. I hope my message inspires others to serve. Helping people brings peace and happiness.

If they’re taking Harvey to Primary Children’s Hospital, be sure to tell them to check out Ronald McDonald House there. They can stay there, do laundry, shower, and receive meals. It was a life saver for my daughter when their son was battling brain cancer. My favorite charity.
@marjeanboyd5096 - the Ronald McDonald House started in my hometown of Philadelphia with the help of the Philadelphia Eagles football team and their GM at the time, Jim Murray. I remember buying Shamrock shakes as a kid to help fund the house. It is amazing how far it's come since 1974. You take care 🙂

I love them too... I just wish the healthcare was better. It's a bizarre system and when you live elsewhere it makes you feel lucky

I think it’s more like there isn’t any place in Idaho so people have to go to Salt Lake City for more major health issues/treatment.

States have no co operation between them for health care.
@RC-kv9rj you got that so right! I live in Idaho and have a terminal illness and it is one of the worst states for medical!!! 😢
@@nicklager1666Because of the low population, there are only a few specialty hospitals in the West. I live in Billings MT, we are a major Healthcare hub but when my little guy was born, he had to go to Seattle because he needed a very specialized team. The states themselves don't coordinate much, but the states indiv administer Medicaid, which many very sick babies do receive, and there is coordination for that. But I had private insurance (my son just needed a specialty procedure, he didn't have ongoing issues like this baby), so the insurers and hospitals coordinated, which I think is what you meant? This system has been in place since the mid 20th century lol, and it makes me happy you don't know more 😊, it means it hasn't been part of your family story ❤ So, yep there is usually fantastic coordination when you go from one facility to another, but very little of it has to do with State agencies, just good organization in the whole Intermountain and west coast region. Btw, Denver, Seattle, & SLC are the big children's hospitals. I'm guessing the Texas & California childrens hospitals are overloaded, kiddos are rarely sent there. Hope that helps explain!
