Hydrangeas are perennials meaning they will come back. Unless temps get below 0F you probably don’t need to cover them up but sometimes it may be a good decision especially during their first winter. They can get very large! Meaning you may have planted them too close to your other plants and have too move stuff latter on. They do require pruning usually in the fall to remove dead flowers and such.
When you are done using the spray paint, turn the van upside down and spray it once or twice. That should help with it next time you need to use it. But if you are still having trouble just run the sprayer under warm water.
Hydrangeas are one of my fav flowers! They prefer morning sun. They do not thrive in hot afternoon sun, so it sounds like your placement is ideal. As far as watering, they prefer 3x/week soak. Try not to over or under water. They’ll come back every year if they get the water and nutrients they need. Good luck!!
Hey Tara, quick tip on the hydrangea since I hear you mentioning you love the colour, but not sure if you know, some hydrangeas colour depends on your soil and usually blue hydrangeas require very acidic soil and I didn’t see you amend the soil, so you might want to look into getting an acidic fertilizer to use with them when you water them so that they stay blue. Otherwise they may come back pink, which is also pretty. Also a lot of hydrangeas come back, but usually around Easter time they do sell some that don’t come back and I don’t know which one you have so could go either way. Good luck!!
Tara, Toronto is Zone 6 and hydrangeas are perennial to zones 3-7 👍 Perennial means they grow back year after year. Just make sure to keep your pup away, hydrangeas and their soil are considered toxic to animals. The yard is looking good! 😊
It’s been many many years since that season 5 finale and I’ve seen it many times and I’m still not over it! Greys will continue to shock you and break you’re heart!!
Catching up on your channel today.. Binging 26 episodes! I have been traveling a lot and havent been able to keep up with your channel for the last couple months but I always enjoy your projects and look forward to seeing them… With that said. I am a professional photographer.. have a degree in photography… and I wanted to tell you that I actually said out loud when you hung the frames up in one of the recent videos, I LOVE THOSE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOS!!! And thought I hope she hangs them so that the one of you and your friend is over the other one and YOU DID!!! They are great shots.. Don’t let what anyone negative said bother you because they look great!! And Black and White gives such a great look to your room. Its a pop of contrast even though they are black and white.. Love it!
Okay but adding the hydrangeas is like the perfect pop of color, I’m obsessed!! You’re right, All you need now is a hammock. It’s really coming together☺️
Hydrangeas come back every year, the flowers and leaves die off in winter and come back in spring. Also hydrangeas change depending on the soil and temperature. They are so nice. We’ve had our for 12+ years. I love making bouquets from them. 😊
As a new gardener myself I have found heaps of garden advice on UA-cam. 🤗 love the colour of the hydrangeas you chose. It is a great mood booster. Enjoy your garden.❤
Cute 🩵🪻 Hydrangeas are the only flowers that drink or absorb water from the actual petals. So spray your hose & focus on water the flower rather than the root! Also I love you & your dads relationship 🥹 it’s wholesome 💓
@@marydengler3157 Hydrangeas are hydrophilic plants, meaning they intake water through its petals & roots. They are the only flower that can do this. If you have cut fresh hydrangeas & their wilting, you can submerge them into a bucket of water to rehydrate it. Powdery mildew causes when a plant is not being cared for properly by lack of light, water & high humidity. If you don’t water the entire plant (petals & all), it will not thrive.
I don’t know where you got your information but it’s completely wrong!! Do NOT water the leaves and flowers!! Try to keep moisture off of them and water the roots deeply. Just like any other flowering plant you do not water the plant directly, just the roots. With the information your giving her she won’t have those beautiful babies for even 6 months🤦🏼♀️

A bench seat under the window in your kitchen would look amazing and be a great place for a morning coffee 😍 And also, adding some acidity to your hydrangeas (like used coffee grounds) will help them! Plus an acidic fertiliser
I think you were spot on with the colour change in the mount (for what my opinion is worth). The first one had a blue undertone and new one is warmer as you say.
I'm currently on season 19 😊 As others have said - it does lose it's magic but it's still entertaining enough. Hydrangea is my fave flowers, just gorgeous. You're looking so healthy ❤
Hydrangeas are beautiful! I have them on my property and love them. They do spread out to a few ft as they mature, so you miiiight want to space them out a bit more. You can definitely keep them alive through the winter with some heavy mulch and straw. There are also covers to put over plants for extra protection during the cold months. I live in Oklahoma so our winters aren't as harsh as the north, but you can do simple winter prep by pruning them back in the fall and mulching. They're even more beautiful as they spread out so don't give up on your new plant babies 🩷
They will look dead in the winter but will come back every spring. You can cut the dying florets and keep them as dried bouquets also. The dried flowers retain most of their color. Love hydrangeas. You will enjoy them for years to come. Your backyard is looking very cozy.
The yard is looking stellar! Your hostas are rocking man! Love the hydrangea add! Cut the dead steams back in the spring! They will need feeding yearly as will all your plants if you want them to bush out and fill in year after year. Soon you’ll not see any soil in your garden! Imagine!!! Stunning! Happy gardening! Love this yard journey!
You should move your bedroom into your office and your office into your bedroom. It would be such a cozy vibe with the fireplace and so much more room! ❤
The first time I watched the end of season 5 I was devastated and didn’t know if I could bear to watch anymore. He was and still is my favorite character.
Hydrangeas are my absolute favourite. 🌸 They do require a lot of water especially when it’s warmer. In autumn they will drop all of their leaves and turn brown then you can dead head them or you can do it sometime in March. 🤍
When the elevator doors opened I LOST it 😭😭😭😭 seriously the BIGGEST shock to me of the whole serious. But you have watch the whole thing because there’s a pretty big twist (involving season 5) at the end of 16 or 17 I believe. It’s not as good but still watchable.
The garden is coming along nicely, those are Hydrangea macrophylla, they like shade and water, if you want them to remain blue then you need to add something if the natural soil isn’t acidic like a hydrangea colourant or coffee grounds! xx
Omggg cant wait for the full backyard make overrrr. I dont know why but i feel that you're going to buy an egg chair again, but i thinks it in my imagination but the egg chair you have at LA house looks good in your backyard with the grass. Its still your decision wether you will have a egg chair or not every thing you do to your backyard would be beautiful!!! Love you queen!!!!
Your hair cut is so cute!!! & we have a ton of hydrangeas! They come back every spring if you cut them all down in the winter time. They don’t die they’re just dormant in the winter! Talk to them and tell them they’re pretty. The acidity in the soil is what determines the color :)
I love the excitement from your dad!!! But Greys! Omggg.. that scene at the end TOOK. ME. OUT. Was not expecting it at allllll. I started watching late too, about 3 years ago or so but yes. So sad
I love hydrangea, too! They look great and how happy they make you makes them worth it for sure! They should make it through winter, ours on the east coast always did, which is a bonus! Yay! :)
I have not seen Grey's in a minute, but seeing your reaction made me sad again lol I'm pretty sure I only watched another season, or two, after that. Glad you're enjoying it!!! xo
You want a low PH level for your soil to keep your hydrangeas blooming blue. Home Depot will sell sulphur for the garden and ph tests kits. Hydrangeas also can grow very large if not pruned. A yearly prune back to a little green growing bud further down each stem per year is all I ever do. Make sure you do it before it gets too cold to try and avoid frost killing the plant
Hydrangea facts. The color they are depends on the acidity of your soil. A lot of people say to use vinegar around the soil to make them blue but thats not recommended really. However, the hydrangeas you bought look more like a variety that likely won’t survive more than one season. @Ashley Nelson yes, they get extremely large. I remember my friend in California who had them. They were like huge bushes. Small bushy trees.
Make sure to get acidic sulfur from Home Depot to keep them blue. That’s what I did with mine 😉

Came to say the same thing! So glad you got to it too!
came to say coffee works too ;)
Was going to say the same thing.
I too was going to say the same about the soil depending what colour they will turn out. They will come bk every year.
The pictures you put in your bedroom frames are Beautiful, Meaningful, and Perfect 💕
I also agree with your comment! ❤
The new cardboard colour looks so much better in the bedroom frames!!
ok thank u!!!! gonna do the other frame today!!
Warm white looks so much better esp with the rooms warm shades!
