Toronto designer here :) Definitely enough room for something above your bed! You have plenty of space. Another thought is to maybe put a mirror behind each nightstand, a fun play with light and dimension. You could do a dark lamp for the nightstands, but honestly I think even a glass one would look nicer. Or something with a more interesting shape. Overall thoughts, at the moment your room looks very flat. You can still have a monotone look, but you need to layer with textures to give the room depth. This is definitely why you get the feeling of the space "missing something". If you want actual suggestions for light, art, etc I can send you some ideas, let me know!
Yes!!! The lack of depth like in the bedroom gives it a sterile “hospital” look like kim k’s house. Needs more warmth for sureeee
You should scrap the bedside lights and see about installing wall lights either side! I think that would tie in beautifully with the room :)

I was rewatching your witch saga, just marveling at how far you have grown. Not many influencers act their age, so I unfollowed many because the content was no longer relevant. Tara, on the other hand matured before me. I went from occasionally watching to getting so excited to see an upload 😂 talking about family, homes, traveling, reading etc - it’s nice to see an influencer age with me and I’m so obsessed (healthily ofc).
For your bedroom: I think lime-washing would add some great texture. And I would do dark framed art/mirrors above dark lamps. Not a designer but I can envision it looking really great with the pieces you already have. 😊

A little bit darker than a sage green lime wash with a black framed standing/hanging arched mirror behind your nightstand, paint the lamps you have now a darker green lime wash but keep your shades you have now to add dimension ❤️
OR
Lime-wash wall behind bed in a dark colour, get a wall sconce (3/4 height of head board) for each side, gold/silver if wall is dark, black if wall is lighter, no mirror/decor. Wall sconces are usually the focal point on walls!

Tara! omg I'm also a girl who hates cooking chicken. I grew up a vegetarian and literally just don't want to eat it after I've cooked it BUT I wanted to tell you! Next time you go to target and TJ's on the stateside bring home the grilled cooked chicken from Target. Its SOOO good. Its cooked and then you have it for whateverrrr you want

I enjoy your travel vlogs. The back home vlogs are so well done also. You have such good energy, jet lag notwithstanding. 😊 I honestly like your home like it is, but after I travel I feel inspired to DO something also. My results are an eclectic mix of neutrals peppered with textures and colors. I think a textured paper in the bathroom would be lovely. Maybe not dark, since it’s a downstairs area. I just painted my basement bathroom 90’s paneling and sealed the concrete floor and I’m very pleased with the outcome. I just enjoy you sharing ideas and designs. By the way, your chopping game is on point! Love the food videos too😊

Yes, definitely something above your bed or even do an accent wall. A wood slat wall would be good. Put wall sconces on each side of bed instead of table lamps. I love neutral colors myself but I am coming out of my comfort zone and adding pops of color into my space. I just got my first 500 subscribers today. 😂😂😂. I am loving that you’re back to decorating your home because it is so beautiful.

The Prada shoes are so gorgeous omg will be saving for those!! Maybe put mirrors behind the night stand lamps(rh vibes) + add throw pillows/throw blanket on the bed to bring in warmth + add some small framed photos or candles on the night stand to feel cozy.

As far as the lamps in your bedroom go, might I suggest you find some pretty brass or gold lamps that mount to the wall! That way you can use the nightstands for more fun and creative things to enjoy, vases, books, plants, sculptors etc. and the Bathroom downstairs I think it would be pretty to do some like either emerald green/ floral or like a elegant peacock moody blue green color...not around the sink but on the other side of the wall in the area with the toilet.

I like the idea of hanging pendants in your bedroom. It could add to your wall if you don’t add art work as well as serving as unique lighting.
I swear bigger/taller lamps will help balance out your room! Everything in your room is tall or large looking (which I love), but the lamps look out of place because they aren’t to scale with the rest of your room. And I actually loved the dark grey that the lamps were before you made them white! That’s my take on it! Love ya 🤍
Love all your videos❤️ For your bedroom maybe try a peel & stick wallpaper on the wall just behind your bed just to break-up the white headboard & lamps & if you don’t like it take it off no commitment. It makes a big impact for not a lot of money.
Then you can add the mirrors behind the lamps & maybe some art on the other walls that pull the colors of the wallpaper. I think a chair would look so good in that corner. These ideas have worked for me. Good luck ❤️

I would do blacks lamps with white shades about the same size. You definitely have room for art work over the bed. For the powder room, I would paint the walls the color of the veining in the stone.

You need wallpaper to break it up! With a wicker pendant. You can get them from ikea with cords that fixate anywheres in the room. It would add a lot of dept your your room and make everything bigger

1000% not a designer but I do love a good elongated oval mirror on each side of the bed with a hanging small lamp from the ceiling! Could be tough to figure out logistically, but Mitch can help! 🤪 it would REALLY elevate the place and make it more hotel vibes!

Do an accent wall behind your bed, to contrast the headboard and future lamp shades (if you switch them out from white), and maybe get some black lamps cause it will go with the rest, also brings it down to a more calming mood, and some throw pillows for the bed to match the accent wall.. tie it all together :)
A full length wall hung or free standing mirror where the two frames and olive tree are would be so nice and functional. Definitely add a medium contrasting lime wash and sconces after! 🫶

Tara, they have these little spider catchers. It's like a long stick with a catcher on the end. Catches all bugs and you can release it in the backyard.
I think a lime wash in a sage green color and maybe some bubble glass lamps or some cool bedside wall sconces in black. I think you should print off 2 of your fav London spots for those frames!
Hi Tara, designer here: black lamp for sure. The contrast is going to POP, also look for one with texture of some sort. If you do limewash - maybe consider doing all the walls in the room, the singular accent wall has kind of trended out. While the limewash may be light in color the texture will encapsulate your room and elevate the entire vibe.
Also, maybe consider doing the two mirrors on either side of the bed, and then hanging pendants! Last option would be gorgeous wall sconces. 😊

You definitely need some texture in the room, I love side lamps they feel homey but I would go a ratten or raffia textured base to keep it earthy and warm and then a fur throw on the end of the bed for some layering ❤

i studied interior design at uni and tbh i think i’d do with a lamp with a fluted glass bass or a ceramic glazed based in a mix of earth tones
You could do long scones above side tables. But the length should be more than the head board so as to balance both side and add a 3 piece effect . This way the space above the headboard will not look empty and you can have balance on the wall.
Love your videos and you choice of music so relaxing. Tip tho for safety use a paper tower or a thin rag underneath your cutting board it’ll prevent the wiggles. Love the hair btw

I think a medium size white lamp would work with a rectangle painting above your bed. The mirrors should be forward too.
i'm in Ontario too ..if you go to a regular grocery store, like a zherz or metro store (not trader joes), they usually have hot deli areas where they sell pre-roasted cooked whole chickens, etc. they also have sushi that's really good & they are cheaper than buying raw chicken ..you can pull the chicken off and use that on sandwiches, put them in stir fry's etc. ..just a tip since you said you don't like cooking chicken. I do this often/don't like to cook them either.
I think Farm boy also has a hot deli, they probably have pre-cooked chicken also . just an idea tho
