- A Camp Belle On Grid weekend, had to get some stuff done around the house as well as pick up the new ATV. This video is a rundown of the ATV we picked up and the reasons why we chose this unit.

Solid investment my friend. The time we spend in the wilderness the more it becomes apparent the value of a good machine. Best wishes guys. Also appreciate your joining our members over on our channel. I means a lot to us. 😊
Thanks Jay and Jen, hope you had as nice a weekend as we did here....lots of sun and warm weather north of the border.
@Camp Belle Off Grid we have been playing hooky and been away from the cabin for a while, that big storm hit us downstate, but back to off grid life tomorrow. Stay safe and keep warm spring like thoughts in mind......we are ready to get back outside....but think we are being optimistic, lol.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen you as well...and 100% cant wait for spring either, our winter wasn't as rough as yours..
Congratulations on the Kodiak. I've owned 2 Grizzlys. First a 2005, 660, then my 2020, 700. Great machines. Comfy, agile, and always reliable. I've ridden many brands, but the Grizzly, and Kodiak in my opinion are the perfect all round quad. Treat her well and she will outlast you. Lol.
Thanks, if the new Kodiak is anywhere near the machine my 2009 Grizzly is I will be a very happy man...
Nice machine ! i have 2 Grizzlies one was suppose to be a kodiak but found a 2017 Grizz with 90 kms so them plans changed haha !
Happy with it so far, mind you only have 6 kms on it...we'll give it a good test at camp in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching....
Nice choice, and it's already turned you into a kid again. :) I took a trip from Arkansas to Illinois to get mine. It is a 2022 Yamaha Kodiak EPS SE - love it, and you will as well.
Was up at camp last 2 weeks, really got a chance to try it out....so far so good!
Great machine Mark. Thanks for the video. 👍
I hope it works out as well as the older Kodiak did...thanks Markus
The heat demon grips are the best IMO. Had them on my 21 griz and they worked so well! That is a sweet looking bike you got there!
Cheers
BB
Thanks Bob, hopefully Caroline les me drive it...lol
Congratulations Mark! Very nice 👍
Caroline really likes it...I may not get to drive it very often...lol
@@campbelleoffgrid Yes - that will happen. 🤣
Looking good!
Can’t wait to ride in the spring 😊
You get to ride the new bike...being the boss and all...
Hi Mark, nice addition to the fleet.
I hope its as reliable as the old Kodiak....thanks for the comment...
I just put my 2021 Kodiak 700 SE in the shop... I am very DIY and do all of my work, but I just put it in the shop. It's just digressed over time. I think it's a COVID bike and issues. It just turned 2 yo.. 800 miles and no mudding. Just work in the deer camp.
I will let you know what it is.
Hope its an easy fix, that power plant is tough and proven....that's low miles for having issues!
i love my yamaha
I certainly have had good luck with Yamaha, would recommend to anyone...
That is a nice looking ride, Mark!
Thank you, we'll put it to good use....
Big engine in a compact chassis ...gotta be good😊
No complaints so far...
Your going to love your kodiak. We’re in Ontario too. Right on the Ottawa river I work my kodiak hard and it works hard too. Lots of power to work and play. One thing I found was it ran hot at low speed in the bush with no air flow. I deleted my spark arrestor and did a k&n air filter and it helped considerably.
I am definitely looking to help it breath with an air filter kit, haven't noticed it running warm yet...thanks for the heads up, ill keep an eye on it. My 09 Grizz has a tendency to run a little warm when I was working it hard at low speeds.
I own an older Grizzly 700, mostly for work duty, but I'm strongly considering a Kodiak for my next quad. This unit looks great!
So far so good, thanks for the comment…plan on doing a 6 month review, still no miles on it yet.
I was like you. Have a 2005 Kodiak in great shape only 4500km on it. A few years back back I bought a new 2016 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec. Nice suspension and high back bucket seats and power steering. My retirement machine.
Side by sides are awesome, Yamaha does a good job in that department too..
Nice bike best of luck with her.
Not many miles on it yet, will have it towing logs out of the bush in July...be a good test.
Yamaha Kodiak 700 очень хороший квадроцикл. Была меня такой.👍👍👍👍👍
Ive had good luck with the Grizzly, I hope the Kodiak is as reliable....Thanks for the comment
Great looking bike, You will get lots of use from that.
If Caroline lets me ride it...lol
Comment for the algorithm. Looking forward to more videos! Cheers.
More to come! Thanks for watching...
Awesome.
Thanks, been a good bike so far....still early in the game
Very nice!! I just put a deposit down on the exact same model. It will be my first quad. I chose that over the Grizzly for very similar reasons. Mine will more for woods work, hunting, plowing, farm work and slow trail rides with the Wife. Im too old for fast riding. I’m sure if I need to open it up a bit, it will be fast enough for me. I’m looking forward to it arriving
I haven't gone too fast with it yet as Im still breaking it in, that said I saw in some YT video's folks hitting 100kmh...that's certainly fast enough for me..thanks for watching Shane
Real nice! Enjoy! :)
Thanks William....thanks for commenting as well..
Looks sweet! I just got a couple 2023 Grizzly XT-R and they are impressive in the capability category. Terrain is a bit extreme here in Utah and these machines are very capable.
You won't be disappointed, i'm still pushing my 2009 Grizz, it hasn't let me down yet.
Nice bike 👍
Ive had good luck with Yamaha, hopefully that continues...
I have a 2016 Kodiak 700 EPS SE. A few first year growing pains for that model, but overall it's been a good machine. I like that they went back to the 686cc from the initial year's 708cc like mine. I think the new Outlander 700 single cylinder from Can Am is going to be some good competition.
Anxious to put it through its paces!
@@campbelleoffgrid I did change out the stock tires on mine to Kenda Bear Claw HTR's. They have been great. Good off-road traction and for plowing snow and they have a center lug which makes them ride pretty nice on road too.
Are the Kenda's pricey?
@@campbelleoffgrid When I bought them in 2016, it was around $500 for a set
I was actually steered away by the dealer from buying the 700 Can Am. Said f it and bought a grizz
Hey Mark a nice bike enjoy 😎
We will put it to work this summer, hopefully its as good a machine as the old Kodiak.
Not over compingsating just smart
I do like the receiver...used 3 of the functions already
I do not know where this is at but I loved how you did your video in the middle of no where & & it looks like you are not afraid to drive it ,
That middle of nowhere is Northern Ontario...lots of awesome trail and scenery. Thanks for watching Leon.
@@campbelleoffgrid I come out of Michigan ,, love the middle of no where lol
@@leoncope6649 no better place to be!
Smart purchase Mark. Caroline will enjoy driving it as well. Say hi to Moose for me
The question is will Caroline let me drive it? lol Moose says hi back...
@@campbelleoffgrid lol
I just picked up the 2024. Great bike. I just dont like the heat. Especially in the storage compartment
Haven't noticed it being too bad on ours...mind you Caroline doesn't let me drive it very much...lol
Very nice Mark...that will come in handy on your property for sure!! Caroline will love riding that one when you go out on the trail together...right Caroline?
Don't you know it Kristin...I should have named the video "testing Caroline's new ride"!
@@campbelleoffgrid 😂😂😂
around here its rocky, the stock skid plates aren't tough enough, awesome machines tho.
Ill be upgrading mine as well..
just noticed ur hat. i m at fraser. also have wolverine x2 and a grizz. cheers!
Small world, go Yamaha!
A few years away from retirement and looking to buy my first ATV, mainly to take the grandkids for a ride every so often. Looks wise I like the Can-Am, but I’m open to options.
Can-Am does make a decent ATV, I have a few friends that swear by their BRP's. Yamaha has treated me well over the years, hence my dedication to their product. Thanks for watching....
@@campbelleoffgrid thanks for the reply and enjoy your new machine and retirement
Oh that's a necessity for a camp for sure im tgink of somthing like this with a plow or something save the back for sure 😅
100%, it's gonna be the log hauler for sure.
Very nice ride...I was on the fence between Polaris and Yamaha but seem to be leaning towards Yamaha more and more..
Yamaha has been good to me, tough reliable machines....
Your 4 month old polaris would have been in the shop at least 6 times by now
Looks good, you wouldn't need that thumb warmer if y'all come to Florida just sayin lol 🤣
I wish...actually surprised how well the thumb warmer actually works..
Yamaha 👍. ..
The best!!
The four wheeler looks real clean! Wonder how long that will last, haha.
Not long...lol
Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki and Yamaha. You can't go wrong IMO
10 4, solid reliable machines...also IMO, thanks for the comment....
I’m looking at buying the same machine. I have a grizzly, but the dad bit smaller body would be nice. That ugly blue Grizzly I can’t stand. Great video and information, thank you.
I will do another review after I put some miles on it...that said cant beat the 686cc
Nice machine. I have the same in a 2018, tactical black too.
I noticed the Ontario plates, Vale hat (almost looked like it says claribelle) so are you in Sudbury area? I'm in Levack close to Coleman.
That almost looks like the road to Rockies
I actually filmed that at the old Onaping dump.....the hat I was wearing was a Colman Mine hat...lol small world
Surprised Yamaha doesn’t make a grip heat kit that fits perfect like Canam makes. After years of atving I put on a kidney belt which gives lots of support to the lower back
That may be worth a try, the kidney belt that is...getting old sucks
Any problems with cold starting in Winter?
I haven't personally had an issue, when I was shopping around a fellow you tuber did state that he had to get his battery changed on his 2022 Kodiak the first winter as he had starting problems, after he installed a better battery in the unit it seemed to resolve his issues.....for extreme cold starting.
@@campbelleoffgridmy starter went in my grizzly I thought it was a weak battery same exact symptoms but the magnets let go in these yamaha starters just FYI for the future, (it was a $70 fix and I did it myself in 20 minutes)
Thanks, ill keep an eye
Ceramic coat it and that will make it easier to clean
I will definitely look into that..
Bike??? not. Its an ATV.
10 4...its an ATV, and a true work horse....thanks for watching.
