Hayden's baby led weaning progress in 60 days (2 months)! When we starting solid foods he took to them so well. All babies progress at different times so if your baby isn't very interested in food at the moment don't worry & just let them go at their own pace! :)

Great video, thanks for sharing. I messed up weaning with my first and it was stressful - she is 3.5 years now and is much better. With my second I am determined not to make the same mistakes and honestly this video is one of the best on BLW as it shows progression. I used to get disappointed and lose patience not seeing them eat anything for days but looking at this it all seems normal and reassuring - takes the pressure off!

My baby is 4.5 months and I’ve been doing or trying to do lots of research (not been very successful in finding the right information) this is one of the most useful videos I have come across and now cannot wait to get to our 6 month mark to try this out! Thankyou!

My baby's pediatrician is anti baby led weaning. I was only asking her about what she thinks about baby led weaning and she imediatelg got a bit angry with me telling me "do you think a 6month old baby can chew?" No we already talked about weaning stick to that! 😅 i still tried to give my baby a steamed carrots and she loves it!!! And contrary to what she said ny baby can chew! She never gagged not even once! Im thinking of changing her dr very soon!

I love baby led feeding. Started with my 6 month old and she’s doing great! I got the books first. Baby led weaning books and a cook book to get started! It’s good. Just introduced peanut butter to her and she loves it.

Love this! I just found your video since my baby will turn 6 months next month and this helped give me ideas. When did you first give him water? My daughter is still nursing, well she’s only 5 months afterall but I was just curious as to when he had his first cup of water.

Sorry I didn’t see this comment, it is the OXO TOT sprout high chair. It’s a simple design, good size tray and very easy to clean. Also the child can use it as a chair after until they’re 5 years old.

So cute!!!! Great job mama! I started with purées at 6months. Now at 7months I’ve been offering baby finger foods but he just doesn’t want to eat them :( he will take a spoon with purée tho. Ugh.

Thank you so much for posting this!! I just started blw for my 6 month old and the lack of information out there made it difficult! I can see it's a progress and it's okay shes not eating all the food. (It barely gets to her mouth, still learning)
It definitely takes time, some babies longer than other. I found the more I offered food, the better he got at it.. Practice makes perfect!

to any moms out there feeding solids make sure theyre ALWAYS cut into small pieces ive seen mutiple babies choking not gagging unfortunatley not enough moms know this....

My son is 6.5 months and is totally showing signs for wanting to start blw. Did you introduce one food at a time and wait for is that completely unnecessary?
I just worry about the chocking I can not see giving a 6 month old this with out chocking

amulz miller I always giving very soft food, none that can be choked on. I have another video on my channel that gives a lot of baby led weaning tips.
YOU SHOULD NEVER SCOOP FOOD OUT. You could end up pushing the food back and cause then to actually choke. They need to handle it on their own.

@@lindseydelight ya it's to risky for us I think we will stick to mashed foods I can not watch the gagging without thinking that he is chocking cucumbers, chicken,steak that's not something I feel comfortable feeding a 6-8 month old but good luck with it

Eunice Sandoval Sure, the camera that use usually use is a Canon EOS M100 but sometimes I just use my iPhone and it’s also really good quality. If you’re filming on your iPhone though remember to film in landscape mode because that’s what works best for UA-cam videos.

my baby is 8 months and i try to feed him food but his gag reflex makes him throw up. What should i do? he only likes purees.

Yes, meat because the baby does not have 4 stomachs like a cow to eat green vegetables!
Is it safe to baby led wean if you have already started puréed foods? My baby has had home cooked purées for about a month now. Another question, do you give them the food raw or steam/cook it the first times?
Hi! I have heard some people do both, though we didn't. Its best to look up how to cook and offer each food. Everything should be softened to it is soft enough to pinch between your fingers.

How old is your baby? Every baby is different and some just don't have a very big appetite.

I plan on making a BLW tips video but some of my suggestions are.. serve food about a half hour after a milk feed, try to serve something you know your baby likes with each meal, include your baby in all your meal times to increase her interest in food or eat at the same time as your baby. Do you have instagram? I follow a couple accounts that give lots of great tips: @feedlnglittles @kids.eat.in.color
How often did you offer food each day?
I started with one meal a day then moved to two as I figured the more practice he got, the better. 👍🏻
also, our pediatrician suggested when trying new food, to try one thing for three days in case of allergies but BLW is the complete opposite, is that safe?
I’ve heard this also, we did it with the common allergy foods like eggs, strawberries, peanut butter to start but once he had no reactions to lots of the common ones I didn’t worry about it too much.

I'm indian and broccoli and avocados are very expensive here but my baby wont eat any of those expensive food and will only eat potatoes. She even hates bananas or apples. She literally throws all of her food and she is almost 1.5 years old. I'm so sick of her not eating and it's so depressing.
Did you give him food that’s unsalted? that’s the only thing keeping me from giving my baby what we eat. 😩
Taylor Moore personally, I don’t add a lot of salt to our food so I wasn’t worried. They can have some salt in small quantities.

my son started with pureed foods. Now, when I try to let him eat by himself, I'm scared that he might choke because he bites big chunks. also, he still doesnt have teeth at 8mos.
michelle velasco he doesn’t need teeth, as long as the pieces are cut safely (no bigger than the width of a finger and soft enough to squish)
Hayden is 19 months now and he still only 6 teeth in the front
He is going to gag a bit at first while he’s learning.

Babies don’t get their back teeth until way later, they can use their gums to “chew” the food. It is all served VERY SOFT and only as thick as a finger. I have another video on my channel that really explains baby led weaning.

All babies are different, if yours is gaining weight and your doctor isn’t worried then she is getting enough. Maybe her feeds are longer and Hayden was more of a “snacker”

Nicole Fritz to start I was giving in long strips, only as wide as a finger so it was easy for him to hold. As he got better at grabbing things I have smaller pieces, still no wider than a finger.
