Your parenting style is like mine. I don’t adhere to one way of doing things. And I don’t believe one way is the best way. Thank you for being real and a relatable parent!
Really like your meal ideas my son has no teeth yet he is 8.5 months and I get so freaked out feeding him cuz I feel he’s gonna choke on something. I feel I’ve been feeding him the same meals over and over. I’m gonna give some of these meals a try and trust his abilities to eat. And your little guy is such a good eater.
It is like a comedy routine watching a wee one learn about foods. They are so meticulous in examining everything and mentally recording its color, scent, texture, and taste. It's fun to observe how new it all is to them. Even when they've had snap peas before, they still do a new investigation just to be sure they are the same as last time. The whole world is so new to them they have no way to determine what will change on them and what will remain the same. He is doing so well that it will be a relief to you to know Jackson is getting proper nutrients from his food. LOL- at 4:01 Jackson has such a Jackson expression, so evaluating, deciding what is going on and what he thinks of it. His serious look and furrowed brow just crack me up. They make his smiles mean more. When the avocado is spread on something, it is easier for him to eat. He apparently is just not comfortable having to grab the slippery little pieces of it that are not easy to grasp. And they aren't. Even bananas are a bit drier to hold, so babies can keep their grasp of them better. Except for honey, which they cannot have until age one, he can eat whatever you are eating. It is wise to keep too spicy away from his tender belly lining at this age. Glad to hear Riley is still branching out a bit and trying things you all eat. Who knows why he didn't want his rice today, when he usually likes it. Doesn't he hold and squeeze his own pouches? Remember the gagging is a function of discovering the texture with his mouth and not that he does or doesn't like something. I would suggest that broccoli in another form: in a soup or cooked soft might please him because to a baby's mouth the broccoli has to feel a bit like someone put a thistle in your mouth. It would feel funny, so he gags to get it in a different position in his mouth for evaluation. Maybe not, but I'd bet he'll like it soft in a soup or cooked through or in a quiche. He needs teeth for the bottom part, but the top part has to feel like eating a bush to a baby. Just odd. New, so they're not sure of it. He's enjoying learning to eat.
It is actually better to introduce the foods that are potentially allergens early on and often. Closer to the 6-month age. Many studies show the increase benefit and reduction of those foods becoming actual allergies.
my daughter is 6 months, i gave her broccoli earlier this week and she didnt even seem interested enough to try it, she jut touched it and looked at it ! I'm using the same book that you use, Baby led feeding, infact I bought it because of you, so happy with it !!
And here is my son ...5 to 8 baby spoons vegetable soups and few baby spoons of cereal...i am glad for Jackson he is a good eater! We soon have to start giving him little pieces....hopefully he will eat more
My son just turned 4 months old yesterday, he sees his dr tomorrow. I’m really hoping they give me the go ahead to start baby oatmeal 🙏🏼 love watching Jackson grow. It’s insane how fast baby’s grow! 😢🥺
We also did combo feeding - BLW scared me so much! We did puree at 5/6 months and then started doing table foods. Now at almost 1 my son will eat basically anything. Good job mama!
The thumbnail 😍 Jackson is such a good little eater. I didn’t ever do baby led leaning with my son but if I have another baby definitely gonna be doing it!
We just started giving my five month old some purees. He was NOT a fan of potato (even with added breastmilk), but sweet potato was.. Well, not a hit, but definitely better than regular potato. So far, pureed fruits and berries are his favourites 😊
Girl now I see what you mean with anxiety! I started BLW with my daughter yesterday. She took 2 bites then gagged I freaked out and took the food away and stopped. So hard 😭 Jackson is such a good eater! So glad 🥰 he's so cute!!
Love seeing him try all those foods! I think when he gags, it doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t like it. He seemed to love the rice! I think it’s just him learning how to eat the new food, he’ll get it down my son sometimes Gaga on tomatoes but he LOVES them 😂
I give my little guy one "whole" BLW kind of food to work on and play with and then when he's done with that I will give him a puree or a cereal or something just to make sure he's actually getting a good amount of solids but learning to feed himself and exploring different textures.
I can't believe how similar j and my boy are 😅 my baby is also getting his second tooth, also hates broccoli and loves pretty much everything else. also climbing on everything and crawling everywhere and every day I'm anxiously anticipating for him to just start walking and me losing my mind 😁
Do more toddler meal videos seperatly of just Riley and Jackson individually and of them together and more what you guys eat in a day and what they eat in a day
She is nursing as she said. Under the age of one most of an infants calories come from breastmilk or formula. He is perfect as can be! Just remember every child is different.
Those pieces are so tiny. She definitely doesn’t feed him much food. It’s great that she breastfeeds but give him bigger pieces. He needs to learn how to eat regularly and not ant size pieces. Poor baby. I fill my kids plates up to the max. I make sure they eat well. I’m sure he will gain more weight if she stopped being so anxious about him gagging and give him more food.
MissNicolePerez all this is very true. I think the anxiety is definitely what makes her do the tiny pieces. I feel like she wouldn’t take these critiques well tho unfortunately. I’ve seen babies given half a banana, they love to just hold it and gnaw on it. That’s how babies learn.
Another Question I have is: you cut the pieces in small bites...is that ok? I thought I had to leave them in chunks to avoid checking for example the chicken. Are those small pieces of chicken ok? Or how big should they be?
Try this smoothie for both of your kids : 1 avocado Milk ( use according to the consitency u want) Dates( u can replace it with sugar) Mix of Nuts It is Soo good and will make them full
It would really help me a lot cause my baby girl can grab her food and put it in her mouth but I can’t put the plate down for her to grab her own because she ends up grabbing the plate
I tried to watch the “what my 7 month old eats in a day” cause my baby just turned 7 months..and I wanted to start getting some ideas! but it says your video was taken down due to violations 😩💜
I am so impressed with Jackson’s eating! Still trying to get my baby to eat things. She’ll taste them, but isn’t super interested in eating a lot of it. Still planning to try the banana pancakes again! 😂
Just keep trying the more expose she gets the higher the chance of she eating the food. If she chew it and split it that is a win for the day. Learning how to eat is a long process.
Trying to figure out what on earth to send to daycare for lunch for my twins... They do baby led weaning at home, mostly so I've been waiting until they had somewhat of a pincer grasp to send food to daycare because they won't do real baby led weaning at daycare. Which is fine. I understand. But I don't want them eating purees that much either so now we're just starting the third meal at eight months and I'm kind of like... What do I send... so this is helpful
When did Jackson start getting the pincer grip? My daughter is 6 months old we have been doing blw but it’s kinda been a lot of wasted food, I know it takes time to learn and all but she doesn’t tend to want to eat much so I’m hoping once she can grasp smaller pieces she will eat more down the road.
I think it was close to the 8 month mark that he started picking things up like that. We started practicing by putting those baby puffs on his tray and he slowly started learning how to pinch them.
I love you skillet where you cooked the eggs 🍳🤣 what kind are they? 😀 i love your channel I recently found you and I love watching your videos!! Keep up the good work mama!!🙌🏻🌻🙏🏻 God bless you and your familia 💐💝

You put in soooo much work into your channel and you have 2 kids, a house and a husband!! Girlll good for you!! You deserve more than 100K subbies!!
Lil’ man- he is so cute!!! Whatever you put down before him, he will devour. He’s so content to anything to eat!!
I love that he enjoys his food. So good to have a baby that loves their food. It makes things a lot easier.

Yay! I’m so glad you bought the book! Just give her time and keep exposing her to foods. She’ll get there eventually!
Aww thank you for sharing what he eats in a day, my little guy is 7 months so I love seeing what you feed Jackson because it gives me more ideas💙💙💙💙
And here is my son ...5 to 8 baby spoons vegetable soups and few baby spoons of cereal...i am glad for Jackson he is a good eater! We soon have to start giving him little pieces....hopefully he will eat more
He completely stole my heart when he was eating the cheese 🥺♥️
Jackson's eating is adorable 😍 but then again, everything he does is adorable
My son just turned 4 months old yesterday, he sees his dr tomorrow. I’m really hoping they give me the go ahead to start baby oatmeal 🙏🏼 love watching Jackson grow. It’s insane how fast baby’s grow! 😢🥺
Just wanna say thank you for the amazing videos! Your sleep training video was a game changer for our household.
So satisfying to see baby eating so well. How do you navigate the “ no salt before 12 months” advice? So hard to cool seperate meals for bub
We also did combo feeding - BLW scared me so much! We did puree at 5/6 months and then started doing table foods. Now at almost 1 my son will eat basically anything. Good job mama!
ALSO I wanted add that he is SO STINKIN CUTE! 😍😍
Yayyy! I’m so happy to hear your little dude is a good eater too! I’m hoping Jackson will keep this up and keep trying new things!
Kim P and thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love seeing him eat he loves cheese 😭😭
I love the way you talk about Jackson's food. I feel exactly the same way❤️ combo-feeding works the best for us too❤️ greetings ❤️
Yes! Whatever works for you! And for us, combo feeding is just the easiest for everyone. We love it! ❤️
He is so precious and such a good eater!
Can you you do a video of how u got him to use spoon and forks ?? It would really help me a lot
..we love watching them play!!!!
Great to see the difference in eating between your kids. Thank you for sharing! I will definitely going to try combo feeding the second time around!
Right?! Two different approaches, but I’m really happy with how things have been going this time around. Definitely worth looking into!
aww jackson is the cutest baby
and a better eater
Thank you 😊😊😊
And he is getting so big

Already watching this video early in the morning at 8.35 am and what a good start of the day 😍 Always love watching your videos ❤
Awww thanks for being here! 😊💕
Omgosh! He’s adorable I swear! 🥰
Thank you for the meal ideas for babes! He is adorable 😍
Love this! Please make more!!

Hello mommy🥰 how old is he in this video? I like the way you prepare his food.My baby is 7months old now
I never thought of shredded cheese. For some reason my kids dr always recommends cheese and I was nervous but I’ll definitely try that!
He’s such a good eater!! 💙
Don’t worry Kayla, you are doing great job! 😇
I am stunned! He eats so tiny portions. My granddaughter is 8 months and she eats three times as much. Does he grow as he should?
She is nursing as she said. Under the age of one most of an infants calories come from breastmilk or formula. He is perfect as can be! Just remember every child is different.
Stacy Testerman she has actually said recently he is underweight
@@Sarajiii Yes, this comment was from two weeks ago she just posted a new video after his latest apt.

We did the same with our baby, mix of Purées and soft finger foods to start off with. Great vid!
"He loves cheese!"
I mean... Same 🙋
Can’t blame him lol
yayy..so cute and adorable baby😍baby jackson is a good eater nothing left😅😂I rally enjoy watching him eating, coz my baby is so peaky😅
He almost always clears his plate or his tray! He loves eating all his food!
So interesting to learn about blw.. thanks for the video!
Anytime!

Please make more videos on Jackson’s daily eating routine.. I just love to watch him eating!!!🥰🥰🥰
Can u do a video on how you got him to eat by him self and how u got him to use spoons. And fork
It would really help me a lot cause my baby girl can grab her food and put it in her mouth but I can’t put the plate down for her to grab her own because she ends up grabbing the plate
Hi, did you give the chicken cold or heat it up first?
My son is 6 months old so im excited to start BLW once i see his doctor to get the go ahead :)
Cheeeeeeese is life 🤪😅🤤 Jackson is sooo cute 😍
I know you mentioned biting in a previous vlog. How did you get Jackson to stop? My little guy will be getting teeth very soon and I’m super nervous 😬
You mentioned Rylie was eating more of your food at dinner!! Thats awesome. What kinds of food is she eating now?
All the best for your future
Thank you!
Hi...
Can u tell which cheese are you using for baby ?
I tried to watch the “what my 7 month old eats in a day” cause my baby just turned 7 months..and I wanted to start getting some ideas! but it says your video was taken down due to violations 😩💜
Que lindo Jackson , siempre te veo desde Sur América, saludos
What’s the best time to offer food
Thank you so much!
Cuteness overloaded! 😍
Thank you! 😊💕😊💕😊
So smart to use foods you are eating and not have to make him all his own foods for every meal! 👍🏼 Great tip for first time parents! 👍🏼
Thanks! It just makes things easier for everyone! 😊
Any suggestions for egg alternatives? My son is 8 months and allergic to eggs.
My baby is turning 8 months tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out what figure foods to start her with
So practical. The best day to do It ;)

Link to the gray bookcase behind the couch in the living room?
Thanks for sharing. How many teeth does he have. M l/o only has 4 teeth. So nervous to try baby led weaning

I love cheese too 😊 Careful tho with cheese as some contain a lot if salt. But I'm loving these videos. Giving me plenty of ideas when we start BLW 😊
My baby is a very good eater but not good at feeding himself. Any tips?
These chesse r unsalted ?
When are you going to do more toddler meal videos
I’m a Asian Mom I’m leaning how to feeding for my daughter, Do you mind to write down the brand name of foods you bought. So I can know and buy, Thanks Kayla , I like your channel
You cut everything up sooo small 😂😂☺ i just gave my baby big chunks and he could chew off it. Never chocked
Originally is that the real baby led weaning, the chunks that they can eat form is. So small is a bigger choking hasart. No affents to anybody who does it an other way but it is what it is:) i like the food inperation!! ♡♡♡ only love
My bbg has her 3 teeth coming out on the bottom in the middle she has 2 Rn and 1 I can see. It from far away and she is 8 months
We tried cauliflower the other day at 7.5 months.... did NOT like it one bit ❤
One question… is this for babies with teeth or can a baby with no teeth eat this?
Can my baby with only two teeth eat scrambled eggs? He is 9 months
so they can chew on these things with only two teeth? that’s my confusion
Did you have to work on his pincer grip or did e just develop that skill on his own?
He caught on super quick to that but to practice I’d put baby puffs on his tray and he’d work on grabbing them and putting them in his mouth
@@KaylaBuell ooh I'll have to try that!
When he was eating lunch and he took his first bite he missed but he was still eating 😂

How old is ur baby boy ?
How many teeth does he have? My 8 month old only has two bottom teeth and I’m terrified of him choking.
Hey, how about salt and sugar??
Babies aren’t supposed to have salt nor sugar.
pancakes? they r great when u add eggs!
i have a question if don’t mine
Why dont you try giving Ridley one thing that you and Jackson is eating? If she make a scene just tell her that she doesnt have to eat it and give her a bolw for "no thank you food" but leave it at her tray so she can see it and be exposed to the new food. I know it is hard. My daughter turned 2 in April and there are days when she doesnt want to eat as she usually does and there are days when she is a lot. And she doesnt lkke sauces so i always leave a part of the meal without sauce she is served the same food just without sauce.
By the way hes so adorable just make me want to have another baby.
My baby is 8 months old and he still eat puree because I am too scare of him to choke and he have no teeth :( is too hard for me, I get nervous.... he is my first baby
