I bought a pregnant bumble bee platy from Petco last night and thought "eh I've got at least a couple days" but I was wrong. She released while I was at work today, so I did an emergency transfer of the fry I could catch to my little shrimp tank. This video was immensely helpful for figuring out what to feed them. Now to figure out how to feed them. Thank you for your insight!!
This helps me so much ♥️ I bought my fry a daphnia and they're injoying it so much, just a bit massive for them to eat, but they grow more much faster than what I expected ♥️ I'm looking forward for some baby shrimps, they look so much good
I love watching your videos. I even have to rewatch this since I've been mesmerized by you and forgot to take note of what I'm here for at tbe first place hahaha
@@jt.633 I put dried river shrimp thru a manual grain grinder comes out like a fine dust it's great, also tried with spirulina granules and tetra crisps but it's not as good as the shrimp
I discovered this morning that my guppies had given birth but I only saw 4 baby guppies. I scooped them up to another tank for baby fish. I fed them brine shrimp and they were enjoying it.
Thank you so much for your review just got a surprise with baby Electric blue Acara and 50 Platies give or take a few lol Thoroughly enjoyed it I have Brine shrimp alway hatch it then freeze some And quality extreme flake.what am I gonna do with 50 platys Don’t have a heart to cull them Only if they have terrible deformities not because it’s not the perfect color
My guppy gave birth to a dozen surprise baby fries (she didn't even look pregnant). I so crushed pellet food with my finger and feed them. Mother fish ate big pellets, fry ate the crushed pellets. No need to buy "fry food" at all. Also guppies fries are actually not that small when they are born. I'm currently keeping some japanese rice fish fries, and they are super tiny! ( I thought they were insect larvae the first time I saw them) Moina is way too big for them, hand crushed pellets are also too big for them. Luckly I have green water (for feeding moina). I will also try using kitchen mortar and pestle to crush fish food and feed they.
Hey man, do you have any tips on netting some of the tiny faster moving species of fish in heavily decorated tanks? I have 10 embers in a 150L tank full of plants and rocks and uneven substrate and I can’t catch them to move them 😂
Jacob Bailey patience 😬 I have a tank like that but it’s 60g (227L?). Sometimes I joke that once the nano fish go in, you’ll never get them out again. You could also try baiting them. If you have a food that can stick on glass like a Sera o-nip you might be able to lure them out and you can scoop as many as you can with a clear container. I find a specimen box is less alarming to them than a net so you can hold it in the tank while you wait for them to swim to the top
I don't even own a net, so i use a clear plastic medicine cup (it's shot glass sized) and I hold it with my aquarium tweezers and catch the tiny fish (or shrimp) between the cup and the glass wall. seems to work well enough for moving them when necessary.
I love brine shrimp. I cleaned out a juvenile guppy fry tank and moved them to a larger tank. I was about to dump the water and I saw a tiny guppy fry in there. I didn't know my guppies were old enough to breed so surprise surprise. I hatched out some baby brine and he loves them. I started a brine shrimp culture and they are 6 weeks old now. But, now that they are bigger, he's afraid of them lol! I put some in last night and he hid from them! He's bigger than they are and can definitely eat them so it's kind of hilarious. His new name is super sissy lol!
Hi there, I have a question, what would you recommend for dwarf blue gurami fry that have just hatched from the egg other than infusoria witch is a complete pain in the *ss to make?

not live-bears (eggs that are fertilize outside female) i like to when they are born to let them be for about 2-3 days then after they star to move more i like to put infusoria for about 1-2 weeks whith 2 times a day after that week or two i like to give brine shrimp for 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks (most fish are adults at week 6-8) then comercial food and every so often some sort of live food
