Untraveled Americans (so most of us) often have no idea how lucky we are for ease of access to building materials. Like anywhere there are some rural areas that can be product deserts, but I imagine the bush of Australia is no better. Got to be thankful. Also leaves no excuses for cutting corners.
I wish I could come to the store but I'm in the US. I hope you know that you've already done more than most people do in their entire life time! So keep up the good work! I've learned so much from you and I bet many others have too!
I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I think they're among the most informative aquarium resources on UA-cam. Regrettably, being UK-based, I can't visit the shop but I hope it's a tremendous success!
Thanks for making such an awesome video with a walkthrough on how to make these tubs I tried looking for another video to really show me how to of the steps to do this and couldn't find one that worked so I really appreciate how awesome this video was
Congrats on the new shop! I actually ask you if you were going to do this on a live feed about a year ago and you said that you weren't considering it. Glad you pulled the trigger. I own a different kind of business, but with every business there is always struggle. Stay with it through good time and tough times. It will reward you in the end.
Just a little tip to cut the sponges perfectly and super fast. Get a short piece of copper tubing at the desired diameter and file the edge of the tubing on the outside edge to sharpen the tube. This obviously only needs to be done on one side of the tube. Then just set the foam on a flat surface (not on a surface you do not want to scratch) and just lightly apply pressure as you rotate the pipe back and forth cutting the material. The downward pressure should be slow as you are cutting into the material. Works like a charm.
Love Makita power tools lol had to say it. Was my first professional brand I bought getting into construction and have loved the brand since! Plus the color is nice!
Congratulations on the new shop can't wait for the grand opening! Wish I lived in Australia would so come! Looks great can't wait to see where your going to go.
Would love.yo know/see how you run your water setups. How do you treat and maintain that much water? Not so much the water changes (I saw that video) but the initial intake into the store. Thanks for the great content.
Thankyou nick for a very informative video on how to create this unique fry setup. Really enjoyed this video. Shame i dont live in Australia as i would love to come to your shop. I wish you all the best for the future 😊. Thanks for sharing mate 😊
Have you considered putting a bigger PVC piping around the irrigation lines to prevent leaking? I bet that would work, and you’d get the benefit of the irrigation line.
I really like your videos a lot, I hope you do a video on your shop opening, It won't be any good for me because I live in the UK, but I would still really love to see your new shop very much. Take care from Kevin, I'm a big big fan of yours, Thank you so much.
You probably know this, but for the audience, keeping the spunge outlets as big as possible on the inside of these boxes minimize the risk of them clogging, since there is much more area to clog up before that happens. They can be smaller on the outside/the part in the main aquarium to keep it easy to take them out of the hole and put them back, making the maintanence easier. And also, make at least one extra, then one can immedeately be replaced and then there is very small chance any fry get out in the main tank while cleaning the spunge. Also, keeping the lights on 24/7 and feed fry automatically around the clock make sense for a professional breeder, but probably not for the mainstream hobbyist. I guess you get your fry up to adult, or at least sellable, size twice as quick or maybe even faster than I do. But I'm in no hurry, nor do I have a financial incentive to grow them quickly. I find that I get fairly good results in the end, with healthy and good looking fish. I even find that the fish I raised slowly from fry often live significantly longer than store bought fish. And I talk about fish that usually live 2-3 years can be up towards 5-6 years! Possibly only in part from growing up slowly, they also have stable, fairly unchanging water perimeters from birth and basically no stressful interactions during their lifetime. Just my layman observations and I don't really want fish prices double or triple to have fished raised like this by breeders, but as a hobbyist, I think there is a case for not hurry up the growth process.
Good luck for your new shop, as I'm in the UK obviously I shan't be at the opening. Keep the videos coming I've learnt a lot from them, you're lucky that your water doesn't need heating unlike mine here.
Nick I think this looks wonderful. I wish you the best of success. Now that it is getting warmer there (not that it really gets that cold their compared to the midwest US) I think your business will thrive.
This is really cool, mate. I wish you all the best, plenty of successes to come. If I have a chance to go to your city, I would definitely visit your shop. I've learnt a lot from your channel. Thanks
this is great young man kudos to you and opening up your store really enjoy your videos and your new place looks amazing! hope you have great success on your opening weekend
Wish you well with your opening, if I can find the time I will make the drive from the Gold Coast to check out all your hard work and your fish ... hoping you have some Celstial Pearl Danios when I get there :)
Can't wait to come in this weekend. I'll try get in Friday arvo. But worst case I'll come in Saturday or Sunday. So keen to see what the kfs store looks like in person. Been a long time in the making man. Congrats!
🍀Best Wishes for your Shop🍀 I've been an aquarist for over 44 Years now...I got my first Aquarium when I was 6 Years old. Just one year later I successfully reared my first armored Catfish (C. aeneus, trilineatus, elegans, natans). To this Day, the Corys are my absolute favorites. I currently have 31 species. The only Species that really bothers me when it comes to offspring is C. narcissus...few babies ever make it through. (approx. 3 out of 10) Do you have any experience with this Type? Greetings from Germany.
The main things that keeps fry small are the nitrates and nitrites from their poop. It helps nature scale them to their environment. SO! If you want fast-growing fish, do lots of large water changes and feed them well
Congratulations and best wishes for your opening day wishing I could check it out but living in Tasmania it's a bit hard. but I sincerely wish you all the best
Best of luck with your new shop👍🏻👌🏻 looks awsome nice! You’r building what i want to do here in the netherlands, its only a hard time right now to setup a shop here du to the economic situation and energy prices besides the rent hehe.. ( so ill be keeping breeding my fish for now stil at home). Great to see you succeeding your dreamjob in what you do and can’twait for your next video! Cheers!
Great job . My black skirt tetras had babies so I put them in a 2 and a half gallon fish tank and with a air hose with a bubble rock is that going to be OK with them ?
The store looks amazing mate!! Can't wait for a grand opening video

Congratulations on the soft opening of the Fish Store. Can't Wait to see the Video of the Complete Store.....💕💕💕
I've been watching your videos for a while now, and I think they're among the most informative aquarium resources on UA-cam. Regrettably, being UK-based, I can't visit the shop but I hope it's a tremendous success!
What a journey. Hats off for whatever you’ve done and all the best for future.

Next time you need sponges, you can get them in art sections & beauty sections of discount stores. Already round!❤️🇦🇺
Congratulations on the new store! Nice to see a young man such as yourself going after his dreams! Best of luck in your new endeavors!
Not from your country but eagerly waiting for weeks for the opening. Hope you will get all the success and happiness.
Just a quick tip for making round sponges. A hole saw drill bit run in reverse cuts foam and sponge.
Great job nick! Your new shop is looking fantastic🙂👍🏻 Wishing you all the success from America 🇺🇸
Hands down your channel is as good as they come....If i ever make it to your side of the world i will def be checking your store out.
I'd love to see a video on how you plumb a rack of 6, 9, 12 or more tanks.
Congrats on the new shop! I actually ask you if you were going to do this on a live feed about a year ago and you said that you weren't considering it. Glad you pulled the trigger. I own a different kind of business, but with every business there is always struggle. Stay with it through good time and tough times. It will reward you in the end.
Congrats on the store. Wish you nothing but success. Hope I can visit in the future
For cutting foam screw it to a scarp bit of wood to secure it . Then use your drill with a circular hole cutting drill bit . Should save a bit of time

All the best for your Shop, make sure you take a day off before your opening, you will be refreshed for a days rest.
Love Makita power tools lol had to say it. Was my first professional brand I bought getting into construction and have loved the brand since! Plus the color is nice!

Also electric meat carving knife works great at cutting and shaping foam

Your dreams coming true. ✨️ would love a live stream opening. Will you ship fish to NSW?
The main things that keeps fry small are the nitrates and nitrites from their poop. It helps nature scale them to their environment. SO! If you want fast-growing fish, do lots of large water changes and feed them well
