I've owned a xaviere XV500 for about 10 years now. Plays great, sounds great too. Mine is black and I bought during a belemished sale, it has a small blemish in the binding on the body. It's in one spot about 1/2 inch. I paid $179 at the time. Am extremely happy with it. You owe yourself to take a look at their products. Great review as always Max.
YES!! Xaviere is amazing. I have a few (I think 3) of their Tele style guitars. All amazing in their own way. I really appreciate how you bring value guitars to people's attention. I guarantee there are beginner and aspirational players benefitting from your knowledge, so thank you for doing that! Much respect as always.
Since my last update I purchased the guitar featured in this video (in lemon drop) and PRO XV-875 HSS strat (in sunburst). Both came nicely setup. The PRO XV-875 humbucker also comes with coil splitting. You really can't beat these guitars for the money. Fit, finish and sound is great on both.
The BlueBurst they have now is pretty cool too. These guitarfetish guitars are good deals , never got a bad one, they of course need some tweaking, but for the price what do you expect.
I literally just got mine today. I have the xv pro 500. The single cut without the tremelo. Unboxed it, tuned it, and played. This thing is amazing straight out of the box. I also was very impressed with the frets. I got the guitar with hardshell case shipped to my door in nc for $359. Love your channel by the way . Am a subscriber.

i have owned several Xaviere XV-500 guitars in Lemon Drop, Quilted Vintage Natural Maple, Gloss Black and Transparent Red. I love them. The best value in an LP style guitar. They sound fantastic and the quality is miles above the price point. I recommend them highly.
I have a non-trem version. Very happy with it. Amazing value and those quick-change pickups are a really useful feature. Good customer service from Guitar Fetish too.
I finally got my hands on one of these. I was on the waiting list for months. I almost gave up. I ordered the XV-500 Purpleburst and I am very impressed. It feels nice and plays well. The fit and finish is outstanding IMHO. I may experiment with some of the other quikplug pickups but the stock crunchy pats sound damn good!
They are out of stock again currently. I have been thinking about getting something inexpensive with the locking trem system . I'm glad to see your comment, it helps me decide to wait. I'll get on the waiting list and hopefully someday i'll have one.
I have been tempted to buy a GFS LP for a couple of years now, I just wasn't sure of the quality. Now with your review and the guitar being set up with the wiring for the quick change pick ups I no long have a reason to wait! Curses, I don't think I have room for another guitar.
I have their "Crunchy Pats" in a LP style buyout guitar I got from them and they sound great! That guitar cost me less than $200 total and it's definitely a gig worthy axe. This and DBG I'm loving the GFS love!
Dude the guitar looks amazing and it sounds amazing as well, and there’s no one else I can think of to do this amazing of a job for a test. Your amazing man thanks for all you do🤘
I bought a VX500. I was excited when it came. When I tightened the strings a tailpiece peg popped out. So I sent it to a setup guy and he tweaked it, reset the tailpiece & bridge and stuff but it still had a horrible action. He said he did all he could. I was going to dump it on Craigslist when I just said I'd try to adjust the neck myself. After 1 1/2 turns the neck now plays like butter and it's now the guitar of my dreams. MORAL: You might have to REALLY tweak it, but with a little patience and luck you can literally have a fantasy-level guitar. Right now as I play it, I don't think I could even WISH for a nicer guitar... It's basically everything I wanted, and possibly more. A PERSONAL ASSERTION: Cost does matter... A badass $300 guitar is MUCH more desireable than a $3000 guitar... Just me, but this is the one.
I bought a set of Van Halen VEH pickups from GFS for my squier contemporary, and they sound amazing. They're everything you'd expect, with sustain for days.
I bought one of the Earl Slick Tele’s. It’s killer. When it arrived, the neck was broken. Sent them a picture and they shipped a replacement that same day.
@@nraugseem2 dude they're all made in china, that's a given at this price. But it doesn't matter where a guitar is made - a good guitar is a good guitar.
GFS pickups are insane value because they stand toe to toe with many “boutique” brands. I’ve been using them since around 2008/9. And I lots of parts if you’re into hot rodding guitars. Highly recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
@MAGUS I don’t buy anywhere near as much as I used to but o never had that problem. That being said most of my dealing was over 5 yeas ago ind I do believe they’ve grown much bigger since. They had really good customer service so message them with compliants and I bet they’ll take care of you.
Own the same model but with a maple fret board. What I can say from my experience is that the frets were rounded nicely. With that said my burst was a lot darker, the frets needed leveled and my treble volume knob was installed kind of crooked. With all that said, after a level job it felt amazing to play. Still one of my favorite guitars to pick up. I've experienced 0 issues so far with the FR on it when it comes to staying in tune. The knob I live with. It's a really inexpensive guitar and it play's really well. If you're curious about GFS pickups they're honestly not bad, I'd say it's what they're most known for. I'm using the ones in this Xaviere and I have a set of their hotter HB's in an older Ibanez of mine and honestly it sounds great. The Xaviere guitars and the GFS pickups are really worth a look specially if you're on a budget! Great review Max!
$289 with split coil and great fretwork?! You could install a Vega Trem, double price of guitar, but still be around $600 for an axe with a real maple cap and gorgeous. Good find!
Bought a 500 with a fractured neck for 169!Simple repair on a beautiful green burst!Replaced some parts,14" radius roller bridge, strings of course!Loving it!!
Thank you for this video. I've been curious about Xaviere guitars. I like GFS pickups, I use them in some of my guitar builds. The quik plug system is really cool. This guitar is now on my radar.
That purple burst is beautiful. You're right to say that a lot of companies claim that their push/pull pots do the job, but don't. I found this one did a great job with the coil splitting. Awesome demo dude!
Don’t own one of the guitars but I did switch out the electronics for one of their pre-soldered harnesses and two of their pickups. One is the kwik connect version of their Alnico 5 fat pat humbucker. The other is the gfs pro alnico 2. One of the cool things that they offer are conversion kits to make any pickup kwik connect. Love the sound.
I have a xaviere guitar, their version of the telecaster. My sense of it is that it is about on par with a Squier generally. It needed a little attention on the neck, as would be expected. It came with a dented neck pickup, which GF replaced, no problem. Wasn't too impressed with the tuners, so I replaced them with some inexpensive locking tuners and some nicer string trees, which I think was fine. Very playable, and it might be the best sounding guitar I have.
I dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Jalen Orion I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Nice Bugera. I have one and always get a kick when I see someone with one. I was thinking about a guitar like that... But then I put an EMG 81 in a telecaster and I think I'm done with Les Paul style guitars.
Thanks for the video. Have seen your Chibson reviews and you obviously know your stuff. I thought like these Xavieres were a crazy good deal, glad to see you give your seal of approval! Again, really appreciate your work reviewing these guitars that people can afford!
I purchased a green one after watching this. Man, you are not joking when you talk about it’s quality. Plus the Floyd Rose is an awesome addition. I got the $249 version. I put in a set of Dragonfire Vintage Buckers and this thing is now one of my top go-to axes. Thx!
I have the pro 500 and the pro 840 Tele and yes they are sweet. I had to force myself to put the 840 down after I did a string change which I do immediately after a purchase
I bought a PRO500 Less Paul last week in lemon drop..it's FLAWLESS!! Best looking guitar I own..and I own a few! The only thing I could find that I wasn't totally happy with, is the three position switch feels a little mushy..but works just fine. Plus, it has split pickups as well.😀 I love it!!
I soldered in a $6 Musiclily switch from Amazon and it was night and day. It was 3 leads and a ground to solder, really easy. The cream tip matched too.
I've got GFS vintage extra hot humbuckers in my epiphone explorer. The gfs pickups are a great upgrade from most stock no name pickups and a pair of them is usually less than $80.
I just got my black smoke in today and I was concerned after watching some of the you tube videos… WOW… what a nice playing beautiful guitar. Other than the g string had popped out, I popped it back in, and it tuned up nicely. As far as the action goes it is sweet, pretty low. I could not be happier with it, playing through a Marshall 15 and it sounds great!
Man I might have to stop watching your videos. I have bought 5 guitars since I subscribed to your chanel, a few days ago!! lol Seriously tho, love your chanel, love your presentation style, absolutely love and enjoy listening to you play! Thank you for all the information you share! You have inspired me to start playing again!
So I recently bought a pro 900, the ES335 copy. I must say I'm impressed. I would say it's at least as good as the Epiphone copy for less money. Binding and fretwork are very good. The binding in the f holes are good but not great. But it plays great, and I think their pickup exchange or replacement method is a great new innovation, as long as their pickups are quality. My next purchase will probably be the one featured in this video when the color I want is in stock.
Thanks for the very nice review and excellent demo! I just bought the Pro 500 version, which has no trem (in the lemon-drop finish) and I think it's an excellent guitar for the money. It came nicely set up and intonated. The fingerboard is quite beautiful black walnut (it has a semi-polished finish). Fret ends are smooth with no sprout. I love Guitar Fetish's Kwik-Plug system. I have a Tele-style guitar from them that was so easy to upgrade the pickups, and their better/higher-priced pickups are still very reasonably priced.
seriously cool watching you improve with your playing. and i just bought one of these guitars, thanks a max million.:) update: guitar needed some minor work, filed the neck down for the nut and action was higher than hell. changed out the pickups...pretty decent now.
Just bought a Xavier pro 550 gloss black with maple fretboard and black trapezoid inlays. Purchased some gotoh keystone tuners, and guitar heads metal mania humbuckers to drop in it.
i have a lot of their pickups in stuff. the crunchy and fat pat are .. excellent, super versatile pickups that hang just fine with duncans and dimarzios.
Had an xv700 red sparkle. Played and recorded terrific with no mods. Wish I had kept it. Sadly no current offerings in red sparkle. The GFS pickups are terrific. I have multiple sets in several other guitars and highly recommend them!
we asked for it you bring the goods!.. nice job pointing out all those specs.. I like Xavier guitars for value for sure but they can be hit or miss on some finish details.. but if that does not bother you.. shred on.. great job treating all budget guitars for what they are man.. !! love it.
I own one of the Xaviere Jazzmaster guitars and love it. They are a great budget buy company and I will be trying some of their pickups and parts, since I have the kwikplug system as well. Thanks for all the good reviews you do.
Wowmax I am glad I came across this video of yours that you did about 10 months back I am amazed at the sound and quality and looks of that Xavier LP style guitar you are playing. That's exactly what I have been looking for I have been looking online for several months I've seen all the Glen Burton's and all the Monoprice and all the other LP standard style guitars out there but this one really does it for me I am definitely going to order one thank you for this video max. Take care man have a good week.
I have this exact guitar, and now that I'm looking at someone else play it, I think I will go ahead and replace the (clashy orange) knobs to something either black or transparent speed knobs. Also, I had to push the bridge back to the 2nd set of retention screw holes furthest from the pickups because the intonation would be sharp.
I recently purchased a Xaviere Pro 500, which is the basic single-cut without the double-locking vibrato (it's not a trem, regardless of what the industry wants us to call it). Instead, it just has the stop-bar tailpiece. Mine is in that classic "TortoiseBurst" finish, which looks a fair bit like an Iced Tea burst or a Caramel burst. The only issue I have with it is a bit of buzzing on the low E string, which I can't exactly correct for by raising the bridge. I figure I'll have to get out the level some time this week and see if I need to file a fret or two. Otherwise, it's a fine guitar for the price. It really reminds my of my Michael Kelly Patriot, but with a more classic LP-style cut to it.
I had gotten the Xaviere semi hollow les paul style with p90s. It arrived unplayable and needed a complete fret level, nut had to be pulled out and reset and filed down, and the frets stuck out through the binding. I was able to do this stuff and when done it was a very nice playing instrument. The impression that I've had is that they have stepped up the quality control recently. I may take the plunge again. Mine was a purple quilted top that was quite stunning. I ended up selling it as the P90s were not quite my cup of tea.
I know, I've been watching em for months. Thanks for giving it away, Max. Lol, j/k. They're excellent. The neck tenon comes all the way to the first pickup cavity. The maple top is over a half inch thick. Frigging guitar is exceptional for the value.
One more, man. When you do have that loose trem bar problem, take a spring, one about the size of the ones in click-type ball-point pens, unscrew your trem bar, drop the spring in, and screw your trem bar back down.
That's funny , I bought the model he is showing and it would not stay in tune had frett buzz on some of the frets and had 2 chips on it. TOTAL TRASH! I sent it back.
I have a Xaviere Lp with the natural flame maple top and maple neck, its one of my favorites to play. The kwik connect pickups are awesome no more soldering.
I've been looking at some of those guitars and this video makes me really want one now. They have some nice stuff, and inexpensive too. Definitely putting this on my xmas list.
I bought one of those last year. It's a really nice guitar. I gave it to my grandson because I wanted him to have a good guitar to start with before I give him something along the lines of an American Fender.
I own the same guitar but in blue burst it performs very well as u said especially considering the price wich was 320 out the door ..the guitar is pretty heavy aside from that it can compete with guitars 2/3 times its price all and all u cant go wrong with this 1
Super cool axe! 😎👍👍 I definitely MUST have one of those! It looks amazing, sounds fantastic and the price won't break my bank! Unbelievable guitar, Max! Oh, and it's an LP style with a Floyd Rose! I'm sold! 😁👍👍🎸🎶
I own one with out the tremolo, and love it. I didn’t know they made one with a tremolo. I’m tempted to buy this model instead of a Strat because I can’t find a Stat with all these features under $300. Dudes, this guitar is not only beautiful but it sounds awesome to me. I had to adjust some of the frets so if you can follow a UA-cam video on how this is done you won’t need to spend the money getting it properly tuned and adjusted. This is a Diamond in the rough!! Beginners and intermediate players, buy one!
From my experience owning the white one it’s good to play only real thing I’ve made is upgraded the cheap tremolo to a Floyd rose original and it plays really well so I say go for it
I got an Xaviere guitar one time that had all sorts of issues with it and despite calling Xaviere about it on the day I received it, their customer service guy refused to take it back. He just wanted to argue with me about it. I was able to track down the CEO's number and call him directly, and was finally able to organize a return through him. It was such an unpleasant experience I haven't touched Xaviere or GFS since.
I bought a strat style and I love it, also I got in touch with the customer service and I had great results. Before anyone says why did I have to get in touch with customer service it was because I wanted to change my humbucker pickup to coil tap and so I did without any trouble.
Love your videos Max very well done and really good presentations and awesome playing as well thanks to you I just ordered this guitar thanks I can't believe these inexpensive guitars oh my!! Would like to order a couple other ones also especially the Firefly but don't have a lot of room

I've got GFS vintage extra hot humbuckers in my epiphone explorer. The gfs pickups are a great upgrade from most stock no name pickups and a pair of them is usually less than $80.
Just purchased a PRO500. No tremolo bar but a beautiful turquoise finish.
The best feature on this guitar is the plugin pickups. When you change the pickups no soldering.
Man I might have to stop watching your videos. I have bought 5 guitars since I subscribed to your chanel, a few days ago!! lol
Seriously tho, love your chanel, love your presentation style, absolutely love and enjoy listening to you play!
Thank you for all the information you share! You have inspired me to start playing again!
I love their quick connect system. The actives sound really nice!
Thanks Guitar Max,you hit it "outta the park"on this one !
I have one of the first gens with the funky headstock..its a really great guitar.....
My I love this channel! Thank you Max!
Just bought the Tele version, love it so far.
Such a beautiful guitar
That cool guitar looks and sounds amazing very smooth distortion! Great playing btw!
You are the only review on this guitar I can find on yt... Thanks I've want this guitar for along time. I'm gonna get one now...
check Darrell Braun's channel. ua-cam.com/video/7LKgk0q8hhE/v-deo.html He gives more of a technical review
Per Darrell Braun’s review it’s not a maple veneer top. He opened it up to show was 1/2-3/4” top. 👍🏻
Just snagged one of these to try out. Same model but all black
Had an xv700 red sparkle. Played and recorded terrific with no mods. Wish I had kept it. Sadly no current offerings in red sparkle. The GFS pickups are terrific. I have multiple sets in several other guitars and highly recommend them!
Just in time for Christmas eh, Max!! This will be on my wish list.
Do you happen to know if the post spacing is the same as a Floyd? It would be nice if one could just be dropped in if needed.😬
we asked for it you bring the goods!.. nice job pointing out all those specs..
Maybe knobs to match the binding.
You are amazing and the way you break your videos and sites down, makes me love you more
I know, I've been watching em for months.
Damn, hope I fare better. I've finally got one on the way, and just saw your comment.
Unfair demo. Max can make anything sound great 🙂
Love that purple burst.
I own the same guitar but in blue burst it performs very well as u said especially considering the price wich was 320 out the door ..the guitar is pretty heavy aside from that it can compete with guitars 2/3 times its price all and all u cant go wrong with this 1
Very cool! I'm curious about the Xaviere acoustic guitars. The look great!
I've had two models. One basic and one Rich Tonewood in walnut. They're nice guitars.
@@mervroland5893 Thanks! I might check one out!
Loving the purple burst
Damnit! I finally get my hands on a Firefly LP and now I'm obligated to get this guitar as well lol
You won't regret it. I got the non trem version and it plays like a $600 guitar
You can't compare these to Firefly. Xaviere's are great instruments
A Man can never have too many guitars, Brandon. Go for it !
@@TheMerc1950 Hi can you please a link on the guitar you got.
@@mervroland5893 what are your opinion on the Wolf guitar
Im hearing alot of these stories but if you payed with paypale, it shouldint be too hard getting your money back.
I bought a strat style and I love it, also I got in touch with the customer service and I had great results. Before anyone says why did I have to get in touch with customer service it was because I wanted to change my humbucker pickup to coil tap and so I did without any trouble.
Was waiting for a green XV555 but couldn’t wait any longer, got an orange transparent, still very cool. Great review!
Love the Rubric scoring method description. +5 points to you Max.
I love how all these newer budget friendly guitars have mahogany bodies!
I bought one today. Can't wait to see how it plays. 👍
Have fun!
I would love to hear the all black power/crunchy rails GFS pickups in that purple burst
Love your videos Max very well done and really good presentations and awesome playing as well thanks to you I just ordered this guitar thanks I can't believe these inexpensive guitars oh my!! Would like to order a couple other ones also especially the Firefly but don't have a lot of room
Got Xavier teles....dialed in sounds great on tube marshall gfs pickups little bright til lowered treble side....good now am getting a slick telecaster
NICE! That was SMOOOTH as usual
i cant believe im gonna say this but this is my dream guitar! it has everything i wish for
Really liked your review. I think the fact that it comes with a floyd setup for that price is really nice considering a floyd by itself is about that price now days not including installation. Very cool....
Try the GFS semi-hollow version of it . Once you put some decent Alnico pickups it sounds insane.
The pickups that come in them are alnico 5
@@AislingPhoenix lmao I know this dude bought them without looking at the spec sheet 😂
@@PragmaticDany he means upgraded. I hope.
@@AislingPhoenix the single cuts come with Crunchy PATs which are ceramic. Very similar to Gibson 496R and 500T. Love that pickup.
@@mervroland5893 I was confusing the crunchy and the fat pats. Same output just different magnets
Love the playing in the beginning!
