Over the past decade I've worked through out Louisiana a lot and the first thing I think of is food. The best food to me and it's my opinion so not everyone will agree but the best food comes from Louisiana.

    Considering that the bible bans eating shellfish, deciding to make crawfish while leaving church is a bit hilarious.

    • @catboyzee
      @catboyzee 10 років тому +3

      True, it is kinda of funny. OTOH the shellfish ban is an Old Testament Mosaic law meant to prepare the Israelites for the Promised Land. God clarified things in Acts 10:15.

    • @voidandnon-2530
      @voidandnon-2530 10 років тому

      Acts 10:15 says nothing about shellfish. Its makes much more sense that you would like to eat shellfish and also be a christian though.

      @eduardodimasjr.2473 10 років тому +1

      Don't worry, eating shellfish is ok for Christians. Maybe not all see it that way, as some may have a different personal opinion about it, but it is. Enjoy, and God bless you!

They won't "Cleanse their system" in that short amount of time... Not a vegan or anything, i eat meat like most do but i hate when ppl don't respect their ingridients, they are still living things...

    Hey Cajun. I did this method, maybe it's because I didn't out them in an ice chest, but my crawfish has never been consistent! One batch will be easy to peel, one will be hard to peel and the crawfish were mushy (they were alive before) I saw another video and the cooker put them in an ice chest also. Any suggestions?

    “Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams you may eat any that have fins and scales. But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales-whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water-you are to regard as unclean. And since you are to regard them as unclean, you must not eat their meat; you must regard their carcasses as unclean. Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be regarded as unclean by you."

      "Water of the SEAS"? If we were to look for another rebuttal besides the Old Testament law is abolished, could we say that because crawfish come from lakes and rivers that they are technically not of the sea?
      (River leads to the sea yes, but it isn't the sea yet I suppose).
      If I'm a dumb idiot, then I'm sorry for being a meticulous idiot.

    • @GabeSweetMan

      Right but I think it was a law that was created as a result of people dying/getting sick from food poisoning because they had no earthly clue about sanitation and how to prepare them before eating. It's an outdated law from an ancient age, but it shows how people justified why they did or did not eat certain foods.

      It's necessary if you don't want the crawfish to literally taste like shit. Because the crawfish must have their stomachs and intestines completely evacuated so you're not eating their undigested last meals and their fecal matter.

    Man oh man, those bad boys look good. I'm up in Washington and missing home right now. How come you didn't throw a layer of dry spice seasoning over in the ice chest on top of em while they were good and hot? Tony's on Plank in Baton Rouge is your one stop shop for a good boil.

    hii(: I'm from Louisiana so this question might be dumb lol, but we're so used to buying ours already boiled. So I wanna do my first boil, but I have a few questions(:
    How many pounds did you use & how many people were there? & how much did y'all spend?
    Thanks(: I just don't want there to be too many or not enough for about 15-20 people.

  • @shack11203

    Question.. if u want to make more than one batch. can you use the same boil or broth from the last cooking. or is it recommended that you make a new pot of seasoning?

  • @analise6573
    @analise6573 12 років тому

    Since the crawfish at the top were the only ones to actually come in contact with the salt, does that mean they were the only ones that purged? Or does the salt water have the same effect, after you filled it back up? Great video!

    It's strange how few people eat crayfish (we call them "kräftor"). Boiled with some sugar, some salt, some dill. Excellent meal. Ours' arn't ready untill late summer/fall, I guess that's temperature for yah ^^. Great video Blaze, always like your channels mix of gear and good eating.
