Now THAT is a camping spot! Love your meeting with the guys. When I was finishing high school, I hiked the Appalachian Trail through Shenandoah National Park with a friend. It was my first big adventure, and more years ago than I would ever want to acknowledge. Seeing myself so many years ago in those guys with their excitement and sense of adventure was awesome and so nostalgic. I had many more adventures over the next decade or so after that, but life got in the way. I'm getting close to retirement now and trying to get back into those little adventures, albeit less challenging. I am not even close to being in the physical condition necessary to tackle anything quite so difficult as the Colorado Trail, as much as I wish I was. And perhaps at my age, I never will be again. But one doesn't need to have high elevation and massive vertical feet to have adventure. You've inspired me. So much so that, for the past few years, I have taken to riding my bike to commute to work. I'm at work now in fact... don't tell anyone! Rode 12 miles to get here. Even that little commute is a daily little adventure in itself. Rain, Sunshine, Wind, Cloudy Days, always different, and always relaxing. Moral of the story? Get out there. And it doesn't have to be the Colorado Trail or a cross country trip. It can even be a daily commute to work!
Love your videos. Keep them coming!

I have to say it's so great to see younger people actually pick up the joy of being active. Personally I've always been active, but I'm almost more active now being 40 years old, and to me it's just something I would never change for anything. Right now my bike is just dead weight because my brakes are shot, so have to wait for some new one's and so on, but I still got my legs and some shoes.

Make every day count, do what you really want to do, everyday, everyday, everyday. This is some dirty I heard years ago. I believe that life can be an adventure even in the little things in life like taking a short road trip or planning your day even at home. I am 74 years old and went through a bout of cancer over the last 2 years but I am getting well and plan to walk the Appalation trail for the American Cancer Foundation. I watched a family of 8 do just that and I told myself that if they can do it, so can I. That family's vlog is To The Treeline, with Ben Crawford and Family. Their main vlog is Fight for together. Keep on keeping on and just be you cause you are a positive messenger in showing people how to REALLY LIVE THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY. God bless you Ryan.

First of all, the Stage Stop! I owned property about 5 miles from there and lived in the area for 15 years. I could tell you stories about what all went on in that place, lol :) The Hayman fire; it was so tragic and it's a testament to how long it takes a forest to grow back. I drive down 67 fairly frequently to get in some hiking. My favorite state park so far is Mueller (haven't visited every state park yet but plan on it!). If you haven't biked or hiked there yet Ryan, I highly recommend it! Really enjoyed this episode as I'm familiar with the areas you biked thru and it brought back some good memories!

I never comment on UA-cam videos, but had to here! I just completed the CT this year, I had done segments 1 through 13 in 2020 and then I did the remainder here in 2021 and just finished a couple weeks ago. My girlfriend was prepping to do some segment backpacking of the CT and took a little exploratory trip into Lost Creek about a month ago. I was just watching your Lost Creek detour video, and was making some lunch at the same time and just happened to glance over when you were talking to Stan, well my girlfriends car is in the background when you were talking to him!!!! I called her into the room and said oh my God do you recognize that! Ghetto bike rack winch strapped to the top of a cheap car rack I had bought from Walmart so that she could transport my bike and myself out to drop me off since I recently sold my truck! Her little tiny car!! We were dying laughing. I love your videos I was watching them prior to when I got onto the CT in 2020 as I had no experience with bike packing. I found the CT to be incredibly beautiful and incredibly hard. When you referenced 9/10 on difficulty I can completely agree. Five times throughout my journey for instance, I strapped my bike to my backpack and just carried it up the steepest of the hills.I liked watching your video when you were leaving Wellington Lake I specifically recall that very hill, and when you were riding on Matakat Road, I absolutely love it up there I think it’s one of the prettiest sections of the CT in fact, But I really like rocks so I might be a little biased when I can see them. I’m putting together a video from my experience as well. Thanks for all the content that you share!

Another classic Duzer video full of excellent story telling, shooting, and editing. Oh, and you even read Isabella Bird's writing. What a woman! Believed to be the first woman to climb Longs. She held her own around tough as nails mountain men. Lived in Estes Park when it truly was a "park", as high mountain meadows were called way back then. Ryan, you should read "A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains". Great read. May make you think you were born way too late! Stay safe always, man. All of us love your stuff. :-)

My wife and I rode the trail in 95, there was an active gravel pit operation outside Lost Creek Wilderness that forced a diversion where we got lost for a bit. We walked and pushed the bikes up some horrendous single track and rode out Waterton Canyon, rode up thru Denver to Ft. Collins, up Poudre Canyon and spent the next 4 months riding around the West. One of the best years of our lives. My wife still rides her 1993 Rockhopper from that trip. She’ll never upgrade or sell it. And the great thing, we never saw one fire that whole time. Now, how could you randomly do a trip like that without getting smoked out at some point? The West is on fire most of the year. Sad beyond words.

Really enjoying this outing , and excellent footage which sadly brought home the aftermath of a massive wildfire way back in 2002 which burned an area encompassed by more than 138,000 acres. In total, 600 structures were lost (133 residences, one commercial building, and 466 outbuildings), causing more than $42 million in housing losses. A total of 5,340 people were forced to evacuate; at one time, 14,000 were told to stand by for evacuation.

One of your best, stunning scenery, great music, stellar editing. You really conveyed a deep sense of being in solitude and in tune with yourself and your surroundings.

Absolutely stunning video shots! I'm hoping/planning to run segments 1-3 (41ish miles) as a final end of summer/pre-winter season trail run. What I didn't realize until I watched your video was how close Wellington Lake is to the end of Segment 3. Anyways, great video! Can't wait to watch Episode 3.
