I really hope that you enjoy the upcoming Colorado Trail series…the beauty is gonna knock your socks off! And how about Chiweenie, should I steal him from mom and take him Bikepacking? ;)
The level of stoke from the young lad Baylor. Way to make his day Ryan. You know he will rember that ride for the rest of his life. The way you are humble to your fans is awesome.
Ryan, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I friggen love your channel. Nothing but success for you is my hope. You're an inspiration to us all. Cheers.
Shout out to Baylor. The 'Get out There Kid'. You keep doing what you're doing buddy. Your future is bright. Regarding the car thing. It's tough not having a car, and from the very first one, they have provided ever improving, fast and long distance transportation, prior to which, the best alternative was a horse. The thing is, and I don't think this will be an issue for you, but don't put the bike away when you start driving a car. Keep getting out there for the thrill, and most importantly, for the exercise, and never give it up. This is coming from a 50 something year old long time mountain and now mostly road biker, and it's the best form of non-boring exercise there is - IMO. Bright future buddy!
Thanks! Ryan I have been a car lover my whole life. Thanks to you my wife and I are on our first bike packing trip and it is amazing. I follow many channels but none of them push me for adventure like you do. Keep up the good work 🙌🙌🌯🌯
Yes! New Van Duzer bikepacking trip through the beautiful mountains! I'm already quite hyped to get out and run on the flat trails near me, but your videos always get my extra hyped Ryan. Thanks for sharing man!
The Waterton Canyon trail was what convinced me after over a decade to get myself a bike. I have been trying to ride the trail from the parking lot to the Bighorn Sheep point every weekend.
You Ryan bring tears of joy with ur humanity and humble with ppl and nature. Your MOM so lovely. MOMS the the only person whom giving uncondtion love and care. I love you man and sure waiting for the remain videos of this trip. Full support 👍🏼👍🏼❤️
I really want to run each segment of the Colorado Trail. Maybe not run it all at once but over time claim that I've run every segment of it. I can't wait to watch the rest of the series! Thank you Ryan for bringing us along the journey!!!
Go little triangle go! (Thinking of you as the little triangle on your Wahoo) I'm loving watching you enjoy this trail in your backyard and your pure joy in every moment. Ride on Ryan, ride on.
My wife and I rode it in 95 from the other direction.A lot of walking and pushing the bikes. But we also had some amazing days of riding forest service roads and singletrack. It is probably a different trail today. Great video we look forward to more.
Wowser! Another doozy of a Duzer video!! Your joy of living, celebrating other people, and sense of adventure are truly inspirational. Stay safe, rubber side down, remember Rule #1 is FUN!
A 9 on the pain scale you say?! Nothing you can't handle Duzer! I hope you found the adventure you were craving in your own backyard of beautiful Colorado!
Mom’s are the best. Baylor (a gift card what a nice guy) the next generation. 👍 Beautiful scenery. Love the sounds of the weathered granite under your tires. (Good Year, where the rubber meets the path.)
I'm a new viewer/subscriber, but I gotta tell you...your videos are so well put together and calming. Sometimes I'll just watch some of them to relax. Thanks.
Just got back from CO a couple days ago. Stayed in Ned but visited Boulder a couple times. Beautiful beautiful beautiful place. Thanks for sharing, my friend.
"Inspirational" is not enough to describe what those videos of yours are, man! I am a 44 years old man, bikepacker and i also at some point of my life decided that i don't want to learn to drive and own a car. My mom also usually driving me to the starting point of my bikepacking adventures. You're not the only one but you sure are our "ambassador"! :)
I think we should distinguish between owning & daily driving a car versus learning and knowing how to drive. Everyone should learn how to drive. It makes you a better cyclist. And the reverse is even more true - being a cyclist makes you a better driver. Encouraging our youth to not learn to drive will severely limit their fture opportunities in life. Just being able to drive when necessary is a very nice benefit. And when traveling, being able to rent a vehicle is very worthwhile. (I rented a small car in Europe and was in Italy during a rail workers strike - avoided catastrophe!) Being there as a designated driver is a good thing. Driving in an emergency is another big plus. And riding a motorcycle requires "learning to drive," as anyone, especially youth, would NOT want to learn on two wheels, but rather a car. Learning everything involved in driving is NOT ideal on two wheels: WAY more power, more dangerous in emergency situation and and most importantly, complete vulnerability. But riding a motorcycle is something everyone should know how to do. Although dangerous, motos are amazing. And then there's the performance driving that people would miss out on. Cyclists make excellent performance drivers - they've learned the basics by necessity and are naturals on the track. Asking a person to miss out on all of this is not the best advice if you ask me.
Hello! from the Philippines, I love watching your videos and it's inspiring me lot to take a bike packing journey. I am a hiker by passion but because of pandemic most of mountains here are closed. I miss so much the outdoor but my bike is fixed gear just for city ride, so my plan is to save money first to build my dream bikepacking/touring bike and take the journey of a lifetime. And lastly I am grateful that we have the same perspective about not having a car, for me because I love walking, running and cycling. Ride safe. Kudos!!!
I’m glad you too an extra belt. You probably won’t need it now that you packed it. I’m interested in your battery bank. It’s been something I have been looking into for my bike/photography adventures. Stay safe
Ur such a great role model - bringing the world together thru' biking! I love it! And your mum is cool! Reminds me of my dear mum(RIP). Was always my No.1 fan whatever my adventure. What the world needs now, is LOVE, SWEET LOVE! Love your work! Stay safe and upright! Lorenzo from Down Under.
Good luck Ryan …following your latest adventure from London,. Can’t believe a Colorado lad hasn’t done the Colorado Trail! No crashes, no flatters, no whamies, no broken belties 🇮🇪🇬🇧🇺🇸
Hi Ryan! Your new upload video always accompanies me for enjoying my breakfast and coffee☕. Also starting my day. Because we have different time zone and the interval is 18 hours. So happy I have energy supplies and inspiration by watching you videos. Waiting for your next adventure Ryan🤠 and waiting Mira and John to go with you again💓 thank you from Indonesia🇮🇩
Thumbs up for the setup. This is exactly how I ride: camelback with water and drone. I use the Sawyer for a water filter but that steri pen looks small and light. I may have to make the switch.
I am a new patreon of yours. I've never done this before, only for you Ryan. don't know why it took so long. You give me so much this channel is my source for positivity and motivation. How much is that worth? Well it's priceless. And far less than the $5 a month that I payed. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so excited about the Colorado trail. Can't wait. It's going to be tough going, but what kind of a adventure would it be if it didn't humble you a little in the beginning. It was nice to see your mom it's been awhile and I like her. She did a nice job with you. I have the same osprey backpack. I personally love the tool box on the bottom. When I first found you I could hardly believe it was possible. Someone so positive?? But now I'm a believer and I just want to say YOU BRING VALUE TO MY LIFE.
WOW!! Thank you so much for your kind words. It means the world to me. And thank you for your support on Patreon, it truly helps keep this channel moving forward. Stay tuned for more my friend!!
Ryan 8.11.21 5:30pm traveled from Green Bay Wisconsin to check out your beloved Pearl St and Peet’s Coffee. I had to bring the fam and check out your playground 😁 Happy riding
I regret watching this, I wanted to binge the entire series :) For what it's worth I'm getting out there, your videos are inspiring, hit my pr of 66 miles the other day, looking to do the Capital Trail (Richmond to Williamsburg) in Virginia, It's 102 but another 16 to get there and back! But I can and will do it soon! No whammies and gl sir!
I've ridden (road bike) with a lightweight backpack and for anyone thinking about this, my advice is to get something with a mesh separator or foam padding that is very breathable, or stick with frame packs. The lack of air circulation on your back traps a lot of heat and humidity. Perhaps Ryan, you can weigh in with your experience? I think your bike setup is terrific though, large wheels and no derailleur to get caught and damaged.
I have that same Anker power bank... its never let me down and Ive had it for 2yrs and use it every day, BTW- happy trails! Cant wait to see this adventure!
Hey Ryan, thanks for taking us along on another great adventure! Some of the things that have kept me with your channel and so looking forward to the next video: Love that you are close to your Mom and how much you appreciate and do for each other! In my book, that sets you above most right there and is a refreshing example of the great big heart you demonstrate over and over, along with your appreciation of the beauty around you, the joy you have in meeting folks and you share it all. Maybe it's time to design a new bike with a bigger bike rack (or just modify the one you have) for your own Mira! As always, looking forward to your next video!
Love the cold bear head snap! Love your videos and your heart too bro. Would love and in the process of getting into shape where I could do one of your kind of adventures!
Hey, my mom drops me off at most RAGBRAIs and i'm also in my early 40s. Nothing wrong with having that mom love boost for the first few miles. Anyway, this one looks like a trail i want to ride someday. Wow, i love Colorado!!!! Such beauty!
I backpacked half of it (other half was the CDT) and man, I can't imagine pushing a bike up those hills. Ran into a bunch of bikepackers and it was amazing they were biking that trail. Looking forward to following this adventure.
Great video, that kid Baylor is a bright young dude, best luck luck to him, and when you said this biking adventure is 9/10 on the Pain-o-Meter scale I thought "ouch" I can imagine the pain and sore muscles just by watching 😳
Great video. It’s videos like these that fuel my desire to get better at filming and editing. Northern WI isn’t Colorado but there are some great rides up here. Thanks fir the inspiration.
I'm very excited to see this series as well. I'm fascinated to see how the trail is throughout the entire series. The trail from the Canyon to Lil Scraggy in the beginning so far looks quite rideable.
I love osprey I really truly truly do they have a lifetime return policy and it's very good. I bought one of their backpacks 15 years ago and it broke one day and they replaced it with a brand new model you can't beat that.
What a fun video Ryan! I love so many things about it. I love your choice of music and how it fades in the background as you narrate 17:30. The beautiful flowers 17:45 , hiking a bike (anyone?) 18:45 and the motivation speech that refreshes the soul 19:30. Thank you for those words of encouragement. Where else would you rather be? We can't wait to see the rest of the series. Hugs to you and the rest of this community!!
Ryan, another great cycling video. I’m impressed by your work. You provide a great advertisement for the American landscapes AND you demonstrate so well what can be achieved with a bike and some spirit. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻
So you are the age of my oldest son, then probably I am the age of your mother. But I was the one saying: 'I don't need a car, (or a drivers licence), I can read my bicycle' when I was the age for driving lessons. And still love riding the bicycle, also touring (and camping) sometimes.
if only AMC could reach moon, im wishing to do a bikepacking trip someday, can't afford to be out for weeks :(. Great video as always, your positivity always bring me a smile :).

Watching Baylor made me remember how fast I was when I was riding at 15..LOL.
Aint no shame in living car free and taking rides from friends and relatives. I admire your commitment to a car free lifestyle.
Thanks!! You’re gonna love this adventure
Ryan, a quick suggestion--bring a spare belt 😂

Flats with all that climbing?
