This is what happens when there is no “ no flatties no crashies and no whammies “. Looking forward to the next episode Ryan. Thanks for yet another great video.
@@duzer I did a 30 mile ride around suburbs of Phoenix and had a blowout 2 blocks from home. Is that a flattie or a whammy? Either way I forgot the chant. I should have known better. Did 40 miles on Saturday and no issue.
Being a papa myself, that was an unbelievably beautiful story. All's we papa's want is to be remembered lovingly by our grandchildren. You have alot of your papa in you. Obviously. Great video thank you
I love how you wear your heart on your sleeve. Silly dances for a birthday girl or talking about your Grandpa. All very good stuff. Be safe and I’ll see you in the next video
That’s my Sunday’s morning set - watching a new video from Ryan and drinking coffee. Thank you so much Ryan for sharing your adventures. Greetings from Calgary ,Canada and hopefully see you on the trail someday!
Hey Ryan, had a fun thought. When you are positioning your camera for passing by shots, if you bring an attachment attached to your camera that could be hammered into a tree, or attached to branches really easily, maybe even something you could elongate then stick into the ground, you would have varying degrees of elevated angle shots that might look cool. Focused behind a leaf or pines or something from higher up. Just a thought 😎 Loving the smiles that you bring and like always enjoying watching your latest adventure. One more thing, I watch your videos right before going to bed because they give me an inner peace and calm before entering dreamland. Thanks for that Ryan and thanks for being you man!
Ryan, it’s so gentlemanly of you to go through all that pain whilst we just revel in all that beauty! Loved the story of your grandad, what a poignant moment it must have been for you when you came across that place where he’d trained.
Ryan, your videos keep me going! Keeping up with your adventures has brought me joy through some of the more difficult times this year- thank you for what you do and please keep being awesome!!
No escuche que dijeras las tres frases que siempre dices al comenzar , no crashis , no webbing, no flaties.😂🤣 gracias por tus videos . Saludos desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 thank you for being transported on a trip, every time I watch one of your videos and adventures, thank you for helping me combat anxiety and depression, I just thank you.
Thank you for sharing the awe inspiring anecdotes of your grandpa with us, Ryan. I can only imagine what an astonishing feeling it must've been to traverse the same land he would have acclimated himself to so many years prior.
12,855! Impressive. You know you're high when you're looking DOWN on the ski resorts! Thanks for sharing the stories about Camp Hale and your grandfather. I think he'd be proud of you and how you memorialized him. Amazing that he was Olympian in 1960! The club I'm a member of were accomplished German & Ausrian skiers back then. Many of our members were recruited to help set up the alpine ski courses at Squaw. My in-laws attended the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. Pretty cool connection.
Thank you for filming this. I can only imagine how difficult it was just to DO let alone film also. Thank you for doing it so that we can all be inspired.
I was a couple of weeks behind you going the same direction. It made me feel better about walking so much when others experience the same thing. The whole experience was challenging and of course rewarding at the same time. I enjoyed hearing people who said they saw you come through. You have became quite the celebrity on the trails. Thanks for capturing the experience.
Awesome. I am glad that you made it for the night where you granddad trained. You always keep it real. May God bless you with his best always. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful stuff. I spent 17 days in Colorado recently in the Segment 7 and 8 areas as well as Silverton, Ouray, and Blue Lakes Trail. Simply breathtaking! Keep riding and keep videoing!
Absolutely loved this video! A birthday celebration and hike a bike. Thank you for bringing some history into your story. How cool your Grandpa was a part of it. Even better, you got to meet and spend some time with some heroes!
That was one tough climb, the 12000 ft elevation scenery was epic. Then to be able to camp where your grandfather trained was just epic and meant to be. Take care and stay safe, Al
I did segment 6 and 7 this past week. Segment 7 kicked my butt! Got caught in a thunder-hail storm 200 vert from the top, sheltered in my bivy. Then I crashed twice on the way down. Got picked up in Copper and headed back to Longmont. Gonna do the rest next year after training my ass off all winter! Great videos, I can’t wait to see the rest! You’ve captured the trail really well!
You are a joy and inspiration 💫 Beautiful videography made all the more amazing by the fact you hold your camera so much while riding those monster trails. What talent, strength, grit, and determination. Be safe and ride on! 🚴
i haven't been up to Camp Hale in many years. Really enjoyed your talk about your grandpa. I just love seeing the trails I used to hike on. Well done, as always!

Thank goodness you were not hurt when your face hit the ground, I bet your helmet saved you from injury 2.) awesome place where your poppy trained, so special you slept in the same location. Thank you, someone who thinks your Amazing!!!!! Christina from Colorado Springs
When I was in Army Airborne School, there were some guys from 10th Mountain Division and I appreciated them calling out to/for each other with a loud "Moouun-tain!" several times a day. Sometimes the videos make me think of what I could have done with a re-up to Ft. Carson.
I agree with Gregory below - you must say the mantra to avoid a curse! Glad you're ok though seriously. Also, fantastic grandpa story - so fortunate that you both had a connection to the area like that and the history. As always, thanks for sharing Ryan. - Larry
Man Ryan, you meet to some awesome people on the trail. To meet Jenny, Krissy, Clare, Abby, and Erica! They are such amazing people. I've always wanted to meet Krissy since she won UTMB. I love her UTMB finishing photos. She embodies happiness in her victory photos, which is amazing considering the extremely hard UTMB course!
Our memories when we were young are so precious, thanks for sharing Ryan. Also Searle Pass - elevation is 3x Ben Nevis (Highest mountain in the UK) - WOW!
I went up and down Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park one day, and I can't even imagine pushing a bike up something like that. I kept thinking...it's going to be so great when I can start down.....wrong! I thought I was going to stomp myself to death. What an adventure! When we finally got back to the car, we all just laid down on the parking lot. Love the videos....Colorado is my favorite place in the world, and I love biking anywhere. I'm surprised your brakes didn't get hot enough to melt your tires going down.
That's cool that you have family, I got left on the side of the road. I have been lost since and then I found my health, wealth, and knowledge of self were all family!
you have very good Mini 2 skills, and love the alpine shots. Those logs looked vary intentionally placed to lockout the trail use on many of your shots the foliage was without tree aligned in liner fashion, strange. GoPro looked go, you should offer it up if it is useable. I am confused when your riding as to what camera you are using, I would guess that it’s the Hero because it is versatile, and horizon leveling, but the clouds don’t look blown and the sound is good, and I am not use to that with GoPro. Happy Birthday Jenny , and lovely dog.

Its kinda comforting to see a local struggle to clock in as little distance as we visitors from the other side of the globe did. But the CT is addictive ... its the perfect mix of punishment and fun. We did it with full Enduro rigs and less rattling gear on the bike to have maximum fun on the downhills ;-) ... our video is not as informative as yours but still was fun to document it - anyway keep up the good camera work.
What was up with all of that decommissioned trail at the beginning? Surely there was a junction of a different trail around it? Seems like it was a very hard but rewarding day! One of the patriarchs of a family in the small town I grew up in was in the 10th as well and fought in Europe in WWII. I guess it was likely he also trained at Camp Hale.
Always enjoying your videos, positive vibes and energy. Now, the issue with the logs on the trail has me thinking they were PURPOSELY placed to disrupt the trail. For what reason, who knows. Stay safe and keep posting, THANK YOU...
