This reminds me of a horrible shoulder experience that I lived with for about a year before it got better. It came from one day of extensive yard work. The next day, I could not raise my arms above my head, button a shirt, or pick up my child. I was miserable. I finally went to an ortho doctor who gave me steroid shots on both shoulders. The pain was noticably less within minutes. The range of motion came back after PT and rock climbing. It took about 2-3 years to get to 95-99% of where I was before the injury. The doctor said it was "frozen shoulders.". That was an awful experience, but I'm glad I came out ok.
yep, hand on opposite shoulder and raise... hurts like a mother. I've been dealing with this for over a year thinking it would just go away. It happened at the gym doing reverse flys, on top of the motion, just an immediate pinching feeling and its felt like someone has been stabbing the sides of my shoulders ever since. REALLY bad first thing in the morning, the more I get moving the less it hurts, but some days it is brutal. Thank you so much guys!

I was diagnosed with acute acromial bursitis of my shoulder by a physical therapist, which I’ve had in both of my shoulders, but thankfully at different times. I could not bear any form of movement in the affected shoulder/arm, even the slightest movement of my arm or hand caused excruciating pain in my shoulder, bringing me to physical tears. I even had to sit in a chair to try and sleep as I could not lie down. This would come on suddenly or with little to no warning, and would last for at least 4-5 weeks at a time. I would not be able to perform any of the movements you suggest, due to the extreme pain, but found your video to be very explanatory, so I now understand the what and the why now. Great info guys thank you.

It also comes with pain near the upper scapula/trap area. A severe burning pain. After 7 months the pain finally wasn't as severe but it's still disabling, I can't use my arm for many things and have to recline or the pain flairs up. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy
@@Freetobeme8181 My MRI showed supraspinatus tendinosis, bursitis, and some fluid on the joint. All supposedly "mild" but you wouldn't know it by the amount of pain. I believe all that's left now is pain from the scar tissue, which is still very bad and I don't know what to do about.

I had bursitis at 24. An orthopaedic surgeon gave me a shot.of Bute (the pain went away almost immediately, stayed away and never came back) Until now at 75, I don't know if it's bursitis. I definitely have that pain under the bone at (almost) the end of my shoulder, but it also goes up my neck. I also have pain in outside middle of my shoulder blade (outside meaning towards the spine) If I walk my fingers straight up I arrive at the point of the pain in my neck I can lift things, even heavy things. The worst pain comes from washing the dishes. It's pretty much a circular or back and forth motion. The pain becomes excruciating to be point of tears. I THINK I got this doing the side plank in the McGill big 3. (Sorry Dr. McGill). Anyone? Thanks in advance.

A couple days later I had a cortisone flare up, but not only in my wrist, my whole arm was flared up I couldn't move it at all. It was painful like it was broken. Four weeks later, which is now, I still have excruciating pain and can't hold anything or do anything. The doctors gave me a splint. I had an x-ray and ultrasound last week which showed tendonitis and bursitis in my arm. They also said the tendon had a big tear in it. Well that was it. They said physical therapy may help but I didn't get any exercises. It's too late sore to put my arm behind my back but I can do the massaging one with my arm straight out. I am in terrible pain for five months between my wrist and arm.

None of these hurt my shoulder, I mainly get pain when doing lateral raises, even the first few degrees of the arc my arm makes start to hurt and just feel “unnatural”

I did all the test doesn’t hurt. But it hurts when I am hitting the heavy bag or doing squats and holding the bar. It’s not much pain but it’s a little sharp pain at the front shoulder. I’m thinking it’s just a light case of it.
Have yall ever heard of shoulder pain that's at random and sometimes it's the left and other times it's the right ? Never both. Can happen a few months apart at times. It can be random but also triggers when cold (the cold really makes it worse). And it's a dull ache that's very painful. Can feel it not only at shoulder joint but it's the whole area around the top of shoulder. It can just sufdenly go away within hours time or by next morning. I've gone to an urgent care and they tried to say it was related to ovarian cysts and never examined me...and the other wanted to see me when it was happening but I could never time it like that. It usually occurs late evening ish but can be during day at times. He thought it could be nerve pain. By guess any ideas? I know you can't diagnose 😅 but I'm curious if yall have heard anything like it before. I don't play sports but did cheerlead and my job can involve lifting. But nothing extreme
What if you can't get your hand to the opposite shoulder to do the test? Normally, I would be able to put my hand on the opposite shoulder, but I can't now. Same with the "lift off" test that you showed in another video. I am not able to get my hand on my back (starting position for the "lift off" test), but ordinarily I would be able to do that. I also cannot get my arm in a 90 degree angle with my hand downward (like the driving hand signal for stop). Instead, my arm stops when it's parallel to the ground. I went to urgent care, and they thought it might be dislocated, but the Xray came back normal. They sent me to an Orthopedic surgeon in their network (which I saw the Physician's Assistant). He said it was Bursitis and gave me a cortisone injection.I had 2 incidents. 6 days ago, I was in bed, and I reached above my head to pull my Purple pillow (has some weight to it). It felt like I had a slightly pulled muscle. 3 days ago, I was eating a cashew as I plopped down into my recliner (I might have been twisting too to pick up my laptop off the end table) during this motion. I felt a pop in the top of my shoulder. I do have an appt with my normal orthopedic surgeon next week. With all of these tests, I wonder what it means if you can't get into the starting position for the test.
i thought my arms and shoulders were normal i thoguht it was normal to have pain in shoulder all the time till i realized it wasnt and i prob have bursitis. Its a bruise like pain in the side of my shoulder going down to my bicep. That whole area hurts
I need your help I am in physical therapy possible sirva case. My shoulder is not boothered but my deltoid seems to forever hurt since the covid shot last october. they are concentrating on the shoulder however its more in the deep muscle of the deltoid where the shot was given.
Since I've been working from home, because of the pandemic, I've been sitting, working at kitchen table. I think the position of my keyboard, angle of arms, all relative to height of table is reeking havoc on both shoulders. Esp the shoulder that hasnt been "frozen" before. Just doing as you said arm out, palm out is uncomfortable. I need to get to a p.t. ha

I have pain in both shoulders it hurts when I have the fan on to cool down and after a while the pain in both shoulders start to hurt it I put a cover around my shoulders it really helps but can't pick objects up with out pain hope you have heard of this and can explain what it is thanks for your videos ❤❤
I also have pain in outside middle of my shoulder blade (outside meaning towards the spine) If I walk my fingers straight up I arrive at the point of the pain in my neck
I can lift things, even heavy things. The worst pain comes from washing the dishes. It's pretty much a circular or back and forth motion. The pain becomes excruciating to be point of tears. I THINK I got this doing the side plank in the McGill big 3. (Sorry Dr. McGill). Anyone? Thanks in advance.
I wish the steroid shots worked for me iv tried different kinds but no more.
i have a lot of pain in front shoulder. physiotherapy, chiropractor nobody can diagnose it. it hurts when i push my shoulder forward, or when i put my arm behind my back. physiptherapy hasnt helped at all so far. any ideas?
How did it start
@@silverfullbuster9177 i don’t know it came on slowly, It sped up when I was reaching up for exercise one day but that’s it. Physio say rotator cuff. Osteopath says ac joint. Chiropractor says it’s a problem with my neck. GP says venerable wear and tear. None seem to be able to fix it
Excellent video very clear and informative. I have those symptoms
BTW, Hi Bob! I know you’re there, I miss you face and your humor!!🙂
I have both shoulders as bad as each other. How do you the exercises when both are so painful
I have problems on both of my sholders.. I dont know what the problem is. I even cant write. My fingers get slipped. Cant hold mobile phone.. always feels like something is bitting my wing muscle.

How long til therapy helps shoulder? Will physical therapy improve shoulder? 2 weeks 2 months live with?😮
I've had De Quervanes tendonitis in my wrist for 5 months now with excruciating pain. I had a cortisone injection in my wrist 4 wks ago.
Nerve run to my shoulder to elbow after my arm move i don’t now iam worried
I have pain with all these and to varying degrees with both shoulders...sooo..I have either tendonitis or bursitis..I think I knew this..but these guys are entertaining..lol
Please help, my pain appears to be from the bottom of the deltoid there is also a lump there. lifting my arm in any direction hurts but as soon as the weight of my arm is supported its fine...
Thanks guys for your videos. I have one of these things you have described going on in my shoulder; could be these two or arthritis or rotator cuff. I have been in much pain for the past couple of days but today for some reason the serious pain has subsided and instead of constant pain I had it's only certain movements. Will these things heal themselves over time or do you recommend a doctor visit which I am really trying to avoid if at all possible?
So did it end up healing on its own ?
@@breezyslive632 Turns out it was my diet that was the culprit. I eliminated sugars and added vegs whole grains-food with lots of fiber and all of my ailments have all disappeared. I feel like I'm in my 30's again and I'm 56.
sadly i think i have a rotator cuff injury, i crashed my bike and landed on my shoulder, inducing the first pain that hasnt stopped for well over 2 weeks now, and then did a bunch of heavy lifting around the house to help out my mother.
Ooh yes I have it it’s so painful ,,
Have had 5 surgeries on my shoulder already, now have another impingement, possibly number 6 might happen!!! Would I lose total strength all together??
Can you speak about The Elbow tendonits bursts, I have that in my left elbow and I stopped training because of it...please help!!
Did u ever heal and how ?
What scan did u all have to diagnose this do u get Ur shoulder scan or upper arm I'm confused which area people have MRI on I've had ultrasound showed this tendonitis in both areas in shoulders and pain also in legs like this so I want to get a proper scan so can anyone inform me of which area is better shoulder or upper arm
I just tell people I have itis (old people's pains)
My pain is in the upper arm, not shoulders.
Can't lift my arm
My shoulder has a pain that never goes away. Ive had xrays their is no damage, it doesnt hurt to use it in any way but theirs a pain on my shoulder that hurts ALL day everyday. Docs dont know what it can be? Any ideas? The last time i saw my doc. He said it was bad posture? But the pain has been with me for over a year now with no resolution 😢
Sure
Wait.. so what is the treatment? I definitely have this. I have had my chiropractor work on it(both muscle work and adjustment) with small amount relief and then quickly returns to pain and discomfort.
How do you treat it I have had it for 2 MOs 😢
Great video, but how do I fix it?

So sorry to hear that. Here’s a video that might help: ua-cam.com/video/p1Ic7ArQgiA/v-deo.htmlsi=7gaFPMXyXGPOjX-u
None of these hurt my shoulder, I mainly get pain when doing lateral raises, even the first few degrees of the arc my arm makes start to hurt and just feel “unnatural”
I had the same thing. Hurts bad when I start to slightly raise my arm to the side and rotate. I can lift my arm above head and even do pull-ups. Did you end up healing? What was the process? Thanks
I wa asked to tie a weight to the end of the stick for strenghtneing so I tied a 1 kilogram salt packet and i perform all the exercises you've demonstrated . However i feel that could be responsible for my lingering shoulder pain . Do you gentleman feel thats a bad idea? Would thank you for your advice.
Bob and Brad I’m 20yrs old and when I walk my back slightly cracks (middle left/lower left) what do I do; please help.
Also when lift my left leg I can’t lift it up slowing/smoothly I just end up going fast/jumpy.
How do I test if I've got it in both shoulders? UGH!
I have bilateral shoulder pain and tricep pain mainly in left arm any ideas ?
The most painful trigger is in the morning. My deltoid hurts but goes away as I di some movements and throughput the day.
ive been suffering with this bs for almost 3 months now!!
8 years.
Me too. Damn face mask.., I couldn't see my feet and I fell down the stairs and landed on my shoulder.
Are those the exercise to fix the problem or just the movement to identify the problem?
I was told that I have bursitis antenna the night is I don't know so a SLAP tear and I also have a bone spur all in my right shoulder
ok but treatment? Mine is hurting the first move you made. Not just ice?
Both my shoulders are screwed!
i thought my arms and shoulders were normal i thoguht it was normal to have pain in shoulder all the time till i realized it wasnt and i prob have bursitis.
Differentiating tendon/bursitis vs other common shoulder problems?
My pain where they are showing it, but on the back of the upper arm.
I need to get to a p.t. ha
Your videos help me a lot as a registered massage therapist to do an excellent job for my patients. God bless you guys!
