      Alto sounds great.. How does QSC K12.2 compare to Alto? I know qsc have 6 year warranty, but they are also more than twice the price of Alto

      Rcf sounds better then both. The art 3 series is more expensive then alto yes, but it blows it out of the water for sound quality, frequency response, punch and presence. Very musical, and sounds better then the more expensive qsc too. Punches above its price like the alto, except its punching in a different class. The extra power of the alto didn't seem usable turned up where as the rcf doesn't flub out at all.

    Respectfully I disagree with you. I had them when I first started and I got lot of compliments on them. I open the cabinet to clean the inside and surprise. They had eminence delta 15lfd. Thats better that any of the Chinese woofers. Like alto and other beginners brands. And if you put a sub they will rock the house and whit a good controller even better.

    Funny, my middle school used these, along with a matching Small Berhinger mixer. This system was used for all school meetings for talk, but they also sometimes played music over them. The mic input was completely messed up, and sometimes sounded like an alien was talking through it! (If anyone knows why this is, let me know.) While they had bass, they needed a subwoofer badly. Also, half the time, the mixer only put sound out to one speaker!
    My current (high) school uses Mackie SRM450 V2s, and a full-blown Mackie 24-channel mixer! Huge difference, it actually sounds great!

    Haha, I can tell ur not enthusiastic about reviewing the Behringer because you've already made up your mind it's a piece of shit lol. I can see ur struggling to say nice things about it. I've had my Behringer B115D for 4 years and it still going strong. I upgraded to Mackie Thump 15a 6month later I sold it and went back to Behringer. The Behringer was cleaner louder and tight with Behringer 15'' subs it kicked ass. I've done a wedding with 300 people, not a problem at all.

    • @welwoodmusic
      @welwoodmusic Рік тому

      Same here! I I have had the B115D for years now, and it's held up! I Still use it when I play live as a keyboard monitor. And this was all beforee I bought a 12" sub for dual FOH use! I had 2 more of them in my cart at Sweetwater, but wanted to try the Gemini 115BT (reviewed by Robin) instead so when they arrived at my door on Saturday, I will run them through the paces with the sub and then review the process here. But if I need to go with my sainted Behringers B115D's , I know where to get'em!
      I did find it interesting how Robin "dissed" the Behringer. But could it be Behringer would make the newer " B215D" worse than the B115 first edition? That doesn't make sense!!

I took it back apart double checked all the wiring everything is in the correct place! Tweeter is mounted in the correct position! There's no smell or anything burning from the Amplifier section! The Woofer works fine! Can you tell me what that could possibly be wrong!

  • @RickHelsham
    @RickHelsham 3 роки тому +2

    Boy I wish I watched this before buying a B112D. I literally just bought one of these yesterday as a back up unit and for very small events. Behringer is a 'name' brand so I didn't bother listening in store and thought it would be on a par with other brands at this entry level price point and should be alright for DJ use. I just fired it up today and did a test. It's exactly as you say. It's loud for sure but it's all about the midrange. The top is harsh at high volume and the bass is almost non-existent in comparison. Had to roll the tops off, cut a large amount of mid range and give the bass a small boost just to make it sound OK. The high/low adjustment on the unit does not provide adequate control to sort out the midrange. I guess it's probably a great PA speaker but not really an 'all rounder' and not great for DJ use. Might have to take a haircut on it, move it on and try something else.

    • @shayneoneill1506
      @shayneoneill1506 2 роки тому +1

      Behringer has a name alright, but its not a good name. They've always had a reputation as cheap nasty chinese made knock-offs.
      They've rehabilitated that reputation a little bit with some of their newer gear, (Ie their synths are actualy pretty great for knock-offs, and the X32s are apparently really good) but this aint new and comes from the bad old days of poorly built gear with terrible specs. Pretty much anything with "Eurolive" in the name is definately something to avoid.
      That said, they purchased Turbosound a while back, and that was a very well regarded brand for PA stuff, and I believe its still that way.

    • @alphanumeric1529
      @alphanumeric1529 5 років тому +1

      B215d is older than b115d. Doesn't mean it is better or worse. Some companies make new products worse because they establish brand value with a prior product that maybe had a little less margin, so they can make that money back on a more cheaply made product. Bit of a ramble there. Hope you understand.
      I have not compared the two. I've HEARD that the 215/2 is maybe a little better than the 115/2, ie, sounds roughly the same, for a lower price.
