    Nice Rig, By the way I have done the coin saving thing for years. I would average about $,800 a year if I never leave the house with coins. I work in a home office now, and don't go out as much so my saving rate is a lot lower. But if you are out and about during the work week you can save about a hundred bucks a month by 1: never spend change when out, always break a dollar and 2: always put your change in a bucket at home 3: Wait a year before raiding the bucket.
    Big Ron

    Seems like active systems like these are pretty convenient as compared to passive systems.

    You need a cable going out of the laptop into a small mixer that can then send the audio via cables to the speakers. You need 1x Jack to Aux cable (from laptop to mixer) then 2 x XLR or Jack cables from the mixer to the Speakers.

    A MONITOR would be used as a second output (or dupe of the mains) for the DJ or band to hear... while the rest goes to the "Dancefloor". that way you dont need to have your MAIN speakers nearby. (This is good for speaker placement to fill a room, but HEARING them would cause a delay-- not good when beatmatching...)

    they are really good. I'm going to get another one this weekend for floor monitor use.

    @djbobby, use a 1/4" Y cable called a tip and ring sleeve connector. it will split your laptop stereo headphone output into 2, 1/4" channels/outputs aka L and R channels.

    @bmxbmx94 A Foldback (not Fall-back) or "Monitor" speaker is a speaker you put in front of you so that you can hear what you are playing/singing. You can see them at the front of stages at gigs. We would be lost and possibly singing out of tune without them. He was going to see if they are good enough to use as the the main PA speakers.

    Yeah easily, the bass response is really good

  • @intheblues
    @intheblues  12 років тому

    @donkartacs14 Yes of course, they are clear, sound big and are very loud if you need it.

  • @intheblues
    @intheblues  12 років тому

    @esj561 all you need is a lead from your computer to the speaker. Ideally go through a mixer to control the volume easier otherwise you gotta set the volume on the back of the speaker, but it will work no problems

    These speakers are good. I still have them. :) Not sure what the Samson Auro is but if you like them go for it :)

    you dont need a mixer to run one of these. just dont send a stereo signal to it or you will get cancellation. that happend to me when i used a stereo plug connector instead of a mono connector. dont get that statement confused with using a balanced connection. in my case i was using an iPod and a balanced connector which sent a stereo signal to it and created a problem. i own 2 of these and am impressed with the sound for the price ratio.

  • @intheblues
    @intheblues  12 років тому

    @ArielsSmartyPants I did, it was an operator error! :-S It wasn't the same as my older mixer so I guess I didn't have it set up the same for level monitoring on the LED

    Would you recommend this speaker for singing is a small band? We usually play in a small room. By the way nice vid! Thanks pal!

  • @intheblues
    @intheblues  11 років тому

    Or if you don't care about the signal being stereo you can just run a headphone size jack cable out of the Laptop and then on the other side run a 3/4 inch headphone jack on the other side which will plug into the speaker.

    Does this not trouble You that we have new Behringer logo on the box and materials inside and old logo on the speaker itself? I've heard that there was a lot of improvement with the logo change and the new logo tagged stuff sounds much better and lives longer :/

    Hello mate, do you think a couple of these will be enough, for a loud vocals, on a rehersal room, ? i mean, loud enough to be heard no problem, over loud acoustic drum set and a 100 watt, guitar amp, and a 100 wat bass amp? so i wont have to yell, if i wanna hear myself , singing? thanx!

  • @intheblues
    @intheblues  11 років тому

    1 microphone. If you need more you'd want a mixer as well

    Nice relaxed review mate, cool... Im thinking about buying a pair of the Behringer B115D 1000 watt powered speakers,, did you ever consider them? Im not sure what the differences are ther that the wattage but the B115D's are cheaper for some reason..

    I'm looking at these, Gemini speakers that are similar, or some Yamaha speakers... I will add a 15" sub someday, but these will be for home use and mostly rock and country.... possibly will get a pair of 12" monitors.
    Looking at upgrading to a Stanton M.203 and adding a Numark NDX400 to my gear as well... any advice... I have an iM1 mixer, using only one TT, a Pioneer CDFile disk changer, iPod, Laptop, and running into home theater with bose acoustimass 10 and Pioneer 12" towers(b)

    Hey man, you shouldn't be plugging your laptop directly into these, use some sort of mixer in between. You can get s simple one for even as low as 100 dollars that will do the trick you're trying to do.

    The Behringer is 500w PEAK! It's RMS output is more like 250w. For a little more money you could get the Proel Flash 8A which is 230w RMS and can throw out 122dB at 1 meter. Proel are a much better company than Behringer and could blow the pants off of that Behringer speaker.

    Hi do you still use these ? and do you think they would handle being used for a drum monitor ? I'm thinking of getting one as opposed drum amp, much more powerful for the price. Only home use not gigging.
