Kevin Butler was only part of the marketing with turning the PS3 around but it was Kaz Hirai that helped Sony. Now it's Mark Cerny that helping Sony especially his role in the industry and lead architect behind PS4 & now PS5. Although Kaz Hirai left as CEO and Jim Ryan took over that role for Sony, Mark Cerny pretty much helped turn Sony around. That man is a genius. Kevin Butler should comeback though. I miss him.

Also between the PS3 release and PS4 release, I think your really need to talk about how Sony tuned the PS3 around from being the loser of that generation to, in the last 2-3 years, easily the best console somehow catching up with Microsoft and releasing some of the best games of that generation . 6:47 - It expanded the online eco-system by offering games that are free to play through it's PS Plus subscription service... *sigh* No. That happened in 2010, not in the PS4 era. It's also a MS thing first. 6:57 - It allowed cross-console play. No. Playstation was blocking this for years. In fact, during the PS3 era, they were the ones pushing cross-platform see: Portal 2, Final Fantasy XIV,. But during PS4 era it blocked it until the pressure got too great.
This video is really misleading, Sony DOMINATED the console wars and never suffered throughout any of it’s generations. They had the Midas touch with every new console they released.

They learned a lot with the disaster launch of PS3. Expensive and NO GAMES the first 2 years. SInce that happened they have been 100% focused on the customer and gaming experience 👍🏻
No games? Resistance, Motorstorm 1 and Pacific Rift, Uncharted 1, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Valkyria Chronicles, LittleBigPlanet. All PS3 exclusive and all released in the first 2 years. Poor research from you there.
@@ashleythomas4112 Uncharted and Ratchet was good, the rest was meh. And a lot of the early games performed bad on the console. It wasn’t until 2009-> and the launch of PS3 slim that things started to turn around
@@dreamer6737 Yes a lot of early multiplats performed bad because the architecture of the system was very difficult to work with and things did turn around with the PS3 slim launch in 2009, true. Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet were way better than meh though and both got very good praise from reviewers. Also Motorstorm was a good, underrated series (well the first 2 games anyway).
Sony TVs are actually better than Samsungs.
Even today 40% of sony's profit comes from playstation compared to just 5% from xbox to Microsoft.
& People think why ps is way too good. When ur company life depends on it then u r going to make good games for sure

Will they succeed? Stupid question. With margins like they have failure is impossible. Will Comcast and CenturyLink continue to overcharge their customers for subpar service? Will Disney make another Star wars movie? Do you have anything better to do?
