Another excellent reading. You guys are awesome 🤘 To anybody who might think Howard was a racist because of some of the "problematic" character dialogue, I'd suggest reading the Solomon Kane stories where he saves African tribes from Barbary Slavers and where he gets his iconic Staff of Solomon from his "blood brother" N'Longa (an African Shaman who saves Kanes life) Howard does not view any people as inferior, he just portrays a harsh and brutal world in his writing.
He's still racist.. and that's okay, he was writing 90 years ago and it was a very different time. I've read a lot of Robert E Howard and the way he's described black people is undeniably racist and he definitely viewed black people as inferior. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy his writings, I'm black and he's one of my favourite writers but we don't need to deny reality.
I'm a black 🖤🐈⬛ guy from Chicago, I'm 37 years old, I'm a retired, home 🏡 owner, I wouldn't consider myself a "dog" but I resonate with this "ivory" woman ♀️👠. Great great narration and story
I like to think of this one as an almost direct sequel to Queen of the black coast and in my own head Cannon part of Conan's ruthlessness is his rage in morning for Belit
"A man need not be a swine wherever he is..." Much better for Society to follow and emulate the sayings of Robert E Howard's CONAN the Barbarian than the civilized trappings and talk of Mario Puzo's Godfather series. Seriously!! Mario SIrSirReal Villarreal.
Bro I never realized how crazy his stories were and it seems like warhammer even took inspiration from conan and cane as the witch hunter variant and even hero quest the barbarian on the cover. Crazy as hell love this stuff. Im off to age of sorcery
Wonderful! My new favourite thing to do is listen to these stories here. and then go find the comic book adaptation to see if it matched my imagination!
Just wait until they "reimagine" the Hyborean Age for a 'modern audience'. They really hate being reminded of a time when being terminally thin-skinned was considered immature instead of a virtue.
WOW! The vitality of these Cybrarian Productions, coupled with the vividness of R.E. Howard's writings is amazing! A real plus includes the female voice: a man imitating a female just doesn't cut it for me. Additionally, it usually seems to me that R.E. Howard is generally making thinly veiled commentary concerning the anthropology of the human race, which gives his writing an added depth. Thanks to one and all at Cybrarian Productions.
Thank you. Yes, we were very glad to get our female voice artist (and we remastered earlier stories to replace the male doing a female voice). REH's anthopology is very interesting, shown well in the history of Hyboria here... ua-cam.com/video/9G86WohAd_4/v-deo.html

This story was always in my mind as an environment of hot sweating barbaric activities where the the issues of nudity was the least of offences. @rigsby86 you can't be racist for writing about things that have actually happened before in real life. Grow up

The place Livia's from is prehistory Italy.
