What I like about the Hyborian Age is that, though a fictional historical era, is so ancient, as if it was some lost classical antiquity, unlike the generic medieval fantasy. His prose was beyond that of pulp stories at his time, and his themes off civilization vs barbarian life, the hypocrisy of civilizations, decadence and self destiny, as well as the world building, made the Conan stories fantastic, some more than others.
@@audiobooky also, other sword and sorcery stories after Conan, aside from Fritz Grey Mouser, are just mere imitations. The creators only saw Conan fighting monsters and sleeping with women, and not the major themes Howard was trying to convey. Also Conan was intelligent, a tactician, a natural born leader, hated magic and slavery, and would save women. He can read and write all the languages of his era. Also, he wore different clothes according to the climate and nation he visited, not just always a loin cloth and boots 👢

VATICAN CITY - Plenary or full indulgences traditionally obtained during the first week of November for the souls of the faithful in purgatory can now be gained throughout the entire month of November, the Vatican said. Also, those who are ill or homebound and would not be able to physically visit a church or cemetery in the prescribed timeframe still will be able to receive a plenary indulgence when meeting certain conditions, the Apostolic Penitentiary, a Vatican tribunal that deals with matters of conscience, said in a notice released Oct. 23.

If you like Howard, read some Karl Edward Wagner, specifically Kane stuff.
Hyborian age, though fictional, is based on early bronze age.

A Witch Shall Have Been Born.
Loved it
beknottin like cables of iron.
a surgin of helplessness.
Conan's benumbed brain.
they had been driven deepward.
were bedotted with villages.
It is hard for me to endure hearing "debauch" Anglicized.
a silvery gleamin.
Oops, Read this one already.
Samessss. But ima listen again. 😊
You should read them all 1000 times...
