      yep, and he's extremely lucky with the 'water-situation': enough fresh water; a basin, that can hold the water, but at the same time is high enough to allow drainage; he can dig a few meters without ending up in ground water ...

      Banter Shrimp, learned from the textbook of a class I took, Survey to World History 2000BC to 1500AD. Super interesting class. Tigris and Euphratres and the Mesopotamia civilization, the Nile and the Egyptian civilization, the Indus River Valley with the Harrappan civilization in modern Pakistan and India, the several Chinese civilizations around the chinese rivers, the one in South America. All formed at approximately the same time, probably not influenced by the others, the really early civilizations that made the leap from hunter gatherer small group nomads to farming, structured government and cities and grew from there.

      I respectfully agree with your opinion
      I started off with Primitive Technology, and although I do still think he is great, this channel and dude from Primitive Life shit on him completely and are on an entirely different level

      Allthough I get what the meaning behind your comment is, I disagree that he "shits on Primitive Technology". I don't believe any of these channels are there to outdo each other, because of different environments and different techniques. But I agree that he's "further", because of the enormous amount of work this guy puts into making these videos. I love all of these channels, and the hard work should pay off for all of them. I hope the revenue from these vids makes them the money they deserve.

    • @enocherone
      @enocherone 6 років тому +2

      @Henrik
      I didnt mean it as shitting on him as his primary goal to outdo the other person, I just meant talent-wise metaphorically they shit on him, sorry bout that :p I completely agree with you

    I remember this whole area being built. It was my first time watching 'primitive' and I was captured... Up all night.!!

    I love your channel. You have taken us from living in a cave, making tools, to relocating in a beautiful mountain valley. What you have shown us in less than a year took thousands of years for the`first peoples. I honor you for taking on this journey. To anyone of the debbie downers out there who finds fault with what he is doing, I challenge you to do what he is and do it better. You can't. so unless you have something good to say to him. don't knock it down.

    I've heard of some people making hole in bamboo, and then placing it in a slow moving stream of water, placing the dirt and seeds in the sections of the bamboo, and that way the seeds get moving water and can grow before transplanting.

      If you are keen on leaving modern society (It's obviously not to everyone's liking), then help me build a city at some sort of island or coastline. It will be based on something right out of the early 18th century, and there will only be "pre-industrial age" technology used. The town is to be built, inspired by Nassau or some other colony in the 18th century Bahamas. Sadly, islands and acreage cost a lot of money, but if we are many, and we all sell our properties, it should be easy to afford the island/land and resources needed. I really don't think it should be a problem to sell your property and unnecessary belongings, if you are planning to leave modern society anyways. A couple of islands I have in mind are, Matana South seas plantation, Igoigoli Island and Whitsunday Island. There are also some coastal areas that can be used. Maybe something along the coast of New Guinea. In New Guinea one can find coastal stretches that are up to 50 km long without any named location showing up on google earth (they show the name of practically everything on google earth) Too be honest coastal areas are likely more viable solutions than small islands. Acreage bought off the mainland is also way cheaper than an island of the same size.
      Remember that if one person gets a couple followers those followers might also get some, and then we have a chain reaction. This is possible guys. If you are interested, then like my comment so other people can see that you are interested. Contact me on email: emiladefoged@gmail.com

    I'm really curious about the wildlife of Vietnam. We hear the birds constantly, but I've never seen so much as a squirrel or snake in your videos. Do you ever come back to the hut to find an unwanted animal guest?

    • @Iwan.Spillebeen
      @Iwan.Spillebeen 6 років тому

      Can't speak for Vietnam but I'm assuming the answer to be a definite yes, I live in Bangkok and we get at least one snake in our garden every year. Those are the ones we see, I'm sure a lot more pass by at night. Squirrels are everywhere, even in the city centre.

      Be careful. If you ask for a shirt and tell people where to send it, you may get a lot more shirts than you want. They might be used shirts but in great condition. We have lots of shirts. I am guessing you need a US size medium but would like to know for sure. You might be a small but it is hard to tell with so little that we are used to seeing being shown for size reference. If you come up with a place for us to send you a shirt, let us know.

Farming is the whole process, spanning initially setting up the infrastructure (irrigation, field barriers, etc.), land preparation (tillage, fertilizing, etc.), preparing the seeds, sowing the seeds, crop management and infrastructure maintenance, harvesting, crop storage and postharvest field management.
