    I was provided with a prototype HDZero Micro camera for the Shark Byte HD FPV System. I took the camera to the race track and tested in both bright and sunny conditions as well as dark and overcast conditions. This camera performs absolutely fantastically and brings a whole new level of immersion to the Shark Byte HD System. Check out this flight footage for an example of what it's like!
    NOTE, these clips were all flown in 4:3 Scaler mode and therefore the DVR is recorded with black bars on top and bottom and then stretched to fill the screen properly. Since the DVR records at 720p, the actual recording of the flight footage was only 541p. That means the actual picture in the goggles is higher quality as you receive a 720p signal from shark byte. Additionally, any compression artifacts seen in this video are non-existent in the actual feed, compression is added in order to save the DVR and then again to upload to UA-cam.
    Enjoy!

      Thanks! I'm flying with a 90% throttle limit in all of these clips.

    Song and flying epic !! A little more perturns and smoother throttle down on some of those sections and you’ll be so tight !! Keep it up was that a broken camera at the end ?

      solid advice man. definitely need to get that throttle control under control lol... the camera was smoked for sure, it sheered the steel screws in the front standoff, the screws were left in the mount and the rest of the camera disappeared to never never land. We looked for it over the course of hours and nobody was ever able to find it.

    Damn this is one of the best display of the HDZero cam. I really like the warmer look of the footage.

    How remote is this location? Your footage has less breakup than even our most rural of flying spots. (Andy's does have wifi on his property and probably the 2 neighboring properties), but you have almost 0 breakup in yours).

      I mean, I guess it's pretty remote because we're sort of isolated with trees around us. That big field we're in has all manner of stuff just outside of the trees, and even the Detroit airport is about 2 miles away. I have some 2.4Ghz wifi running, but nothing that should interfere. If you want to see it look up Signal Seekers RC club in Inkster, MI and you'll see a big blank section in the middle of a city basically. that's us.
      On race day there is some breakup with shark byte, but honestly I sit behind multiple monitors while I fly, so those may be blocking some of the signal. A typical day flying at the field there is 0 breakup with shark byte.

    Vertical FOV looks a lot better, or is that just the work of the 4:3 scaler?

    • @JohnEFly
      @JohnEFly  3 роки тому +3

      This is the new prototype micro camera. The vertical FOV is a little bit better than the Foxeer digisight nano I was using before, but I would say it's still not quite where it needs to be, but it's WAY closer. I have a new lens on the way to test to help with the vertical FOV. We'll see how that goes.
      4:3 scaler does not impact the vertical FOV

      I may have cried. That camera was destroyed and lost forever. I really loved flying with that camera :)

      @@JohnEFly you need one of Houston's Limon OpenRacer frames with full cam protection.

    Can you upload raw files somewhere? Link in description?

    • @JohnEFly
      @JohnEFly  3 роки тому +2

      I could, but keep a couple things in mind. The raw file is not fully 720p because of a bug in shark byte 4:3 scaler. It'll look much better saved in proper 720p. Also the actual in-goggle feed is not compressed with MPEG like the DVR, so the actual raw DVR is always worse than what you actually see in the goggles. I can tell you that personally the DVR looks good, but it honestly looked much better in the goggles.
