I built one with the new Campagnolo wireless group. To complete the experience, I picked it up in Italy, took a quick tour of the factory and got to meet the people that built it, and see the jig that was used for it. Worth every bit of it, bike, expensive, experience, priceless. I don't often like to buy version 1.0, for this I made an exception.
@Charles Man Did a bit of research after your post...his name is on it; however, it is his signature that is not. I found an instagram post from him saying he "would not sign projects that did not belong to him" and that is unfortunate. I suppose I have the last of the great icons. Finished with the campagnolo groupset it just looks so good. It’s slightly heretical to me to put shimano or sram on a beautiful Italian bike like that!
Lovely views of the Porlock Toll Road, a wonderful climb. Minehead CC on September 18 th are running their hill climb as usual up there, with the road closed. It's a double header this year, for the first time ever as there will also be a hill climb up the very steep Porlock Hill A39 in the morning.
I can remember when Nags had a clover leaf shaped cut out in the bottom bracket shell. You had to use one of those plastic tubes to protect the bearings from dirt.
BB cutouts were not uncommon on race bikes of the 1960’s, 70’s, and early 80’s. Racers typically spend more time riding in the pouring rain than most other folks, and water fills up the bb, chainstays, and part of the downtube and seatube without the drain hole in the bb. I’ve pulled the crankset from many modern carbon bikes only to have half a bucket of brackish water dump out and onto the shop floor! The cloverleaf shell was just beautiful.
Definitely a top-class supreme-constructed bike , and worth the big cash because of durability and warranty - the campagnolo groupset is important for more discussion - looks great !!!

Hope we can get some video of the rim brake versions. The G3 spoke pattern on the front wheel just doesn’t look right at all. Maybe I can find a barely used rim brake version of it on eBay in about 10 years. I won’t hesitate at all
The world seems so much better when Colnago launch a new bike. Having watched this during the heatwave (with the Air Con on overdrive) I used UA-cam's subtitles. I think the system code must have been written by an ex-Guardian typesetter. I counted at least six different spellings for Colnago [including Carnage, I'm not making this up!!].
The Ti is isanely awesome but the carbon is meh... another carbon bike. No bicycle is worth this much though as brand new Ducati Panigale costs less and the Trek carbon frames are more advanced. Much more hype here than actual substance.
I don’t see the treks as more advanced. The production process of their carbon frames is exactly identical, but the trek is made In Taiwan. No bicycle is worth that much money to YOU, but it is priced appropriately. Just because we cannot afford something does not mean that item is worth less money than the asking price.
Colnago are the Alfa Romeo of the cycling world. People buy them due to some mistaken understanding that they are buying craftsmanship, passion and Italian flare which is just nonsense.
There should be no situation where a bicycle costs as much and often times more than a Road Race or Competition based off-road motorcycle . The amount of individually machined parts that go into an engine/suspension parts, plus physics that engineers have to account for to deal with increased forces the chassis encounters require far more engineering than what a bicycle frame will ever have to endure. It’s laughable how out of control the cycling industry has gotten with respects to value for what you get.
September 18 will see a serious double header hillclimb, up the seriously steep Porlock Hill A39 in the morning and then up the Porlock Toll Road in the afternoon.
I absolutely love my V3Rs with full Campy. I have had a G3-X on order for over a year now. Wondering when the C68 gravel is coming? Should I jump over?
I was almost afraid that this super bike would be out of price reach for most of us, but after having watched the new BMC super bike video and its price sticker I am glad that at U$18.500 the Colnago remains in the mid budget domain. I would have clicked "BUY now" instantly but 6 months delivery time is way too long for this year. And next year there will be a super duper bike anyway. :)
A nice touch to offer a caliper brake option, too bad that will then mean dated levers, mechs & calipers with the latest crankset. Do Campag still offer a premium level gruppo in mechanical/rim brake format?
A buddy of mine purchased an older signed steel Colnago frame off the internet for $450 and put the Campy parts on it that he already had- he's pretty happy with that! 😏 Nice they let you ride it, though! 😁
Whew... While I'm not exactly poor, that's a lot of money for a bike... but as an owner of a mid-90's era Colnago, there is definitely a "want" there... provided the custom paint option can be an Art Decor style. I'm not really a fan of the subdued paint schemes on more recent Colnagos. I mean, it only has "Colnago" on it in maybe 4 or 5 places - unlike the 13 labels on my Master Bi-Titan.
OK I just bought the COLNAGO C68 in 53 Sloping. I’m used to 9100 11spd di2 DURA ACE on a CERVELO C5. Do I go with Campy SR EPS over 9200 di2 DURA ACE disc? I’m in Belize, so as far as warranty, I’d just be flying parts into Belize and servicing bike myself. Which group set ?
Given its ridiculous pricetag, I wonder if these sample units are being given for free already to GCN presenters as it is already used. I was waiting for Si to try the black customized Ti and hoping to hear the difference between the 2
what a stunning bike, definitely one for dreaming about, ill probably download the app and spend many hours fueling my dreams especially with the augmented reality... come on lottery win
Nice bike, very nice bike with a VERY nice price. Honestly the prices on bikes are getting ridiculous and many people are getting sucked in by technology and tiny add-ons they don't need. The tech industry is sending the world crazy. My bike is 9yrs old and works just fine thank you, once i can still get tyres and brakes for it, i will keep it, no need for all that NFT and 3D printed with a 2 dollar tool kit and definitely no need for anyone to deliver my bike at my home, thank you. Now reading this comment you all can tell I am definitely not in the position to afford this or any bike over 1499 dollars😂😂😂😥
My dream was to get a Colnago "Made in Italy" road bike, with no expense spared! I got a load of compensation, so then it was the research for what I wanted, best place to buy, etc. Obviously, I was having top of range Campagnolo Super Record EPS, Bora wheels, etc, and not that ugly, bland, awful Shima(NO!) garbage! I shopped around, got quotes, etc, with prices of over £12,000(without pedals!), but by going to see Mike at Maestro Cycles, getting some great deals on eBay, etc, I managed to build it up for about £8,500!!! Colnago are awesome bikes, and always get the jealous looks, from people who ride "Boring Clone" bikes!
This Collage C68 is super handsome. However, the Ciöcc bicycle co. in neighboring Bergamo also offers a larger selection of customized colors from road to electric bikes on all price ranges, so Ciöcc offers a better value for a top notch product but it gets its tubes from Taiwan, the owner told me.
I have 3 Colnagos and looking for another one. One thing I was waiting for you to talk about was how did the 68 ride on the road. GOOD SHOW AS ALWAYS GCN.
Thx Si, loads about the bike but nothing on what you think of the handling and feel etc vs others you own / have ridden. By admission it’s either just the same or worse perhaps? The C68 appears to be designed for ‘luxury’ as well as speed etc - but does it ride that way?
they better not stop,i am not buying any road bike with disc brakes not happening,do not like the look, added weight and braking power absolutely useless for me i barely ride in rain so its just more expensive, heavier and way more complicated with maintaince

If you've ever noticed, every Colnago model has Ernesto Colnago's signature on it, except for the C68. Mr. Colnagom has stated he only signs his projects so, is this a real Colnago?
Hi Simon. I notice you said the bike you have was size 51. I see Colnago has changed their sizing. Was this the right size for you? Is it equivalent to a size medium ? Previous colnago 52s was a medium?
Rode my first Colnago (VR3 with Zipp 505s) around Girona for 5 days. Seatpost kept dropping 1-2 cm leaving me on a child's bike.... I was still 1 cm under the "max" and put on a shitload of carbon paste. HATE integrated seatposts with my long legs.... Loved the handling, especially descending. Very stable.

Yup, I’m a c68 kind of guy, too;) Thank you for this, GCN!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow, another stellar creation! Great review thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The black looks superb awesome
😍
Atleast you can get it with rim brake
It's fab to have both options, that's for sure!
It will work well for my Z2 rides and a few intensity sessions in the week
Mind blowing! Doddy must be green with envy, haha!!
Hope we can get some video of the rim brake versions. The G3 spoke pattern on the front wheel just doesn’t look right at all. Maybe I can find a barely used rim brake version of it on eBay in about 10 years. I won’t hesitate at all
see u in a bidding war in 10 years
How beautiful is that Ti version!
None are...all are made in China and from the same carbon...spend anymore the 5gs on a bike these days and your getting rolled
The part of the bike that's ti is the head tube.. 🙄
Porlock Toll Road 👏👏👑 Hank… this is the easy way up 😂
Beautiful - right?!
@@gcn Totally!! A fitting location for that bike 👏👍
Top! Im bying
Paused the video and started laughing when I heard "NFT".
One word “STUNNING”.
Literally my phone went crazy when it heard the word titanium and my reaction was like "wait what!!!"
Such a beautiful bike. Some things are meant to be enjoyed from afar.
as an owner of a C64...I will stick with it. I can race mine and ride it and I do enjoy that twitchy nervous sensation it has.
Let me guess, it’s lighter, and more laterally stiff while being more vertically compliant.
+It's so fast it rides itself, no need to press on the pedals!
😍what a gorgeous bike.
Pure class ❤🇭🇺
It's so good....not even Pogacar will be racing on it.
A nice touch to offer a caliper brake option, too bad that will then mean dated levers, mechs & calipers with the latest crankset. Do Campag still offer a premium level gruppo in mechanical/rim brake format?
All that black one needs is a gold chain 💪🏽
That would be SO COOL!
A buddy of mine purchased an older signed steel Colnago frame off the internet for $450 and put the Campy parts on it that he already had- he's pretty happy with that! 😏 Nice they let you ride it, though! 😁
Sounds glorious! He should submit to the bike vault, would make it into the Tech Show for sure!
They should give you a FREE C68 for such a great Infomercial. The rest of us, like you said.... we'll just keep dreaming about owning one 😊 Cheers! 🍷!
Oh... And maybe I'm showing my age (52), but I really couldn't care less about the NFT thing...
Bike is a do all, and made for older folks looking for comfort. For lighter, get the V3RS, same as the pros use.
What's the price without the NFT?
It's the same, because the NFT is worthless.
It would be an honor to ride and own that bike😎 (the black one is nasty 😬)
What a great video. And bike.
it looks sick af
Given its ridiculous pricetag, I wonder if these sample units are being given for free already to GCN presenters as it is already used. I was waiting for Si to try the black customized Ti and hoping to hear the difference between the 2
what a stunning bike, definitely one for dreaming about, ill probably download the app and spend many hours fueling my dreams especially with the augmented reality... come on lottery win
Well said. You and me both.
Definitely my dream bike. But with that price, it will stay in my dreams 😂😂😂😂😂
But wouldn't you ride, climb & stop 14 times better on one of these? ; -)
@@GeekonaBike not only 14 times better, 15 times🤔🤔🤔🤭🤭🤭🙃
Looks a touch on the small side for Si.
Beauty but for me is the very definition of a purchase choice by the heart, rather than the head
My dream was to get a Colnago "Made in Italy" road bike, with no expense spared!
I got a load of compensation, so then it was the research for what I wanted, best place to buy, etc.
Obviously, I was having top of range Campagnolo Super Record EPS, Bora wheels, etc, and not that
ugly, bland, awful Shima(NO!) garbage!
I shopped around, got quotes, etc, with prices of over £12,000(without pedals!), but by going to see
Mike at Maestro Cycles, getting some great deals on eBay, etc, I managed to build it up for about
£8,500!!!
Colnago are awesome bikes, and always get the jealous looks, from people who ride "Boring Clone"
bikes!
I’m waiting for my c68 Ti. 6months lead time…..😢
I have 3 Colnagos and looking for another one. One thing I was waiting for you to talk about was how did the 68 ride on the road. GOOD SHOW AS ALWAYS GCN.
Purchased a C64 with custom paint and Super Record a few years ago. Is it upgraded time?! 🤔 So tempting.....
A great choice to have!
Nearly 20k? I’ll leave it thanks … might go get my frame resprayed in matt black with gold accents though. MUCH cheaper 🤣❤️
That would look pretty awesome!
Thx Si, loads about the bike but nothing on what you think of the handling and feel etc vs others you own / have ridden. By admission it’s either just the same or worse perhaps? The C68 appears to be designed for ‘luxury’ as well as speed etc - but does it ride that way?
Colnago! The Bees Knees! I will never ride anything but a Colnago.
You're very lucky!
if companies are still making high end bikes with rim brakes thats a good sign for the future
they better not stop,i am not buying any road bike with disc brakes not happening,do not like the look, added weight and braking power absolutely useless for me i barely ride in rain so its just more expensive, heavier and way more complicated with maintaince
Great video! Life long fan of Colnago. I'd think I'll would skip the factory rep delivery bit when getting one.
You're very lucky!
Nahh, if you can afford one then you have to go the whole way. Custom delivery would be the icing on a very nice cake.
@@kieron88ward can't have cake, diabetic... but I would go to Italy. Pick it up myself and shake the hand of it's creator!
Any word on max tire width on the standard C68 vs. the all road and gravel versions?
Chapeau to the entire Colnago team! This is a beauty on two wheels! And it’s different from anything outside there. And again, lot of innovation in this project! Beautiful work, and beautiful video GCN, glad to hear your words on this bike. Love it!
Watching this review right after Colnago released the rim brake C68 option 2 years later is nuts😂 #rimbrakedefenceforce
Beautiful looking bikes. Unfortunately need to win lottery to get one of these bad boys 😊😊
Unfortunately the same for most of us 😢
Es ist wunderschön. 🤩🤩🤩
If you've ever noticed, every Colnago model has Ernesto Colnago's signature on it, except for the C68. Mr. Colnagom has stated he only signs his projects so, is this a real Colnago?
Ernesto sold the company, hence does not put his name on a frame he had no input in.
Ernesto must have waited one more year, and delivered instead... The C69 😂
Beautiful bike. I would love to have one, but at that price I will stick with my Pinarello Prince.
A great choice all being said!
Agreed! The Colnago is a beauty, but the lines on the Pinarello are super sexy.
