С68 would only make sense if your body is weird and you need a custom length frame. But it's not better than V4RS otherwise in terms of aero or weight.
I am fortunate enough to be considering ordering a Colnago and looked at both. Ultimately I chose the C68. For me, it’s beautifully made a classic design in addition to being the more comfortable of the two as I don’t require an out and out race bike.
I've just upgraded my 14 year old Super Record 11 Speed Colnago CX-1 with a new Ultegra DI2 12 Speed Colnago V3 and totally blown away by the difference. I can only imagine either of the VR4 or C68 to be better however I would definitely choose the C68 just for it;s gorgeous paintwork :-)
54/42, right? Makes memories come back, from the times we used to use those chainrings, but hardly could get rear cogs larger than 28... That's why i now see pros spinning up some steep climbs where 40 years ago we saw the pros of those days crawling up, delivering some incredible torque. Why is nobody commenting on this? Isn't it much easier now to hit those climbs, with a 32 or 34 cog, or even larger?
Given that the geometry between the bikes is identical, do you think an amateur ride would even be able to notice the difference between the two? There is talk of more compliance etc, but enough to notice with 28mm tubeless tires?
They did a horrible job of differentiating those frames. Might not really be their fault though, given that Colnago does very little to differentiate them in their FAQ, pretty much word for word what was said in this video. Maybe it's true that bike manufacturers are stocking too many SKUs.
I swear Alex is annoying us on purpose with his color choices. There was a purple AOPW right there which would have matched the bartape perfectly but NOOOOOO of course he goes with red.
Question: WHERE did you get your Carbon Ti rotors? I cannot find any in stock anywhere in the UK. My MTB has them - and I love them - but I got them in during 20+ years in Hong Kong. I guess I can go back to get more, but in the UK - no dice. :).
I will take the C68. At least it has a plastic looking frame that has some design elements and character unlike the VR4RS (Ducati?) If Ollie could take that horrible looking pie plate off and put the original back on that would be great. Thanks! 😄
Alex geometry is not almost the same, that is the biggest key difference. Look at the head tube angle. The c68 is more stabilise while v4rs would allow to take corners real fast. The top tube shape also mimicks towards stabilising.
Love the bikes and builds 'cept for the pulley wheels and tires on the V4RS and Tires and Chain set on the C68...¨Personnally would have gone for standard durace pulleys and vittoria corsa pro speed tires.....
Hi, just to be sure. Did Alex really say at 5:28 about Ollie's bike -> 'all the technology that Campagnolo have'. He for sure meant the technology that Colnago have. ;-)). But a fully italian bike with italian components would have been nice.
Not to say that this company of halo products is now owned by Abu Dhabi in UAE. Owned by Arabs, made in china with a Japanese groupset advertised by a Slovenian teenager
I mean in the end it’s also about design and other things. There are plenty of products made in china that differ incredibly even from the same factory that you can buy as a legit item with all its benefits or as a “cheaper” illegitimate, not as nice item
The ultimate Colnago build is one with a Colnago copy/replica frame from dhgate or aliexpress etc, because for the price you can't go wrong (rather than this Dentist budget nonsense)
Which bike would you choose? 😍 Let us know 👇

Both are beautiful builds and neither would be kicked out of my garage.
Both r great but i will lean toward Alex's bike
Decisions, decisions !
C68 all day long
That spare dura ace under Nathan's kitchen sink really does get a lot of use in these videos
Whenever I see Colnago I can't help but be reminded of Wesley Snipes in the film, White Men Can't Jump - and his Colnago branded hat
Yeah I know what you mean
A fine cap! He also had a Time pedals cap too
Find out how Alex and Ollie did on GCN tomorrow!

Ollie’s bike for me any day.. but with Campagnolo 😊❤ Pete 🚴🏻👍
I love the tripeak pulley wheels.
Nice slip of the tongue on 5:26
esp given the group sets they are running lol
Hey - Tomayto, Tomahto. Campagnolo. Colnago. Wadever.
They’ve never beem the sharpest tools, just tools.
C68 is such a special piece of art, that would be my choice, overthinking that wouldn't take longer than a heartbeat.
Hahaha it's pretty great right!
Thanks Alex , Dr O , and maybe Isaac ? good luck in NYC....I hope you have time to see it ! Be safe ...

Love the holographic name and logo on Alex’s bike! Ollie’s looks like it would be more comfortable
C68 is my dream bike. So lovely.
Great looking bike right! 😍

We've done lots of content around this 👉ua-cam.com/video/J8Rag33MZlg/v-deo.html - Spinning is winning 👌
Well actually at 9:08, you can see it's a 54/40, not 42.
your very lucky to be given these tope end bikes to use for the race, what a perfect world you 2 are in
We're certainly lucky 🙌
Nobody would put Reynolds wheels on such a nice bike
Exactly!
The V4RS wins for me. Beautiful build.
That new paintjob on the V4rs is so sweet
Looks even better in person... we don't want to give these ones away 😔
I have the v4rs with campi wrl. Its awesome, love it❤
What a beautiful bike 👌
Alex, previously: why I'm ditching Dura-Ace
Alex, now: here are two bling bikes with Dura-Ace
Unfortunately these aren't Alex's... he wishes 🤣
1:27 There's something about this shot that reminds me of Top Gear and other 2000s TV
Did Campy ever cross your minds? Ya know, Italian frame with Italian components? No?
The Ferrari analogy is so well said 👏
Master art decor , most winning
5:27 I didn’t Realise Campy made bikes or was Alex still stuck in his last video????
Ngl, the 'commoner' one looks stunning.

❤both colnago bikes. Have to save money for the next years to be able to buy one😢
But i'm going to :)
It's worth saving that money 👌 Two great rigs
What, does campagnolo make colnago...?😂 5:28
You beat me to it. How did that get past Ollie, and the editors / producers?
Still love GCN though.
I caught that too. Funny.
I did a double take on this one - was waiting to see what Campy gear was on Olly’s bike!
It's all Italian right... 😉
Where can you buy them tripeak ceramic pulleys
How can you possibly be in Central park, I ride there often but I don't see any transparent bikepath deckways on top of monorails in the background!?!
ha! very good. They were riding so Zwiftly that you must have missed it! 😂
Where's the 'how we got race fit'/lab test video you referenced?
Its in the pipeline!
Watch this space 👀
Why not use the best shifting setup...which MUST be Campag on such an Italian bike!
Try setting up a Sram axs front mech on a C68 (big learning curve for me that day)
I didn’t understand the comment about going with the 11-34 for downhill flats?

Imagine those with elitewheels, would have been funny.
Could you explain your joke for my friend? He doesn't seem to get it 😂

For the love of all cycling Gods, please give that C-68 a campagnolo groupset!

The boys from old york visiting new york.
A month ago you announce a new partnership with Elite Drive wheels and here you go with Vision and Reynolds?!?!
Great bikes. Alex, how long did it take you to make those mods in the workshop? Thx
Why are the Reynolds and Vision wheels are an upgrade from the c50 Dura Ace wheels? MVP uses c50s! Its a flanders roubaix etc. winning wheelset!
Alex got carried away when he was talking about Campagnolo (instead of Colnago) :) Both are Italian and start with a C.
看起來V4RS比較適合給職業車手騎乘 空力與爬坡兼具 不需要更換車型。C68的幾何對於爬坡比較友善 非常適合給一般車友騎乘
“It’s made using a monocoque carbon fiber construction outside of Italy “. Outside of Italy in that suburb of Xiamen. Hypocrisy?
Hypercrisy.
I find it funny that Italian heritage is perceived as something good, but it’s modern Chinese one is something to hide or omit

Welcome to my hometown.
53 seems like a really small size for Ollie, why not a 55, which is likely what a size chart would show he should ride?
Colnago has different measures
£190 for pulley wheels is taking the piss
VAN RYSEL 😅
why a bigger pullie wheel is better ? what does it change ?
We've done some great videos of this 👉 ua-cam.com/video/hW5688AfB5w/v-deo.html
The one with the CAMPAGNOLO groupset and wheels of course !!!!........................So NEITHER !!!!
Why did Dr Oli choose the aero bike?
11:23 yeah that's definitely not a SLR Boost in the closeup...
Well considering there's a Ti C68 embossed with gold and diamonds for ~$200k, define: Ultimate. 😁
Central Park? Tent cities?
I couldn't find the human powered health video, is it out yet ?
Not yet, keep your eyes peeled 👀
Why the small bike frame sizes?
Both Alex and Ollie ride slightly different sized bikes 👀
Cool
5:26 campagnolo?
The " C " . Bar none .
c68 top
COLNAGO V4RS made in Taiwan whereas COLNAGO C68 hand made in Italy …… I’ll take C68 anytime ….!!
The carbon tubes for the C68 are also made in China
Comparing the bikes to Ferrari, while Enzo Ferrari said that aerodynamics is important for those who can't build engines seems legit 🤣
No Ferrari is made in the Giant bicycle factory in China….
New deal?
Ollie didn't mention that he is also considerably more intelligent thanAlex
"near identical geometry"???
“Enthusiast setup” 😂😂😂😂
8:37 snake oil!
Don't say "fastest", say 'most aerodynamic'.
Poggis secret

Best comment ever left on a youtube video.
All-white frames win every time.
The chainrings on the C68 are quite ugly. I would prefer the C68. It’s quite good looking sans the chainrings!😂
I know the pronunciation is Human-Go, but I cannot help but read it as Hu-Mango
Spot the Campagnolo mental slip.
🤤
V4RS for the pros, C68 for dentists.
I see your love affair with Campag didn't last long.
Will have to rob a bank first, I guess
How can you possibly say that the bikes have identical geometry? Look at the tube angles, reach and stack. The C68 is definitely an endurance setup.
"Made outside of Italy" A new way of saying "made in China" 😁
Yeah, Taiwan I think. Mine says designed in Italy, but I think was made in Taiwan haha. So it is.
@@sprintermaximus 😁
colnago/campa: ways too expensive !
Oversized bottom brackets, down tubes and head tubes look stupid
Think you chose the worse background for the hot or not. Lovely bikes, ugly architecture behind.
western spy squatting technique
Why not 32 or 35 mm tyres?
BB and pedals must be tightened with the bike on the floor on its wheels! The risk to crack the frame clamped on the tripod is too high!
v4rs looks like giant propel and tcr... hahahah
No! You can’t double check your torque! Then whatever you are tightening down is over tightened!
Colnago with Shimano and disc brakes isn't real Colnago. The last real Colnago was C64 rim.
GCN win a UCI race? Good luck with that. LOL 😂
prob the slowest bike in peloton, not even speaking of the brick of the c68
currently leading the Giro by nearly 8mins!
