It always takes me a couple of months to name my birds. I like to make sure the name fits the personality. She’s looking good and y’all will be slaying tree rats before long I am sure. Quality of the videos is great too. Thanks for all the headaches you go through to bring us good footage and sound!
Thanks Shawn. It is definitely a work in progress. I'm always rewatching the videos to see what adjustments I need to make - and then if I can actually remember to make those adjustments in the field!
Thanks Ken! I was on a fly-in fishing trip in Canada last year and there was a group from Kentucky there, and one was a falconer. I can't remember his name though.
@@FinsandTalonsI’ve never met him in person but, My mentor is really good friends with him. Hopefully she’ll hook me up with his second book that he’s publishing.
I'm over in the UK. I had a Harris Hawk many years ago. I always wanted a RTH. Licencing was/is a bit of a problem over here. Absolutely love the idea of trapping and training a juvenile. She's doing very well and seems settled with you.
What was trap weight vs free flight weight? Also curious about ur squirrel seasons up there. We don’t open til Oct 1, but AL where I used to fly just opened on Sat. I hope u film most ur hunts! Just subbed 👍
Thanks for the sub! Trapped at 40 oz, best weight at the moment is 36-36.5 oz. I would expect her to hunt around 37 this winter and I'll try to get her 38 oz+ next season. Squirrel and rabbit opens here on Sept 1st and closes March 10th. Our waterfowl goes in and out through the season. I'm definitely trying to film most of my hunts. I may do hunting snips from my hunts throughout the week and make one video out of it for each Sunday, we'll see how it goes!

@@FinsandTalons None of us are perfect brother, life is a work in progress. I’m flying two Harris Hawks and I can’t imagine how bad mine would be. lol
Love the video a friend of mine is licensed for birds of prey in Kentucky.. so neat to go hunting with Hawks

She’s eyeballin your Caribou Coffee. Nice video dude. Was Jeb late? 😂
Jeb is always late. 🤦🏻♂️
I'm a Texas falconer that is originally from Columbus, Ohio. I actually plan on naming my red-tail Scarlet because I'm a huge Buckeyes fan.
Heck yeah! Are you far from Gary Brewer in Texas?

I decided to take Justin's advice to check your channel out. We'll, his opinion didn't disappoint me.
Thank you for watching! I've been a Kayak Catfish fan for several years myself.
Red Tailed Hawk RTH Ruth?
Love the training videos, wish they were longer.
Thanks! Yes it's tough to decide how long to make them - some could watch hours of this and some are done after a minute lol.

You should do Harold 😂

In Greek mythology the Goddess Circe is associated with hawks. So that's my choice for the name of this beautiful raptor.
Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!
Bogey since you caught her on the golf course
I've also heard Birdie, Eagle and Bertha 😂
Bogey is my vote
Hello my new friend
What days of the week your videos are scheduled to come out

That sounds great! Feet don’t look small, that’s for sure. That’s a nice, long hawking season too. I get why you trapped early, lol.
How about the name ohio
