Completely scenfree and has all the right components of a great formula jelly texture( I know that was a mouthful). Thick without being heavy. Creamy without the silicone and jelly like without the alcohol Their calm down toner is just what my face needs. No dryness or roughness afterwards however moisturizing and dewy done just right. I pair w my slushy moisturizer and bam! Set for the day!

Stacey, how many times do you use it a week? Doea your rosasea tolerate any retinoids? I am new to this rosacea- thing , I never had problems with my skin, then all of a suddent about a month ago... boom. I am planning to try Calm Down.

@@staceygreer2207 hmmm it could be HA and Sodium PCA, I will start to look at these thank you! Vitamin C is ok for me, doesn't irritate but really afraid of exfoliants. My AM routine never irritates: water cleanse, Purito Fermented complex complex 94 essence, G&G C-glow, Cerave PM lotion, Bioderma Aquafluid Max 50+ SPF. My PM routine is where right after cleansing, I get irritation totally does not matter what I cleanse with, it looks like the water is what actually irritates it. Current PM: double cleanse, Purito Unscented serum, TO alpha arbutin + HA, azelaic acid 20% OR retinaldehyde alternate nights. Before the rosacea, it was tretinoin 4x per week.
@@agnesjuhasz7715 soundd like maybe you developed an irritation to alpha arbutin which can happen. Try to cut it out and see what happens. If it doesn't help go to your Derm. Also try adding some more soothing ingredients like Centella, mugwort green tea. I use I'm From Rice toner and Mugwort essence along with Beauty of Josean green tea serum because they don't have HA and it's in everything.

I use the Calm Down PHA one and love it! My skin definitely prefers slow n steady exfoliation. I tried Smooth Out and found it pretty strong, so I use it infrequently. Looking forward to more Geek & Gorgeous reviews! 😊

I have just received my order from G&G I live in the U.K, and it has taken 2 days to come from Hungary, amazing. My daughter and I spent over the €40 needed to get free shipping. This is my 3rd bottle of their vit c serum, it is the best serum I have ever used. I have used the very expensive ones as well as the cheaper ones, and none of them can match the G&G one. I have not yet tried G&G although you make me very interested in them. For exfoliant, I am absolutely loving the new Purito one with 7% glycolic and 2% salicylic acids. It's the perfect balance to give max strength BHA with a noticeable but not too strong level of AHA.
I'm so interested in the Calm Down. I'm already using tretinoin and vitamin C. In all getting small whiteheads and my dry sun flakes just a tiny bit. I think gentle PHA and BHA will be perfect for me. 🙂
The Cheer Up is also wonderful- so many exfoliants can be irritating, drying, or cause redness and I've not had any of those issues with G&G. Total winning brand!
I really enjoy the bha liquid from PC as well. I have a feeling now that Unilever has taken them over the prices are going to go up so the g&g may be my new go-to.

Hi Sarah i haven't tried these as yet, but have had the calm down one on my wishlist for a while. Every time I do a G&G order I never seem to be needing an exfoliant, as I use them only once a week tbh. I get a lot of cell turnover from my retinoid and azelaic acid routine, so i only exfoliate once a week -mild AHA or PHA on the perimeter and a mild BHA on the t zone is how I use them normally (currently the by Wishtrend mandelic acid or the IL PHA toner with the PC calm 1% BHA). Being used once a week means they last for months and months, so i'm not replacing them often. Best wishes.
Really enjoy the Wishtrend Mandelic Acid- the PC Calm BHA Exfoliant is also quite nice. I've found my skin tolerates most exfoliants but really love the BHA. I messed up not bringing a BHA Exfoliant up to the cabin last weekend and my skin is not happy. Also tested a new sunscreen that my skin hated so the combo of that and the BHA and my skin is really mad at me. Hopefully getting back into my normal routine will help. So much for my theory of travelling light. Just doesn't work for me!
@@NOBSBeauty Lol Sarah I haven't travelled light since my twenties (I'm 49). Too many lotions and potions required to keep my rosacea and eczema under control. Add in the meds for my various health conditions and there is nothing "light" about it. I never trial anything new on holiday, as the extra sun always plays havoc. give it a few days of normality and gentle/soothing skincare - happier skin restored. A low strength BHA keeps my pores clearer, as I use a LOT of rich creams etc. I hope your skin is more comfortable again soon. x
I was wanting to try Cheer Up once my Paula's Choice BHA is empty but Facetheory exfoliants are so much cheaper so Glycolacsal seems more attractive for that reason. Paula's Choice is a bet "eh" for me. I guess it will depend on how my skin is after getting used to adapalene - if I need something as strong as 8.5% glycolic acid

I have had amazing luck with Azelaic Acid- if you haven't tried AA I highly suggest trying it out for a few months- I was quite impressed how it helped with clarity, brighteness, and overall skin tone and health. It is also an amazing ingredient that plays well with most other actives.
There is no such a thing as fungal acne safe products therefore you really need to stop the searching. Instead look for “acne safe products”. Acne is caused by hormonal changes, stress, certain type of bacteria and ext but fungus had nothing to do with it. It’s just another marketing way some companies use to sell there products.

Ooh interesting- whenever I'm at Target I always check out the Sweet Chef in case they came out with something new- sounds interesting, I've really enjoyed most of their products, my favorite was their Latte Cleanser, which does have fragrance, but oddly no noticeable scent at all. So, i got Smooth Out, and after two months I love it so far. But, dumb question, will it help with clearing/not having blackheads too? I use it 2x a week and then the A-Game the other 3 nights a week.
Smooth Out will help, but for very stubborn blackheads I would probably go with Cheer Up because of the BHA it contains. The Smooth Out treatment is great for fine lines and anti-aging. The Cheer Up ingredients are more geared for acne prone skin, blackheads, and clearing up skin. If you don't have really tough blackheads the Smooth Out may be enough, but for a lot of them a BHA is the way to go.

I don't have a lot of blackheads, but sometime when i get 1 its the most stubborn thing to get rid of lol I dont know why. But, it gets rid of the blackhead!- it's i guess a skincare catch 22 lol. Paulas Choice BHA did nothing for me.

Love the cleanser but it doesnt remove my sunscreen so i can only use it some mornings when i want to cleanse

Yes great idea, i'm currently using Some by Mi or CosRx AHA BHA PHA (Korean products) effective but gentle enough for daily use plus it's cheaper too😉

So, i got Smooth Out, and after two months I love it so far. But, dumb question, will it help with clearing/not having blackheads too? I use it 2x a week and then the A-Game the other 3 nights a week.
Smooth Out will help, but for very stubborn blackheads I would probably go with Cheer Up because of the BHA it contains. The Smooth Out treatment is great for fine lines and anti-aging. The Cheer Up ingredients are more geared for acne prone skin, blackheads, and clearing up skin. If you don't have really tough blackheads the Smooth Out may be enough, but for a lot of them a BHA is the way to go.

I don't have a lot of blackheads, but sometime when i get 1 its the most stubborn thing to get rid of lol I dont know why. But, i found la roche posay duo effaclar to be the most powerful spot treatment i ever tried to get rid of blackheads( if u ever review it)- only thing is that is dries out your skin where you apply it so bad! But, it gets rid of the blackhead!- it's i guess a skincare catch 22 lol. Paulas Choice BHA did nothing for me.
You said the smooth out had 12% lactic acid-but it’s only 2%
