- Another method for cutting stencils is to purchase a stencil burner. In this video I will show you how to use to cut a perch and craw stencil. These will be 2d stencils but the same approach could be used on 3D vacuum formed stencils. Hope you enjoy, leave comments and consider subscribing to my channel for future videos on custom painting crankbaits.

I don't know anything about fishing but this is just the video I was looking for 🤠🤙
Great!!!!
Honestly...thank you! I got my soldering iron yesterday. I was looking everywhere for a video to teach me how to make a stencil cus yesterday I just couldn't get it right...I put your video on and plugged my iron in...and managed to make a decent first stencil!!! Thanks!
Glad it helped and thanks for watching
I have a wood burner with some different tips on it and after seeing this will be making some custom stencils. Thanks for this info!
GREAT idea should work really well. Thanks for comment
I bake and decorate custom sugar cookies (don't ask how I feel down the youtube rabbit hole all the way here lol) This video was so helpful! I think I can go ahead and purchase a stencil burner so I can make stencils for my cookies instead of buying them. Thank you for the video! An overhead camera angle may help viewers to really get a good view of the cutting but we get the gist! Awesome job.
For sure they work very well, just keep tip clean so it doesn’t drag melted plastic along. Thanks for watching
ALSO MAKE SURE THE PLASTIC IS NON-TOXIC!!
P05⁰p😊
AWESOME IDEA , Subscribed !!
Thank you
😮this is exactly what i need! Been watching vids to get some tips and idea. My,my, thank you very much!!
Glad it was helpful!
Gracias por aprender cosas nuevas 👍
Great info! tyfs! xoxo
Thank you
I think your Videos are Great !! I've been a Fly Tyier for years and I started Lure Painting a few weeks ago. Some of your first Videos did not have a good camera angle and the camera was to far away. But, that has improved, "thank you" for that change. Some of the first Videos that where to far away with bad angle, I wish you would re-do, cause they where good videos. Thanks for improving and taking the time to share you knowledge with us.
That is very true about early vids, I do plan to redo a lot of those at some point. Which ones would you recommend for me to start with? Thanks you for watching.
Great info!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm wondering if you put a piece of glass under it while tracing if it would help with cooling the burning 🤔cant hurt to try..
Or make your stencil with acetate sheets since they are thinner you would get much cleaner lines👍
I will try both in future, thanks for the input. The melting build up is something that doesn’t bother me some of these flat stencils but the cleaner the lines the better.
yes on the glass and the mil of the plastic does produce different outcomes.
Love the channel, was wanting you to paint a craw pattern on 2.5 square bill but proper direction. Meaning head of craw towards the back end of bait and incorporate claws.
Good idea havent ever done one like that. Be some time have several weeks of scheduled vids.
Can you bent Mylar with heat to have a better shape?
Great video. Does this let off any nasty fumes as mylar is a form of plastic and if you heated up any other type of plastic it would come with health warnings and probably not be recommended. I really want to create a few stencils but slightly worried about the effects on health. Can you advise if it's suitable for regular use.
No fumes that i ever noticed. No smell but I cannot advise on health warnings that may be present that i am unaware of.
can you make a video on the paint booth you made and the vent motor and such?
Yes i think i could do some sort of DIY on that just couldnt afford the time down to tear this one apart but think i could make an interesting one so be looking in 3 weeks or so.
@@greencountrycustoms8387 oh naw ... no need to tear down and rebuild. Just a minute or so to show what ya did.
I would have thought you would just free hand them mostly. What kinda brush you using?
Iwata eclipse
Which dermal tip please? Thank you
I don’t know to be honest i bought a set from harbor freight that are all really small but can’t read to sizes
Does burning the stencil produce toxic fumes, and if so how do you deal with them?
I’m sure melting plastic does to a degree but this really doesn’t even produce much smell. But i have a small fan blowing in an open garage
what the name plastic paper you use..??
There is a link in the video description. But. Any stencil material will work
How thick is that plastic?
To be honest I’m not sure, I believe i left a link in description to it from hobby lobby, its pretty thick maybe two or 3 sheets of paper thick? Just a guess if its something you need nailed done next week ill put some calipers on it.
@@greencountrycustoms8387 I ordered some 6m hopefully that will be good enough. My local Hobby Lobby doesn’t have anything that thick and they are the only hobby place near me. So I ordered some from Amazon, along with the burner
Any stencil material will be good enough I’ve. Used milk jugs before. Honesty i prefer thinner material muck easier to place on rounded edges but just really depends on the stencil design.
@@greencountrycustoms8387 yeah, I have a handful of containers, like empty packs of hooks that I’ve kept for stencil making. I was just looking for something that is a little more pliable, but still not super flimsy
To try to make a 3D stencil
I also have videos on making 3d stencils
@@jstreun36 with Mylar?
With thermal plastic. I have not used mylar
