Chris McCuaig I like the plastic ones just because I always have something to paint. I have a lot of hand carved ones but it takes a lot of time to do that. Nothing better than a carved from scratch bait. Hopefully getting some of those videos up soon!
@@BakerBuilds i hear ya there i also custom carve and paint my own cedar baits and sometimes repaint old plastics. Usually when i am waiting for the clear coats to dry on the hand carved cedar baits. If you get a chance head on over to my channel chris mccuaig on youtube. You might also like what you see in my paint jobs and hand carved cedar baits.

Thanks for this vid!! I just started trying my hand at painting my own lures. I do bbq during the warm seasons but needed a hobby in between. I beat 2 cancers and am on disability and I’ve found it important to stay busy or my mind and ptsd get the best of me!! I wanted to know if the illumalite UV can be done in a flat top coat?? I’ve seen some Megabass 110’s in flat and love the look of those and find the bass love them in stained water. Also, I couldn’t figure how to do a pattern of scales and you solved it for me!! Thanks bro jj
Awesome! As far at a flat finish, I’m not sure. I have not used any flat finish yet. Sorry about that. BBQ sounds great right now haha

I want to start making lures I have a band saw and a belt sander but I want to know what air brush you use, personally I want the iwata eclipse but it’s a bit out of my price range, the iwata neo looks good and it’s in my budget what should I choose you really seem to know what you’re doing

Im currently working on a UA-cam video for a budget friendly airbrush kit. Hopefully I will have it up soon! I have not used either one of the brushes you mentioned. I will say that you would definitely want a gravity fed/top fill airbrush. Makes switching paints a lot quicker.
Are you cutting the color with 4012?? What are you using to clear coat baits after painting and how is it holding up??
Im using the createx paint straight out of the bottle. And I'm using Alumi-UV as the finish. Absolutely love it, very durable.

You can start with repaints of ones you have or of other brands. But you can also order blanks from dinger.com , amazon, lurepartsonline.com I highly recommend cedarrunoutdoors.com also.

Don’t move or rotate bait so much when displaying.
