The irony of the boat that saved them being the boat they were supposed to be on in the first place is actually a genius ending and seeing that Mia’s bully will probably never bother her again since she saw how bad azz she was is the cherry on top. You definitely had me dying laughing at your commentary. The part that sent me the most was when Mia (or Sasha) reached for Sasha (or Mia) in the strong water current and you said “Ariel?!” I had to pause the video to laugh for a good minute. When I was about 14 or so, me and my siblings went to go watch this in theaters. I loved it, and the whole audience was gasping and jumping so much from the jumpscares. It was so fun and a big core memory now lol

Lesson from the video: If You're out on the open water with David, be a strong swimmer.
I legit cried near the end when they were pulling her out of the water and the shark almost caught her leg because that's how terrified I got, I had to pause it to get a moment. I don't like sharks like that. Watching them keep getting pulled under and chomped on is the scariest thing to see, I can only imagine what it's like to fight off a shark. Good thing I watched this movie with Zzavid cause I would not be able to do it alone.
It's become routine for me that pretty much every time I wake from a nightmare, or some other such thing starts to set me off, I come and watch your content because goddamn do you make me crack up and also feel safe again at the same time. Thank you so much for posting.

They're both mockumentary style and don't really have jumpscares to my memory. They're both reeeeeeally good.
_Lake Mungo_ is more subtle and character-driven, and I am 99% sure it's free of anything you could reasonably call a jumpscare. It is a sort of family drama/mystery centred around a nuclear (Australian) family struggling to cope with the sudden, inexplicable, and - so they think - completely unforeseeable death of the daughter of the family, Alice. But the more they dig, the more obvious it becomes to them (and us) just how little of Alice anyone in her life actually knew - and that her death was even more bizarre than first thought.
Meanwhile, _Savageland_ is highly stylized in the over-edited style of "True Crime" documentary the USA is known for. The story involves the court case of the only known survivor of a massacre - Fransisco Salazar - that wiped an entire border town off the map in a single night - 67 people down to just 1. While the idea of a single man slaughtering an entire village on his own with little to no pushback from the villagers - not to mention zero motive - is patently absurd, it seems like an open-and-shut case. Especially to the locals, who make their opinions of Salazar - and people like him - VERY well-known. Yes, this is a political film. In fact, it includes a real-life author and activist playing himself in the film! Also, the guy who plays the photographer in it is actually *the creator of Wolverine!!!* (This movie was released in 2015; Len Wein unfortunately passed away two years later in 2017.) But I digress. The first recovered clue is the one and only successful conversation with Salazar on tape, before he slipped into a "comatose" (more likely catatonic) state. The second is a roll of film - previously stashed away, hidden from the public, not even deemed admissible in court - that tells the TRUE story of what happened one night in the town of Sangre de Cristo. Or, as the locals have named it: *"Savageland".*
I hope I've done a good job "advertising" these lol. I love all your reactions, but these ones are a li'l stressful for me too lol. I have major claustrophobia. Underwater scenes in horror movies make me tense up so bad I look like Quasimodo by the end, big-ass hunchback and shit. Choking and drowning are rated some of the more painful ways to die, I believe. I'm inclined to think that's accurate. It's not only not instantaneous, but it's also not painless/could be painful in ways you might not have expected in the meantime. I want death to be like - instant, unexpected (in a good way), minimally traumatizing/messy. I feel like that's not a lot to ask, right?
