2005 Cadillac STS no start

What is happening with the Cadillac STS is 5hat when you go to start the car, the dash will go black. Then after 5-10 seconds the dash will come on but will go black again when you try to start again. This is a bypass that works that will keep your car running.

I had the same problem. It was a bad starter relay.
After I changed it everything worked fine.

Hi with that problem did your theft lock light pop up or on. If I install the switch will that take care of the theft lock issue? Please help if you can. I have th same car 05 sts.

It's a microswitch in the shifter... I had the same issue. Took 3 hours and $11 for the switch

I’m having the same problem I tried jumpstarting and nothing work. Dash would go black soon as I hit the button and then few minutes later dash is back on

My 2007 STS won't start...it is doing the same thing, only when switch to accessories mode the information center tells me the car isn't in park 🤷🏿‍♂️ but it's in park🤦🏿‍♂️...I replaced the battery and alternator is only 2 years old...Any idea🤔

Also, I am ASE certified in multiple areas including electrical/electronic ssystems. I just don't do auto/manual transmissions.
