PSA: The goal of this video is to just highlight a few of the most popular builds. There are LOTS more out there. One problem with this is you are showing how the builds look on the current trees. People are probably looking at your video to plan for the new trees. Consider making a follow up video using the skill builder on NWDB with the new trees. For example, armor breaker is at the 3rd level of hammer tree now.
@@sarphusgaming3542 Agreed! For the most part, they will all still be relevant, just slightly look a little visually. There are some weapons with completely new skills, but again, just highlighting a few common builds people can pick up and repurpose and adjust however they'd like. Thanks for watching and the comment!
I was on PC and I got sick of the chest runs, but I’m looking to come back on Xbox. Looking forward to your guides and new videos especially healing guides. Thanks.
I always say go range for new players, because expeditions are so much easier when you can attack from range. And Fire staff is very new player friendly, and I like Ice Gaunt secondary for entomb, which is great for new players when they make a mistake, as it can give u a couple of seconds to stop and think about what next.
Good choice. I have 3000 hours and that’s my main combo. Great for PvE if you’re focusing on healing and super good in PvP with riposte and being able to escape other players
@@horineesgaming7354 tbh if you wanna do a lot of damage you gotta sacrifice on the healing aspect. You could go a paladin build which is Sword and Shield and lifestaff but you’re split between damage and healing so it’s not super optimal for endgame. The hatchet/lifestaff is a super good solo leveling build though, but again in endgame you sacrifice damage or healing cause of the state split. It’s just hard to get away with both unfortunately
Thank you for this! Im a new player and really likings the bleed build. Looks so cool and fast. Does armor matter? Should i use all light? Or a medium and rest light?
Great video! All of these builds are definitely solid. If I were to add anything, I'd suggest that on any of the strength or dex based builds (all but healer or mage) you could try swapping in a greatsword as one of the weapons. It's a great weapon and it scales evenly off both STR and DEX... I wouldn't sleep on it! I also think a good beginner build that isn't featured here is Sword and Hatchet. If you have any interest in tanking, Sword is great! The most common offhand for tank is Hammer, but the hatchet is nice for leveling/soloing because you can pick up some ranged abilities. Lastly - this video shows the bow and rapier, which is definitely solid, but I also like to run with Bow/Spear. The spear has more utility with things like enfeebling skewer (massive perk if you can get it on the spear directly). And I'll swap in rain of arrows with this combo because it adds a bleed, which then also helps feeds into the spear's perks... IMO if you want to swap more evenly between Ranged and Melee damage... go Bow/Spear with a little higher Con (at least 50), but if you really want to be primarily ranged, then do bow rapier with the more defensive skills on the rapier and run lower con.
Agreed - hatchet and greatsword is amazing for both leveling and end game content. There’s too many to fit in one video! 😂 Thanks for watching and the comment!
PS: Agreed with the spear comment too - I talked about that a little bit in the Rapier PvE build, but you can drop that same setup with a bow and it’ll work great!
Yes! There’s actually two unique weapon artifacts that are set up for exactly that. The Inferno fire staff artifact, which scales off of STR. And the Abyss great axe artifact, that scales off of Intelligence. Both are perfectly set up to do exactly what you’re asking. Here’s more info on these artifacts: www.icy-veins.com/new-world/artifacts-guide
@4:23 why fire and ice? Why not fire and void? I do not necessarily like this build. Perhaps i can use some combination in gear sets? I'm missing in this game some other magic tree's like necromancer, summoner druid with earth creatures or elemental, healing druid. Could be a lot more anyway.
@iimcastro ? The video is playing in crystal clear quality with clean sound. Back in the day we would've watched it in 1p if it meant not just trusting word of mouth on the school yard 😅
for mutation dungeons do we need all kind of weapons anyway right? So does not matter what i choose, i still need to level up a bunch of them anyway right? the weapons i like are Hatchet, Rapier, Greatsword, Spear, Great Axe and Warhammer... i am just worried that spear/gs won't be just that useful beyond the solo content...maybe some people are looking for spear/great axe, spear/rapier, great axe/warhammer in dungeons? thanks
Both are great options, and I think as long as you run enfeebling skewer on your spear, you won’t have any issues finding a group. For M3s, most groups really are looking for at least on spear user for those debuffs. I think you can make it work with rapier or greatsword. Again, both great pairings with the spear!
@@Savvvo against hard bosses in mutations spear/rapier could be great because of their damage, but greatsword would really be that useful in mutations? i feel like that rapier could do more single target damage or am i wrong? sorry for all the questions, im trying to learn, i just feel like greatsword could be a great option for leveling, but when the moment to run mutation dungeons comes spear/rapier could be just a better solution with the damage that it can dish out? I am open to every tip. P.S. did you ever see a person running with great axe and warhammer in mutation dungeons? thanks
Rapier (when mastered) can do more dmg in PvE than any other weapon. Greatsword can be risky because of the 15% more dmg taken while in onslaught stance. But it can be very useful for bosses with a stamina mechanic, because the greatsword heavy attacks break stamina very quickly. But really just play what you enjoy more I'd say. Skill > Meta

Can I just used rapier hatchet for pvp and pve , or is it just a gimmicky build. I’ve never played a game like this before
You can try it out, not super common in PvP, but doesn't mean it's not viable! PvE 100% sounds good.
