You rock Dirk!! I'm not just saying that because you're my cousin. That was beautiful! Keep it up cuz.
Hey thanks so much Adam! Greatly appreciate your kind words and for checking out the video! All the best cuz!
Glad to see you back
Thanks so much, it's great to be back! I look forward to posting more soon! Let me know if you have any request for upcoming videos!
Awesome 🌈 thanks for your vid, you rock, I'm struggling with left arm only, you inspire, 🌈
Hey there, Thank you for your kind words, greatly appreciate that! I hope you're guitar journey proves to be a fun and exciting one! Let me know if I can be of any assistance, I'm happy to answer questions!
Found out about your story just a while ago and it is amazing that you're able to do what you love even with everything that life's thrown at you, and the fact that you've done a cover of my favorite song of all time made by arguably the greatest musicians to ever exist only makes it better. Not sure if you'll read this but I hope you keep on going for years to come. Also it would be awesome to see you possibly take a crack at I'm Only Sleeping. :>
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! I really appreciate you checking out the channel and taking a listen! That's awesome that this is one of your favorites, it's a great song indeed! I will certainly have to give "I'm Only Sleeping" a shot! Again, really appreciate you writing in! All the best & stay tuned for more very soon.
Hey Dirk, glad to see you're still posting content. I don't know if you remember me, but I used to post comments on your lesson videos years ago. I really admire your playing style. It's very unique and inspiring. Keep it up!
Hey Derek! What's up!? I hope you're doing well! Good to see you pop up on here! I'm way behind in my UA-cam comments, but was pleasantly surprised to see your name! Hope all is going well for you and that you're still creating! All the best!
you're so unbelievable, this might be one of my favourite things i've ever seen; the raw talent in you is beautiful
Thanks so much! Greatly appreciate your kind words!
Let me know if you have any request for upcoming Cover Challenge videos!
All the best!
You are the man! I literally got chills listening to it.
Thanks Rick! Greatly appreciate your kind words and the challenge, it was a lot of fun! Feel free to send more my way! I would have never thought to try this song otherwise and it was nice to journey into the new!
@@OneHandedGuitar You deserve countless words of praise. Ok, here’s another of my favorites. Can you do an electric version of Layla?
Hey Rick! Thank you! Oh, nice choice! I've never tried Layla, but what a great song! Consider it challenge accepted, I'll start working on it!
Talented
Thank you! Greatly appreciate you checking out the video & your kind words!
Hey i was born with erbs palsy on my right arm and seeing you play gives me even more motivation to start learning. I wanted to ask if you have any recommendations on what guitar i should start with, or whats the name of the one you're using in the video. Thank You ! 💜💜
Hi there, I'm so glad that you're motivated to start learning, that's awesome! As far as the type of guitar that I would suggest, I'd say something with "low action" (this refers to how high the strings are elevated above the neck of the guitar). It helps a lot, especially when learning if this is low. I'd stay away from super cheap guitars as they can tend to go out of tune rather easily and you don't want to be bothered with re-tuning all the time. I think they're are good options in the $200-$300ish range.
The two guitars you see in this video are:
Acoustic - Taylor 324ce (Mahogany)
Electric - 1952 Re-Issue Telecaster (Slightly Moded)
Let me know if you have any questions as you begin to dive in, I'm happy to help!
Hey I have cp and i been wanting to play gutter but I only have one functioning hand so I’m glad there’s a way to play it with one hand 🙏🏾 I’m going have to give it a try
Hi there! Awesome! I'm so glad to hear that you're going to give playing a shot! Let me know if you have any questions as you start out! All the best!
you are so genius, dude
Thanks so much, I greatly appreciate that! Let me know if you've got any request for upcoming videos!
@@OneHandedGuitar I would stay talking for hours with you first that you seem like a very kind person with a pure soul, second I see that you play the guitar hyper well as if you would feel it as part of you, and third I had already mentioned that I have a hemi-appearance I was born with that and searching and I was looking for how I can play the guitar because I knew that the electric one could be better than the microphones are very sensitive, until I found your channel after seeing you you gave me the will and I bought an electric estrocaster with volume tone two microphones and in the middle I had that finite microphone I I forgot what it's called, very happy... It lasted 2 weeks and I sold it because nothing came out, not even a freefinger I got super angry and I sold it, I wanted to copy you and I couldn't, you're a genius, a teacher🤗🤗🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@Devoureroc_gaming thanks so much, I really appreciate your kind words and for sharing your story! I’m sorry to hear of your frustrations with trying to play.. keep in mind that I’ve been at it a very long time and it took me years even to be able to play a chord. Patience is really key, if you still desire to learn I hope you’ll give it another try! Let me know if you have any questions along the way.. I’ll do my best to help out!
NOT A SHOUT MY TROKE GAVE ME DOUBLE VISION SO THE LETTERS RUN TOGETHER I ALSO PLAY GUITAR ! HANDED I PLAN ON HEARING MORE OF YOUR STORY AS I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT YOU THIS MINUTE
Hi there, awesome, I'm so glad you found the channel and are also out there proving that guitar is possible even with Limitation.
De esa forma se podría tocar algo de flamenco????
That would be cool and you probably could! Though I'm not overly familiar with that style.
Hey man is there any way you could reach out to me I'm just curious about how to go about starting to play one handed
Hi there, sure thing, I suffered 4 strokes at the age of 3 so the one handed life is all I know. I started playing guitar when I was a teenager and just never stopped. You can check out more of my story here:

If You have any technique questions feel free to let me know, I'll do the best I can to get your questions answered!
All the best!

I did some research and found that "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton is one of the hardest songs to play on Acoustic. If it's hard with two hands, I have to challenge you to play it one-handed. I have full confidence in your ability to come up with something! Thanks and I really enjoy seeing you taking on these challenges.... you are an inspiration!
Thank you for your kind words, greatly appreciate that.. and oh boy! This sounds like a fun challenge, I'll see what I can come up with!
