Gojira is huge live, many of their live performances are better than the actual studio versions, but for some reason, "The Art of dying"'s studio version is the one to check for this song. Cheers from France.🤘
I honestly think if you guys reacted to the studio version you'd dig this song a lot better. But gojira are amazing live, this just wasn't the best first live performance to show. Maybe go for where dragons dwell or even remembrance live next, those are both amazing live.
Yeah they really should've done the studio version. Live performances are pretty much alwaya gonna be pretty different from the studio recording and sometimes you just had to be there.
Gojira is famous for their amazing and lenghty outros... you guys should check out The Axe (Live at Brixton Acadamy) and the (only) live version of Where Dragons Dwell :D
You guys should really do something from their album From Mars To Sirius. In my opinion, it's still their best album, much heavier, but I tend to like death metal a lot more than prog and I'm not sure what you guys usually listen to. If you get around to it, Flying Whales and Where Dragons Dwell are my favorite songs but the whole album is great.
This version of the song is terrible. Missed the entire first verse lyrics, and the audio was kinda garbage. This is my problem with wanting to show people new songs but using the live version as a first listen. The album version is the how the song is suppose to sound, and how it was intended to sound. Live versions are great but shouldn’t be the first thing u listen to to determine your verdict. The song is great, in the studio version. Only certain song are better live, like Where dragons dwell by these guys. But it’s more for shock value anyways lol
he always doesn't sing the first verse live ..and i don't think this version is terrible ..just teh live recording is not very good ..otherwise teh performance is great especially those growls ..butthe live at garrorock or the arte tv concert sounds better
I agree, this version is not the best, the studio version does hit harder. Though I do agree about this song being a bit too long and drawn out, and I can understand why their songs has gotten shorter and more concise in their later works. A better song to react to by Gojira would be "Toxic Garbage Island", or "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe". Both songs hit hard, and aren't anywhere as long as this one (only 4 minutes roughly for both). Hell, maybe any song off of their new album, it is a great album from front to back (except for The Chant, that one is not the best to start with).
Fun fact this songs guitar tuning is open C they usually play D standard and with some songs on the the way of all flesh album the album this song is on being in drop c
The non live version is definitely better, I don’t know what it is about this particular performance but it doesn’t sound great. Mostly just the mixing probably, or how old it was.
The audio mixing in this show is terrible and this song doesn't really hit it live like it does in the studio version to me. It is a crucial song and most people's favorite from the band, but it fits better in the context of the album, it's not a song you're gonna listen everyday.
I have a hard time getting into Gojira for some reason. There songs just don’t click with me, not my cup of tea. Foreshadowing: Contagion off TDWP Zombie II EP will be a contender for track of the year and a 10/10 from both of you.
Gojira-Where dragons dwell live its epic
Wait till you see them play. This video does them no justice.

This is what i listen to when i work out for pt every morning.
Blasting this shit in the battalion gym gets everyones blood flowing.
Studio version is way better to first listen because of the sound. This live sound is not very good.

It's one of their best live performances lmao what are you on
The reason the official song is longer than live is at the end there’s a cool atmospheric part that kicks in and it’s cool
Little Easter egg about that atmospheric part in the outro. It’s actually the main riff to Esoteric Surgery just simplified and played in reverse!
@@MattJFilms oh that’s cool I heard about that and completely forgot! Thanks for reminding me
@@MattJFilms "It's actually the same riff but completely different"

God I love this band. Live is the best way to see them. Super Mario on the drums.
Dude the longest parts are the parts that I feel I don't want to stop listening to.
same here yeah

The Heaviest Matter of the Universe is what you are kinda wanna listen to

This version is sick idk what you’re hearing
@@paulatreides1354 The 2009 DVD "The Flesh Alive" is wonderful, the version of The Art Of Dying there is fantastic, the mix is excellent.

Painkiller (cover) - Death
The best cover ever made
Waiting for the "Weekly DOOM song" reaction....
You guys should react to Space Time - Gojira
BEST Métal Band Français ever ^^
The art of dying live at garrorock or the arte tv concert has a better sound
Gojira is THE SHIIIITTTTTT
Gojira: Lizard Skin live 2010
Same show as this one
Please and thanks!
You guys should react to metal band called Shrezzers, so underrated plus they Sax hehe, demure , Phoenix , reminiscent or delight by them is so good
gojira= heaviest metal band
The non live version is definitely better, I don’t know what it is about this particular performance but it doesn’t sound great. Mostly just the mixing probably, or how old it was.
nah, it is just Joe singing flat most of the time especially where double kick drop is. But also mix is trash
Certainly not their best performance, Toxic Carbage Island and Oroborus from the same concert are way better !!!

Ill never forgive you for trashing "Remembrance"- the one on the right :(
i dont know this particular band, but they seems speechless ( i mean no offense )
"that metal right there" puii
Lol u guys don’t seem to dig gojira that much I find that nuts.
Ghost iris power schism!

What songs have you heard by Gojira? Because I was the same way when I first heard them back when From Mars To Sirius had recently come out.
