Great video series. I own a Ultra Glide limited. It’s my first Harley, my first big bike. I’ve owned it for about 3 years now, all my other bikes have been metric bikes in the 4 to 5 hundred pound range. When I first got on the Limited, holy crap was that thing intimidating. I taught my wife and son how to ride on a Honda Rebel. Taught them to ride it slow first, basic stuff. I’ve been riding for 35 plus years. I watch your videos and practice in parking lots and quite roads. These big bikes are a whole different animal. But with training and practice, you can really boost your confidence, and have a hell of a lot more fun on them. Always keep in mind your never to old to learn new/ better techniques. Especially if you’ve been doing it wrong for many years. The hard part is to admit to yourself that your not as good as you thought you were. There are so much resources out there today. Watch, learn and practice. Gas is cheap accidents are not. Anyway keep up the great work Brother. Your helping people out here.

Excellent example, until folks realize the slower the speed the more skills are required to control the bike. Thank you this was a great lesson, I have been riding for 15 years. The one thing my dad thought me I've always remember "where the head goes the back will follow."
Jerry ....thanks your tips are helping me still ...25 years on the road biking . In England right now we are seeing a change ...in that city areas are about to charge more for bikes and vehicles over a certain age so for bikes if you have a carburettor you will have to pay the ulez charge of around 15 dollars per day (or every single day you leave your home to ride). This is going to take many of our loved motorcycles off the road . In England the avarage person has less than 600 Dollars in their bank Now that's a very seriously issue ...for all of us into biking . Many thanks for your tips and teaching 😊
@@motorman857 It makes a difference, even just practicing the slow races and focusing on putting your head and eyes were you want to go makes an astonishing difference. It's amazing how much less anxiety there is coming into a turn when you know what you're doing. My hope is that you eventually find somebody to start a location here in western Washington. All of your locations are so far away, that I can't afford to get the training. The money for the training appears to be well spent, but the travel costs are a deal breaker to get me and a bike over to one of those locations.
I also will be doing things differently after finding your channel! All good stuff to practice an learn.31 years on the road, two videos an learned a lot.👌👌✌✌
I've completed my MSC last June 2019 and got my DL updated. That's exactly our instructor told us to do. Until now I'm still learning U turns without touching foot to the ground.

Now I have the Dyna and just purchased a Electra glide classic 2008 with 16000 miles. Live it but it's a little different than the FXDWG. YOU'RE HELPING ME SIR. THANKS.
Man, I love these videos....Since I have been using what you teach to ride my riding is smoother, more controlled and just plain fun to have allot more control. Now I notice other riders and see exactly what you point out what NOT TO DO....and there are a bunch of them...
andrew: just found your videos, have electraglide 06 am 75 so impressed with your explanations am going to practice slow turns ect to overcome the fear factor and ride for longer. regards from australia
This is something that you should practice, even if you're used to doing u-turns regularly. I do a u-turn just about every time I park my bike, but I don't practice them from a stop. The one time I decided I wanted to do a u-turn and I wasn't moving, I wound up dropping the bike because I let myself look at the curb. I should have had plenty of space to do my usual u-turn. Fortunately, there was minimal damage and it was mostly my pride that was hurt.
Hey up! In the UK, our U turns are to the right rather than the left, so everything in this video will be mirrored. The problem I have is that, if I'm holding the foot brake, then I cant lean to the right at stop, otherwise I'd fall over. So, I'm not comfortable setting off at anything more than a gentle turn. Our roads are far narrower too, so I cant make too wide a turn and still pass my test. My instructor says to start straight, then turn, but I'd like to learn to U turn from a stop properly. I'm sure I'll get there with practice.
So Cool, You make it look so easy, then when I try it I get anxious and doesn`t look so pretty. Some days I do really well when I`m in a more agreesive riding mood, other days not so good. Haven`t gotten that consistency yet. Probably because U turns are almost never a part of a regular riding day, But I really want to get better at it. Thanks for Your awesome videos😎
I found myself in a situation where I felt I had to do a full lock turn to clear obstacles (building, pole, and another pole for an awning). I could have pulled up, backed up, duck walked etcetera , but I felt confident enough to try it. I did and made it, but I would like to know that I can do it every time and anytime I need too! I've only been riding about a year, but have 8500 miles under my belt! Thinking about taking your ride like a pro course. Your about 150 miles north of me.
I have taught myself how to ride and been having a hell of a time trying to do U turns. So, thanks a bunch my dude for having this up on youtube. I am definitely going to start practicing this.
I've been riding bikes since twelve years old ... It is good to verbalize in instruction for what I have been doing anyway. Thanks ...
In England the avarage person has less than 600 Dollars in their bank
Now that's a very seriously issue ...for all of us into biking .
Many thanks for your tips and teaching 😊
The people need to fight back against this B.S. with their votes.
He is teaching you directly from a Police Motorman’s playbook.
Yes. That's why I call it the motor officer techniques.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade The taxes, fees, and regulations in Washington state makes it very difficult to start a small business.
I literally laughed out loud when instructor Palladino started duck walking that bike.
Incredible how the sound quality has been increased in such a small period of time. On the topic - I am surprised that this exercise is not on the course of getting a motorcycle license.
cheers mate going have a go on my 2017 dyna fat bob lol.. what you said about turning your head and eye oh my god that is so true!!!! look where you want to go!!! so true!!!!! Lol "No...its on.....take the lense cover off". That was funny!!
Ha! Ha! Ha! Money back guarantee! Thanks again Motorman for showing us how to do it, and being the best Motorcyclist Ever!!!
Thanks for redoing this Jerry. Although I didn’t have an issue with the audio on the first video this is much clearer. Got to get down there and take your course, especially as I’ve pulled the trigger on a 2019 Limited.
“Lens cover...” hilarious! 😂
Your video's made me do some practice my self to hone in on my skillz. Great content
Excellent, excellent instruction! This was my worry as I just bought a new larger motorcycle. The U-turns 😢 Thank you sir!
Sure like your videos sir. Watching them about every day. I've always ridden a FXDWG, I have a 2001. Except for having a 1996 Road King. Now I have the Dyna and just purchased a Electra glide classic 2008 with 16000 miles. Live it but it's a little different than the FXDWG. YOU'RE HELPING ME SIR. THANKS.
Lol those damn lens covers!!
great video brother thank you.
Thanks. I had to sit my motorcycle exam/u turn, examiner was former Motorcycle cop. 3rd exam I passed. Here in Glasgow Scotland.
Thanks Jerry, for elping to make better, and safer, riders.
You're welcome. glad I can help.
Thank you motorman!
Great vids Jerry! Super helpful. You have great skills thanks for sharing them with all of us.👍
Man, I love these videos....Since I have been using what you teach to ride my riding is smoother, more controlled and just plain fun to have allot more control.
Excellent video. Thanks for taking the time to film and edit it and of course for positing it for our benefit. Keep up the good work! -Migs
Surely, a Gift to the Riding Community. GOD Speed!
Damm Jerry you make that look easy I am gonna go practice awesome an very Informative I appreciate you
Always learn from ur videos...but the outtakes was funny🤣👍
hahah! The lens cover! Gotta remember the lens cover. Great vid guys, Thanks.
Great Video.!.!.!
Love the out takes.!.!
Thanks so much 😊
Love the out takes!
I bought myself several collapsible traffic cones and found a parking lot to practice!
I have taught myself how to ride and been having a hell of a time trying to do U turns. So, thanks a bunch my dude for having this up on youtube. I am definitely going to start practicing this.
Thanks a lot for your lessons from Turkey 👍👍👍
Your teaching techniques are very helpful , keep up with the good info 😁😁
You two are a Kick.
I dream of U-turns as good as that... someday...
I've been riding bikes since twelve years old ... It is good to verbalize in instruction for what I have been doing anyway. Thanks ... I have a tricked out Sportster ... and as a matter of course you have to use the friction zone on a Harley ... or heavy bike ... that is how you control the bike ...
LOL, the best part was the out take at the end!
It's on, take the lens cover off... oh geez!🤣🤣🤣 that was the best part jerry
Best u-turn video on you tube, Thank you 👍
What a great Turn !!!
You make it look so easy
Glad I found you! I need these videos. Thanks for your expertise!!
