There are lots of videos of people trying to race the plaid and I always think the driver is a big factor in those races. Good prep, equal amount of HP (in relation to weight) and a tuned suspension should grant ICE the win. It think Demonology is a very good driver and those races prove it in my opinion. We should always aspire to beat those RC cars. That's all I meant brother.@@RacerX9

It has nothing to do with driving ability it has to do with figuring out what works best on your car which can take a lot of passes to perfect.

When the 2018 demon dropped, I wasn’t impressed bc it could only do 0-60 in 2.3 and 1/4 in 9.65 on a perfect surface with an absolute wheelman driving. None of that performance translates to regular road surfaces unless you mod the wheel setup.
With the 170, I give it its flowers bc it’s good at what it said it’s supposed to be good at. So I’m a fan of it.

The Tesla Plaid starting price is 108,000 . Very competive with Demon 170 prices considering dealer markups and flippers. The Lucid Air Saphire is far more sophisticated and higher performance. Even at its 250,000 dollar price tag there have already been Demon 170's selling for that or more. If the Banshee comes in with Lucid Air performance at 150K or less they will sell like hotcakes. @@djpeeps2772

The Plaidd new record is a 8.56 seconds, with a 0-60 in 1.88 seconds. For a car selling new for $89.990 and able to take a family of 4 to the mall with NO PROBLEMS is unheard of. Well we now have to wait and see if a owner of a Lucid Sapphire has the balls to gut and lighten a Sapphire so that supposedly with about a 200+ horsepower advantage can beat the Plaid record! Anyone here, besides me remember the BIG THREE CAR MANUFACTURERS horsepower battles of the late 60's to be called KING OF THE HILL, and seeing who would have the first STOCK car to dip into the 11 second range, even when using slicks? We are truly living in a great time to be a GEARHEAD!!!! It will also be quite interesting to see what the 1064 HP Corvette ZR1 will be capable of doing! An ETS C8 Corvette with a built standard motor with a twin turbo system has already clicked off a 8.64 second quarter mile at factory weight. Who will be the first UA-camr to bring us THAT DRAG RACE?

With drag slicks they will go high 8 seconds Dodge does not build this car for cornering. It is 4500 lbs and heavy. No where in the video does it say no A.C. and it is clear in the video that the back seat is not removed. Quit making excuses.

On a strip, the idea is to take a lot of those factors out of the equation and leave you with just the car and driver.

I had a better reaction time 2 of the 3 runs. The race was lost because I gave him the prepped lane all 3 races. And I probably should of charged the car to😆😆🤦🏻♂️

I think the races were BS, im all for a plaid getting beat by anything that can but the plaid was running like 9.7 and ive never seen times that slow for a plaid. I must add that the170 didnt hit 8's as promised

Racer X is fine. It's a matter of bad circumstances. It's all about that track prep. Give him that, and I guarantee you, he's got this. Just like he did when he took the win from Donkmaster with the legendary Xcesiv.
Track prep and better DA lol. Demonology would have done no better if it were on the same day and track as racerx when he races a Plaid. Plaids run 9.2s usually too so this demon isn't doing anything remarkable and it had every advantage.

The Plaid uses just under 3% charge for a 1/4 mile pass. So a little more than a few.

@@cranky1812 Given a "few" typically means 3 it is not getting performance/percentage lock whatever that means at 91%. Head over to Hagerty and watch the Lucid Sapphire race a Demon 170, at around the 15th succesive 1/4 mile run it was going about 0.15 second slower over the quarter, than the first 10 (between 9.0 and 9.1). The Plaid would see similiar drop-off perhaps around 0.15 more.
@@GDM22 so as the runs go on it will drop and eventually not fast enough to compete. Demon will remain pretty much consistent and improve as the day goes on with track temperature dropping offering better grip.
For few runs Tesla is ok but not for multiple runs throughout the day.
Yes the Teslas are stupid quick, but it takes practically zero talent to drive one to it's best ET. Driving an ICE car to it's best ET takes experience and talent.
Well it sure as hell takes talent and courage (maybe a little craziness) to pedal down through wheelies...

Teslas are just an average joe poor mans quick car. It speaks volumes about the experience and driving engagement a real sports car brings u that an EV can NEVER. Ive been inside a tesla and is just doesnt feel like ur in something special. Its so dull and plain jane. It has no luxury. My buddy lets me drive his targa gts porsche time to time and oh my god, bro. The engine. The revs the downshifts. All the people checking out the car. Its insane. The noise alone is what makes me want to drive it over and over again. Best way to describe it is. Speeding in a tesla is like having sex with earplugs in. Only ur body feels it.( Except for the terrible wind noise in the cabin from poor sound isolation.) Real sports cars hit and fill ur entire senses. The rumbling of the engine the visceral special occasion it feels like everytime ur in it. Cant be matched. Theres a reason no youtuber that's loaded gets a tesla .. no rappers no athletes .. hell even type in "only fans girls car" girls w $ don't even like tesla. It's just for average Joe's to finally feel like hot shit on the road.

No one was paying 140k and the ones that did lost over 70k in value in under 7 months. Telsa had to reduced the price to 89k. The used market is selling them in the low 60s on autolist. Insane.
