Why wouldn’t you just install the GM hitch that is specifically made to go just behind the removable access panel/cover which is directly above this hitch that was installed in the video? Then you can cover the hitch when not in use vs having an always exposed after market hitch. I assume that’s the proper height for the hitch as well. Plus the GM factory hitch comes with the wiring harness built onto the hitch and also can be hidden with the access panel/cover when the hitch isn’t in use. I just had the factory hitch installed yesterday. Love that I can cover it like it’s not there when not in use.
One good reason. The OEM hitch is more expensive. The aftermarket hitch like the Curt # C77FR is mostly concealed once installed with only the receiver tube being visible from the rear. The hitch crossbar is concealed behind the bumper, so it's a pretty good compromise for folks that don't like the appearance of a hitch but are on a budget. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Chevrolet/Equinox/2024/C77FR.html
@@etrailer I understand that. The OEM hitch was $562 after tax, shipped to and installed at the dealer. So yeah, a little more expensive but I’m guessing an install for one of your $200 hitch assemblies is at least a couple hundred bucks. I like the OEM because when you stand at the side of the equinox at the back bumper you can’t see any part of the hitch until you install the ball mount assembly because it’s recessed into the bumper cover with just enough room to get the pin in.
I saw a comment on a site for this that said it was really low to the ground and had a lot of drag. It doesn’t look that low to me though. Has anyone had a problem like that?
Once the Curt # C98CR is installed, you'll have just about 10 inches of clearance under the hitch. We haven't received any complaints about limited ground clearance. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/CURT/C98CR.html
@@etraileryou're in denial. You guys bought a bunch of stock and have to offload it so you're defending the terrible design of these hitches. Give the customers what they want. You guys offer hidden "oem style" hitches for plenty of other vehicles. Give us one for the 2023 Equinox please.

Fair enough, you're more than welcome to go with the OEM option then.
@etrailer they sit too low and look terrible. Not practical as soon as you put the slightest amount of weight on it.
