Thank you for this innovative and exciting research. I was a nonsmoking 45 year old healthy, low risk woman diagnosed with NSCLC adenocarcinoma Stage 1a this year. Nodule found incidentally on Chest CT by chance. Lobectomy saved my life and hopefully I won’t have a reoccurrence. However, if it turns out I have some genetic mutation, I can envision this AI-driven research can help my children get screened someday in the chance I have passed something on that has some genetic link. Im looking forward to watching this develop. Thank you!

In 1988 at age 42 EARLY DETECTION SAVE MY LIFE. DONT PUT IT OFF
I was not going to post here until I heard the section on criteria for screening, age 50 and substantial smoking. (btw I already did quite a long post on another video by this channel on bladder cancer. Anyway in 1988 I at age 42 I had a cold that persisted and one day out with the dog I had some mucous come up and spit it and it landed onto new layer of white snow and I saw bright red blood no thicker than sewing thread. I had never coughed up blood before. I went to my doctor and he sent for chest x-ray, another one just 2 months prior. After the x-ray while waiting in waiting room the technician asked me to come in for a redo.. remember in 1988 it was film and frames being slid in and out of the machine. He said he wanted to compare the first with another to make sure it was not a result of the film development spot but on the lung itself and it was on the lung. Just a spot about the size of a dime. Next day my primary doctor sent me for a Cat Scan and back then a chest scan took almost and hour vs. 10 minutes now. Next day I was sent to a pulmonologist and he said immediately I had a malignant tumor in the lower lobe of the right lung and it has to come out. There was no discussion of chemo or radiation and what did I know at 42. Over the next 6 days they did testing of other organs to see if there was traces of the cancer spreading before they would bother to take out the lung. There was no evidence of spread so I met with a surgeon over lunch and he made a drawing on a napkin to show what he was going to do and how it is done and that it could not wait a few weeks. That was a Friday and Monday I had the 7 hour total right lung pneumonectomy. I had surgery only to this day with no radiation or chemo and no recurrence of lung cancer, I still take scans annually. My pulmonologist now said in this day and age they would never have taken the entire lung out, the larger lung on the right with 3 lobes. And she read the report I had from 1988. There was speculation only in the report that the cancer likely worked its way up through the fissure?? and better to be safe than sorry. SO everyone , EARLY DETECTION SAVED MY LIFE and I am now 76 and doing fine. I did smoke cigarettes occasionally

Since it’s open source could someone who is a machine learning engineer make use of it to run a family member’s low dose CT scan data through it for experimental purposes or does it need to be running during the scan itself in real time or require input of some non-standard file that most low dose CT scans wouldn’t come with?
