Good old Mick Jagger, showing up to live gigs higher than a kite. Mind you, most of the audience was probably high, too, so they probably didn't notice. Gotta love the 70's!
Fish Repellant You edited your post! Now it looks like I'm smoking something, lol. You said "gotta love the 80s." I guess I was smoking something in the 80s...in the 70s too, for that matter. Right, only sober people cared if they didn't play well. When Mick moved around so much he'd sound like that. Just watched a 1990 video and it was similar, and he wasn't on drugs. It's all that running around. Watch the Fort Worth, TX 1978 show; it looks like he's got cocaine eyes, but he sounds good there. He's not running around there, and it was hot as hell in there because it was 100 degrees outside and no air conditioning.
Fish Repellant The only retards are the ones who can't say, "Oops, I fucked up." Any of the concerts I've seen, including 1990 (no drugs), where he stands still he sounds better. He wasn't much of a druggy by Keith's standards, but if he drank _and_ moved around, he'd have less energy. In 1976 this year he's singing Fool To Cry well because he's at the keyboards, and that song he sings high. Keith complained in an interview that he wished Mick would "just stand still and sing!" Mick got it in his head in the early 60s that moving around, jumping, dancing, etc. was the way to go. He liked watching others do...Little Richard, Elvis, James Brown, Tina Turner...those shakers...so he did, though took it further in the 70s by lying down, tumbling, swinging across the stage on a rope (first to do that, I believe). So it goes...At least when he sings badly you know he's not lip-syncing like some of these dancers today. There was just an article about this very video titled "See if you can figure out what language Mick Jagger is singing in here." dangerousminds.net/comments/see_if_you_can_figure_out_what_language_mick_jagger
