just wanna say i dont think US users have much to complain about, take a look at the options in NZ for instance, no google pixel, no vivo, no xiaomi flagship, we have 3 options Apple, Samsung and Oppo.. you can get a oneplus 12 like i did but the 13 isn't available to me here so went with a 12, therefore seeing US users complain about storage availability is wild lol
@@srobeck77 It being a slower speed is just a given because it's older. It having no benefits is patently false, especially for things like gaming and possibly AI. Depending on what you do with your phone, it can very well be worth it. Personally, my S23U is often using almost 6GB just on standby. There are multiple factors as to why, but the point is that 12GB of RAM doesn't give me much overhead long-term.
Here in the Philippines, the S23 Ultra 256GB trade-in value is only $365, and the price of the S25 Ultra is $1400 for the 256GB/512GB versions. My feeds show Samsung users choosing the OnePlus 13 or the Vivo X200 Pro instead of the S25 Ultra.
This year, I went with the Oneplus 13. Last year, I felt like the Oneplus 12 was better than the Ultra, but the curved screen was annoying, and I experienced a lot of palm touches. The 13 is killing it.
As a galaxy note fan for over 10years, having upgraded every year on year expect past couple years, this video speaks to my soul. Especially the downgrading of S-Pen. Why on earth would you remove tech that is already mature, helpful, impressive, unique, useful and loved!? Who cares how many people are using it? If it positicely differentiates your product, why on earth remove it!?
I decided to move from the S24 Ultra to the OnePlus 13. I ordered it today and I have sold my S24 Ultra. I bought it at a discount, and I sold it and recouped most of my money for it. OnePlus did a great job with the 13. I would've liked the 24GB of RAM and 1TB from Giztop's website, but the price was too steep for me.
And I'm moving from OnePlus to samsung with buying the s25. OnePlus has a massive lack of features compared to Samsung. Idk why you would downgrade like that. Op only focusses on the most recent model, after that they f*ck everything up with the updates
@@rickvdsommen I don't understand how I downgraded. The OnePlus 13 has the same processor as the S25 Ultra, OnePlus has a larger battery, it has the slider to silence the phone, the IR blaster, and 16GB of RAM. The S24, I mean the S25 Ultra has only 12GB of RAM, software with Ai I don't care about, same cameras (except the ultra wide angle lens, don't care), the S Pen with no Bluetooth, and is more expensive than the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13 512GB was under $900 with any phone trade in. The S25 Ultra 512gb with no trade in was under $1,400. Why am I paying for more money for an S25 Ultra that's supposed to be the best phone when the OnePlus 13 has more features? The S Pen is not the deal maker for Samsung and its high price.
@@izziereal2010 as i said; OxygenOS lacks so many software features compared to OneUi. Didn't say anything about hardware. My OnePlus got worse and worse after every major os upgrade.
I received better trade-in offers when upgrading from my S22 Ultra 256 GB to my current S24 Ultra 1 TB than what I’m being offered to downgrade from my S24 Ultra 1 TB to an S25 Ultra 1 TB. Yes... downgrade. It seems Northern Europe gets the worst trade-in offers.
Arguments to argue that ACTUALLY might make sense -new(ISH) design that changes the feel of the phone -screen --chip THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE THE PRICE TAG! THIS PHONE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RELEASED. What this phone needed. -THE INCLUSION OF QI2 WIRELESS CHARGING WITHOUT A CASE (WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?) -ram upgrade - S pen upgrades to include features for all android apps and "barrel roll" drawing features. -camera bit-rate upgrades -battery life
I kind of agree with Jerry Rig. If my S23 ultra is working fantastic, why should I upgrade? I mean S25 ultra is not going to run Xbox console games. Nor it can run full Windows desktop apps like Photoshop. First, phones should not cost 1000$ at all. Its a scam. Second, if companies are charging 1000$ phone, the phones better be able to run full desktop version Premier Pro or console games. The point is, phones are easily last over 5 years or more. Do not get scammed by phone companies and upgrade phone each year. Better invest that money in other tech.
Yeah frankly you could get too pretty amazing phones for the price of one s25 ultra. Like you could grab a s23 ultra and a pixel 7 pro brand new 512 GB from woot. Or a renewed pixel 8 pro and an s24 ultra. Or a OnePlus 12 and a pixel 9 I would rather do that frankly since then you can have a separate work phone or a backup phone. Just something to use while you're charging your other device Especially if you're an enthusiast that's already shopping phones at this price point I think having an excellent second five or $600 phone Or you could just keep your s24 ultra and take the 450 500 you were going to spend after your trade in and go buy a pixel 8 pro renewed as a backup or a moto razor or something.
@StevealiciousTech its free for like 6 months or something when u get the phone to try out the features butnthen u have to pay once the subscription ends
@@WeakestArmwrestler not even all markets so be careful. Just found out today that users in Japan need to pay subscription from day one if they want those features.
Expose their hypocrisy! China sure does have competition. Unlike north America where we have 50% apple and 25% samsung marketshare. There all the manufacturers split the pie with 15%
Also appreciate you speaking as a fan for the consumer on the disappointments presented by the brand (specifically Samsung in this example). I dont have a trade in offer to bank on, so in looking to get phones for both my lady and myself, I'm looking to One + 13 and managed to miss the availability on the watches at the incentives phase of the launch and clearly underestimated the demand when I thought I could sleep on it one night after a looongg night that ended with taking too long to offer a last round of attempts to be presented with a reason not. Didnt even end up getting any decent sleep and woke up to a reason to at best actually second guess the value or at least, presumably carry the rare regret of resisting FOMO. Anyway. Great content.
Don't forget Samsung stuck to 2024 battery tech instead of the newer Si-C stacked batteries which are more energy dense and degrade slower ......for a phone they claim to support for SEVEN years. I guess they're hoping you'll pay them for a battery replacement down the line, or even better, trade your S25 in for an S27.
Thanks for that. That is a very important point that I never even knew about and makes me even happier about my decision to buy a OnePlus 13 instead of something from Samsung.
But when it's tech in an area that really shakes up the game (e.g. battery tech), I would expect a gigacorp like Samsung to do their intel on it's development and try to acquire it early. Guess they were all too busy coming into the office on weekends (because the company was in crisis) instead of doing their jobs.
As an old Samsung buyer when Sammy was an innovator and still gave very good value for money , does anyone remember the Galaxy S5 , it had IP 68 and still had a swappable battery , plus it had all the usual old time Galaxy features , SD card , 3.5mm Headphone jack, all the accessories in the box , Sammy made good long lasting phones with all the bells and whistles, my buddy just recently bought a new phone to replace his S7 edge , which was another old style bells and whistles model. This constant cost cutting by Samsung removing features and accessories is why a a lot of old timer Galaxy buyers jumped ship to other brands( me included).
You absolutely correct Although I ordered the S25 Ultra I must acknowledge that the Vivo X200 Pro, Oppo Find X8 Pro, Honor Magic7 Pro offer more than Samsung. However we have to import them, and they don't offer trade-ins, nor does anyone take them as trade-ins. If those chinese phones start officially selling here in USA it will be over for Samsung.
That's the main thing... I had a one plus 7t and it was the only phone I actually ever liked. I Def one of have gotten a one plus 13 if I didn't know it's value would drop like a rock within 12 months and I wouldn't get crap for trade in
You are a man after my own heart❤❤@00:55 I've been screaming the same thing from the top of my lungs thank you for mentioning that why give up another four or five hundred dollars for to me which is essentially a downgrade no more Bluetooth functionality on the s pin
First thing I noticed about the pre-orders is that none of them are selling out. Not even the 1TB version which I normally get. Usually, this one sells out quickly. Holding with my S24U 1TB and Bluetooth S-pen. Thanks, Samsung for making it an easier decision to NOT trade-in and save $500 after all the incentives. $500 is still $500 and I'll spend that elsewhere.
Agreed with everything you state. They've stagnated hoping you're stuck in their walled-garden like Apple; Samsung Pass, Health, Buds and Watch that only work with full capabilities with a Samsung phone, etc And they're banking on support? They charge restocking fees, inability to return if you've opened it, attrocious repair claims process, always trying to weasel out of providing valid warranty work, etc...
And Primus help you if you want to get one of their lame exclusive variants (be it a color or the 1TB) on monthly payments. Their financing sounds scammy as hell.
Thanks for pointing this out! All these influencers out there finding excuses to cheer this "upgrade"! Only other thing mentionable is IR blaster! ;-) Sadly, I feel that you'll have to be back with another video like this in six months for the Fold/Flip line.
Let’s not for get removable nibs for the S pen with soft and hard varieties in the box with a tool to remove them , , the SD card , the headphone jack, the heart rate sensor , the dedicated eye scanner , the dedicated LED notification light , all the accessories in the box , my old note 4 had a UV sensor to measure how severe the suns rays were , it also had IR blaster iirc. Samsung these days just seems happy to coast along with the least amount of features and accessories it can. I miss the Samsung of old.
To all apologists about the s-pen downgrade, an analogy. If you go to the store and buy an umbrella, do you expect to have to use that umbrella every day afterward? Stevealicious is right to call bunk on that excuse...
An iPhone user, but never scared to swap for 12 months. I've had the original Galaxy, then the S6 Edge, then the S10 Plus in ceramic, then Note 7 which was great but got recalled, then Note 10 Plus, then S22 Ultra. I've had HTC, LG, Sony also. Of course many iphones, on 15 Pro now. The Sony too narrow, didn't like at all. The HTC M7 was awesome with front firing speakers, I doubt today's phones keep up with that regarding clarity. I'm sure I would have jumped ship again to Samsung this year, I was in touching distance for S24 Ultra, sad I didn't upgrade then. The Upgrade Programme, Samsung Flex, Samsung Club all taken away in UK, no upgrade cycle any longer. Samsung getting like iPhone, releasing phones with hardly any improvement. In fact, some would say Samsung have actually downgraded. All these phones, Samsung, Sony Apple offering no charger or incentive in box. Just shows the hypocrisy in one respect, pre order the Samsung you'll get a free charger, free wireless charger, free buds 3 all shipped later. So they're surely using even more packaging. Apple, you will get no incentive no matter what. I'm fancying the One Plus now, I just like your advice. Is there an eco system with watch, buds, tablet, PC, tags, homepod all working together? Thank you.
Yeah, pretty accurate. I think samsung is going through it at the moment. If it thinks cutting corners and offering flimsy hardware updates for its phones is the route to take, then it's going to be trafic for the company. I mean, Sony/Ericsson tragic. I own fold 6. It feels sometimes that samsung doesn't pay attention to customers of the z folds. For a device that costs 1800 usd, having to deal with Late software updates and just general lack of support is criminal. If something doesn't change in the next fold, im trading my phone for a pixel or for an iPhone.
I sold my S24 after realizing Samsung UI wasn't enough to keep my loyalty. The tech matters as well, and this time around I have a Oneplus 13R and not only did I get a great return value in trade ins, and promos, but the specs and the UI are buttery smooth. And it's not the flagship model. S25ultra feels like another "AI" year and that's isn't enough for the price tag associated with "flagship" phones.
I have been using Samsung phones ever since the Note 3 and this year when I wanted to upgrage I looked at what they were offering compared to the competion and it was laughable, especially their prices for the value and features you get. I ended up ordering a OnePlus 13 with included aramid fibre case and 80 watt fast charger as well as a free upgrade to 16 gb of ram and 512 gb of memory. They also offer (in Canada) a 150 dollars bonus for trading in just about any old device. So, with all that, plus the huge 6000 mah battery with 80 watt fast charging, the IP69 rating plus so much more and the huge amount of money I saved over buying even an older or renewed Samsung phone it was really a no-brainer. Goodbye Samsung...........probably forever.
I love the way you talk. Totally true with what you said in this video. I personally can not buy a $1000+ phone, nor do I want to spend that much. Thank you for being honest and reviewing all classes of phones.
I bought the OnePlus 13 (24 Gb RAM + 1 TB), loved it so far, I think ya'll should go for it, much better phone at a lower price. Super smooth, great UI, only think a little annoying was the big camera bump
I still use my s9 plus as my main phone, i have countless other phones ive collected but i still use this one, and i will continue to for atleast another year, as im not happy with the route samsung is going. Im literally thinking of upgrading to the note 20 ultra just because of its expandable storage.
Have you head about the news going around about Samsung sneaking back the bluetooth spen as a separate product ? Quite a way to grab even more money if true
Wanted to Upgrade my Dads Note 20 Ultra to S25 Ultra but his most favourite Feature of his Note 20 Ultra is the Spen that he uses to take pictures so definately wont get him the S 25 Ultra. Big L move Samsung.
I've finally turned. This iteration of the S series has finally turned me over to the Pixel side. I started off on the wrong foot with Samsung when I bought my S22 which has an abysmal battery life and an inefficient processor and it's only gotten worse 3 years in. I'm giving Samsung a break for a few years and giving Pixel a go. I'll be buying my new Pixel 9 Pro in a few days. When Samsung bring something a bit more exciting to the table with the S26, 27, etc. I might re-consider but for now I'm team Pixel.
I got a Note 9 as my first Android phone. Great hardware except for the terrible curved screen, and the storage wasn't great if you got the cheaper option. I still have issues with its software often being so slow and laggy that it's almost unusable. Samsung, of course, said there was nothing wrong, even though I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with the flash storage on my unit. After getting burn-in and the back coming off, alongside terrible battery life, I upgraded to an S23 Ultra. I'm starting to regret it though because the back already came off (I replaced the adhesive myself) and the battery life is all over the place, and it's started lagging recently too, amongst other problems. I'm sick of phones in general (especially Samsung and Apple's crap) but if I get another, I'll probably buy Oppo's next foldable. My brother got the Find N2 (OnePlus Open) and it's great. Blows Samsung's phones, even their foldables, out of the water. Too bad ColorOS sucks though.
Keep up the outrage and a voice of reason! For me, buying a second hand S24U and selling my Pixel 8 Pro and buying an S25U is hardly any difference. Only reason why.
I agree with sentiment of this video , I loved the Samsung of old that threw everything but the kitchen sink into its phones. If I read out all the features on my 6+ year old Galaxy note 9 , and the all the accessories that came with the phone , it just makes all the recent high end galaxy models look like poverty models in so many ways. These current models may be good phones , but they are not featured like older Galaxy models . As for the S pen being cheapened with a feature taken away , this is the second time the Samsung razor gang has struck ! Older Galaxy notes used to come with spare nibs with soft and hard varieties and a tool to remove them ! Samsung these days takes every possible feature it can away to make its unit price cheaper to build . To me the whole point of buying the best phone with every possible feature is not about how many times I will use all those features , but it is in fact the convenience of having them there for when I decide I want to use them. And this is why I stopped buying Samsung galaxys. I let the note 10 go because I thought headphone jack may come back in the next model , alas it was all down hill from there , because not long after we lost all the accessories that came with the Samsung phones , then it was the SD card , and it goes on and on . Once upon a time , the pixels were always the lower equipped models , but I can buy a pixel over the counter base pro model with 16 GB of ram . The S25 may be a decent phone , even a good phone , but it is no Galaxy note of old. And this is again why I do not buy Samsung these days.
Preciate the point about the nuances of the discounts offerings per generation relating directly to the offerings actual tech jump and value base of the generational offerings. I've been having the same sort of conclusion my way. Glad to see somebody share the observation on a platform.
The fact that the have removed so many features as theyve jacked the price from 799 to 1399 over the years...ive just about given up on samsung...removable batteries, ir blaster, bluetooth s pen, releasing the same hw in the cameras, screen, size, and functionality i just cant support a company giving us so much less while charging absolute top dollar...meanwhile you have xiaomi, vivo x200, nubia z70 ultra, oppo find 8 ultra...all these phones are dropping with the snapdragon 8 elite, no hole punch cameras, custom oled screens, and a bevy of features all for 699-799, it just makes no sense to pay these prices for whats become a generic android phone in my opinion
Oh man you are so raw, the point you made at 2:50 is so damn right. We dont really get hit by the price to features ratio on these new smartphones because all are paying the minimum 30 or 50 or 80$ per month only. Thats why people fail to see many other phones that offer superior features for less price and get stuck in iphone/samsung phones and bein completely oblivious to the fact that they are paying more than 1500$ for less features.
I was about to pre order s25 ultra and after seeing your s25 and oneplus video i switched to oneplus 13 at the last moment. I actually was about to press the final buy button on samsung website and i backed out. Ordered oneplus 13 and since i am in India the oneplus has great service centres for it.
It's true....They give you a fantastic trade in offer but only if you live in America. Here in the UK the trade in offer is £540 for the S24 Ultra /512....Your S24 Ultra + £700 to have the S25 Ultra.....Would you trade in your S24 Ultra? Just asking.....
There's always a catch. There's no way 900$ discount 512 plus 80$ credit with a trade inn for nothing. People are sometimes purposely blind. People have the power to sway these companies and representatives to change thier tune.
You do get some things more. Free Galaxy Buds 3, 5% off if using the Shop app, 25% more off if you use the Live. Then after purchase, leave a review & get £125 in accessories. Get anything else, 30% off all. Add your trade in, would be good value if it had the stuff they've not taken away.
@CarlWiganerUK Through the app: 1. No 5% discount. 2. No free Galaxy buds 3. I had to pay £111 (30% discount). 3. Using the code APSS25 at the checkout I got 10% discount only....That's it. The final price for the 1TB model is £1214.10 down from £1549. If I add a trade in, I will get another £540 discount on my Galaxy S24 Ultra/512 and still have to pay an additional £674.10.
If they had more competition here. I think they all are working together. The Pixel 6 was the absolute worst. I found it odd it wasn't more publicized. Nothing they promised was in the phone. The only way i got it to fast charge i had to leave wifi on at night that way my phone would have a full charge the next day. After i moved to the S23 ultra i watched when the next one came out people started complaining again. What happened i started seeing people swearing that phone was flawless the comments were flooded with all this positive feed back. They worked for google or were paid. When i had the pixel i would send tech the issues no responses. Now here we go again the pixel of Samsung. I was about to update probably not now.
I'm switching to the Rog 9 pro for the 24gb of RAM. The Samsung s24 just didn't have enough RAM to work with some of the small ai llm models I wanted to run locally on the phone.
I actually could have sort of understood them taking away the Bluetooth connection for S pen if it was for magnetic wireless charging and new battery technology but they didn’t do that! iPhone 16 Pro and S25 ultra are two of the most lazy updates ever! I’ll be keeping last years models. Pixel 9 series and oneplus 13 are great upgrades from last year by comparison!
Oneplus is looking more tempting, especially if there are six years of security updates now. The increased cost of the SD elite is BS. All the Chinese phones seem to have kept the same price. That's why we need more competition in the US market. Samsung can't compete in the Asian or European markets when they have more phone options. Samsung isn't stupid in pricing and deals. You are right, the trade in might be better this year because they know they aren't going to sell the s25 series well.
I love your channel man. i have the z fold 6. I like it but not love. Battery and cameras are something i miss. Would upgrade from the z fold to the s25 ultra?
Thanks for this video; I totally agree. Samsung really cheaped out by not giving the world the 16GB RAM variant and a 6000mAh Si/C battery. I'd even spend the extra for a 24GB RAM/2TB variant; they've had 16GB RAM/1TB storage since the S21 Ultra (4 years ago). They could drop the internal S Pen too, and just make it an external accessory with a case like on the S21 Ultra, that people can buy if they want it (maybe 5% of Galaxy S Ultra users). I'm tempted by the OnePlus 13 global version but hate that they've limited the 24GB RAM/1TB storage version to China only. Globally we only get 16GB RAM/512GB storage. I'd instantly buy the Xiaomi 15 Pro global version 16GB RAM/1TB storage, though they haven't announced it yet and even if they do, rumours have it that they're also only offering a 512GB storage model globally. It's just a shame the Chinese versions don't have all of the bands for other countries, don't support eSIM, and may have issues with Google Wallet and Android Auto.
Yep .. you make good points. Yeah I find it unbelievable they haven't upgraded at least one camera on the 25 or the 25 plus or battery or something it's the 24S model I guess. I've got a Galaxy S9 that I've kept and it's still I mean it's a beautiful phone I don't know what happened to Samsung they're designers ...what happened to them, did they fire them all and we just keep the same design forever.
Only ever had 2 phone companies in my life for over 15 years. They both at the times were are the top of the innovation food chain. That's HTC and Samsung. When HTC fell off switched to Samsung, and it seems it's soon time to switch to number 3. Any good ideas?
So what you're saying is a major corporation is focused on profits? Say what?!? Consumers have choices, they can either buy or not buy. No one is twisting their arms. Yeesh.
thanks for making this video. I have same frustrations as you and I am a sucker for the s pen 🖊. I paid 1300 for upgrade after trading in. I knew I had to do it because my s24 ultra was heating up very often these days and I had to. But I'm a very unhappy customer feeling most of the Ultra I know has been stripped to being just a normal phone 😢

Yes, thank you! I had been subconsciously thinking the same thing after watching those other phone/tech UA-camrs. I was surprised how many of the video reviews for the S25U seemed inordinately and uncharacteristically glowing for this phone or at least for the trade-ins associated with it. And maybe for the first time ever, I questioned their impartiality, especially if they had affiliate links in their descriptions (not that having those links, by itself, is a problem). Are you a critical reviewer (for us) or a media sales rep (for the phone company)?

Samsung needs, like a company that has been on the market for more than 60 years, to understand that people do not want features taken away from the Samsung Ultra. - Include 24 GB of RAM. - Include the best processor with a fan; I do not need water resistance; I want the best gaming and most capable multitasking phone. - Put everything at the top. - Include a headphone jack. - Include the best stereo speakers. - Make it slightly water-resistant to prevent damage from accidental drops in water. Make a pen with even more functions, such as adding a microphone, camera, etc. Be creative. Then, I will not need a trade-in deal; I will pay $1300 because I will know I am purchasing the best of the best.
You know I'm a Samsung Stan but this is accurate. They've been taking away features for a long time imo and even though I don't mind paying for AI (i still dont have to on the s23 ultra) they hava been taking away features (like the micro sd card slot, headphone jack) for a long time now however. What would you see samsung do for the s25 ultra as an immidate fix? Most users on average do not uss the a pen not even for picture taking which was a nice feature i thought.
Nice video, I just buy what I want to use and keep it until it no longer keeps up with my tasks, frankly I could careless about what an influencer or anyone else for that matter thinks if it. I find myself much happier making my own decisions 👍
I only upgraded from the S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra for the 4K output. the S23 was slaved to 1080p. But after reading the specs of the S25, I was not excited at all. And NOTHING was done to improve the Dex experience which is what they should really be pushing because iPhone users left in droves to get the Dex experience. But nope....some iPhone exec invited Samsung exec to a pool party and got them to agree on the status quo approach and VIOLA! We have the S25! Good going Samsung, If OnePlus EVER goes that route (Dex-like interface)? I'm gone. I still have my OnePlus 9 Pro btw....and love that phone.

Yeah, i really wonder why they chose to decrease the ram.

I'm getting Oppo X8 Pro in the same situation. And I'm Samsung fan since S21U times...
Too bad
As a galaxy note fan for over 10years, having upgraded every year on year expect past couple years, this video speaks to my soul. Especially the downgrading of S-Pen. Why on earth would you remove tech that is already mature, helpful, impressive, unique, useful and loved!? Who cares how many people are using it? If it positicely differentiates your product, why on earth remove it!?
I stopped upgrading after the Note20..I jumpt ship to Pixel. I jumped ship after Pixel8 pro.. resting peacefully with OP13
Is the camera bad like they say it to be?
@@Akramism I find the Pixel implementation a little cleaner compared to OP.
For general use, i dont see much difference
Just pity the round cameras are ugly .... Round cameras look like poor people phone
@@GallAnonim-jx2cz every camera lens round tho 😂
Dumb SPen and no 16 Gigs meant I DIDN'T switch to an S25 Ultra . If Samsung doesn't make some big changes for 2026 IM OUT !
In China zero trade in offers. That's why Samsung has 0.01% market share here 😢
Arguments to argue that ACTUALLY might make sense
-new(ISH) design that changes the feel of the phone
-screen

THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE THE PRICE TAG! THIS PHONE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RELEASED.
What this phone needed.
-THE INCLUSION OF QI2 WIRELESS CHARGING WITHOUT A CASE (WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?)
-ram upgrade
- S pen upgrades to include features for all android apps and "barrel roll" drawing features.
-camera bit-rate upgrades
-battery life
I have no idea where you came from but I’m glad you did… Need more honest tech people like you!
Just something to use while you're charging your other device
Especially if you're an enthusiast that's already shopping phones at this price point I think having an excellent second five or $600 phone
Or you could just keep your s24 ultra and take the 450 500 you were going to spend after your trade in and go buy a pixel 8 pro renewed as a backup or a moto razor or something.
... Or buy some groceries! 😅
No one mentioning the AI featuers are subscription based?
That's pretty bad, too!
@StevealiciousTech its free for like 6 months or something when u get the phone to try out the features butnthen u have to pay once the subscription ends
😢@@WeakestArmwrestler
Not all AI features.
These specs are locked in in advance...sticking to 2024 tech for a 2025 launch is not unheard of.
Oooh! You had me at "swappable battery"!
Samsung needs to drop they're prices on Ultra Phones. They're Folds are expensive enough for them to bring down candy bar phones.
I agree. In comparison to the fold and the flip, after all the losses it's not really Ultra variant at the moment
The old S21 Ultra has 16gb RAM. That's why I am still hanging on to it.
Wow did not know
You absolutely correct Although I ordered the S25 Ultra I must acknowledge that the Vivo X200 Pro, Oppo Find X8 Pro, Honor Magic7 Pro offer more than Samsung.
They've stagnated hoping you're stuck in their walled-garden like Apple; Samsung Pass, Health, Buds and Watch that only work with full capabilities with a Samsung phone, etc
And they're banking on support? They charge restocking fees, inability to return if you've opened it, attrocious repair claims process, always trying to weasel out of providing valid warranty work, etc...
And Primus help you if you want to get one of their lame exclusive variants (be it a color or the 1TB) on monthly payments. Their financing sounds scammy as hell.
Thanks for pointing this out!
All these influencers out there finding excuses to cheer this "upgrade"!
Only other thing mentionable is IR blaster! ;-)
Sadly, I feel that you'll have to be back with another video like this in six months for the Fold/Flip line.
Finally am honest review. I'm done with Samsung. I'll keep my s24 then I break free.
S25 is just a s24 with a new chip.
All the new features are software
You're completely right. Samsung did an apple move....
To all apologists about the s-pen downgrade, an analogy. If you go to the store and buy an umbrella, do you expect to have to use that umbrella every day afterward? Stevealicious is right to call bunk on that excuse...
Steve is giving us the Truth unlike some other well known UA-cam Tech Enthusiasts!!! You all know who I mean😊
Yep Mkbhd, the most overrated so called tech UA-camr

I don't watch Samsung reviews on UA-cam because they are the most bias people, dogging Apple because Samsung is giving them money.
@@mrkring1526He wasn't too impressed with the S25 Ultra either.
Samsung continues to give less for more. I'm just not buying the hype.
one of the reasons i went with Oneplus is the option i could get here in NZ was 512gb/16gb ram and thought that was worth the price
I appreciate it!
Apparently, they are selling a Bluetooth pen for the s25 in the UK. In Australia, we get the 16g, but the ultra costs us nearly $3k Australian
So, I think that was a listing mistake, from what I've seen, that wasn't entirely accurate.
It's not a Bluetooth version. I see on UA-cam and contacted the seller. The phone itself no longer supports the S-Pen Bluetooth functions.
I bought the OnePlus 13 (24 Gb RAM + 1 TB), loved it so far, I think ya'll should go for it, much better phone at a lower price. Super smooth, great UI, only think a little annoying was the big camera bump
Does anyone remember what happened to HTC Blackberry and Nokia?
Sorry, can't help you. Did you check your desk drawer, where my HTC, BlackBerry and Nokia phones are? 😄
So, turns out that was a mistake...but yes, if true, that would've been bad.
You’re phenomenal!! Thanks for honest review and calling it like it is. Subscribed & liked
Wanted to Upgrade my Dads Note 20 Ultra to S25 Ultra but his most favourite Feature of his Note 20 Ultra is the Spen that he uses to take pictures so definately wont get him the S 25 Ultra.
Big L move Samsung.
On a suppert page they're going to sell the BT S Pen separately
Brovo sir for speaking up 👏🏼👏🏼 glad you're not on Samsung's payroll like these other phone reviewers
Thanks!
Keep up the outrage and a voice of reason! For me, buying a second hand S24U and selling my Pixel 8 Pro and buying an S25U is hardly any difference. Only reason why.
+1 Bro... you are One Hundred percent Correct, no innovation Happened, even S Pen sucks Now.
Bingo! Great observations!
If Android (or whatever that nonsense is called) would just switch to iPhones we wouldn't be having this problem
Also havibg 45W fast charging for years is being left behind.
Preciate the point about the nuances of the discounts offerings per generation relating directly to the offerings actual tech jump and value base of the generational offerings. I've been having the same sort of conclusion my way. Glad to see somebody share the observation on a platform.
Definitely!
I appreciate it!
Nope!
There's always a catch. There's no way 900$ discount 512 plus 80$ credit with a trade inn for nothing. People are sometimes purposely blind. People have the power to sway these companies and representatives to change thier tune.

Watching this from my newly bought oneplus 13.
On that gorgeous screen!
Finally someone giving Samsung what for!!!
If you think xiaomi, vivo, oppo doesn't have support? See the update schedule from them.
It got very good in 2024
Oh, yeah, that was my point, definitely improved and getting better. I don't think it's a negative anymore.
Samsung you screwed up big time in the U.S. no Bluetooth S pen and no upgrades towards ram.
WHAT ABOUT BATTERY SPACE
Silicon carbon battery are smaller and 6000mah fit in phones a lot smaller than samsungs
TM Roh turned Samsung into Apple.
You nailed it again !!
Thanks!
Yep .. you make good points.
Not yet! At least not in the US, but that's a good point...HTC kinda had the same arc as Samsung is on.
You've no clue how happy i am to hear you say all this. Ive had to unsubscribe, many of my favorite youtuverse out of losing respect for them over this launch. Some may say thats a little extreme but to me if I can't trust you I shouldn't watch you. I am Samsung fan myself. You wouldn't believe me by reading some of my comments. Yet i know they can do better. I know we the customers deserve better. Thanks for keeping it 💯 Steve. Much respect 🙏 🫡
I appreciate it! And yes, I'm a fan, which is why I'm disappointed.
@@JLajosI fully understand. Tbh I stepped away from my #1 favorite youtuber. I was watching him in disbelief. I couldn't believe this person I had nothing but RESPECT for was acting like this was the best damn phone, with great cameras? Not to mention It was his 1st year going to unpacked also.

Excellent review, I'm glad you're calling out Samsung. I have the OnePlus open and can't wait for the OnePlus open 2.🥰
Hi Steve, can Ram Plus help with performance
No
Samsung is starting to slide down a giant slope if they don't wake up.
This is very well spoken. If my Pixel 9 Pro XL has 16 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S25 Ultra certainly should, and probably the S25 Plus. Good points made.
Your video is expressing why I will be keeping my Note 9 another year. I have typed before that when someone offers a phone with a full 7.00-inch screen that does NOT fold with 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and a built-in stylist for $1,000, I will upgrade. How does a person in the United States buy a cell phone from another country...On the Internet? I wonder how long my Note 9 will last...
Thank you so much, this is one more reason to hang on to my S21 Ultra, since it sports 16GB RAM.
Oppo findx8 pro blows s25 ultra away but Mrs wants Samsung and better to have same phones (language barrier if a problem with phones-thailand)
Just more reasons why i ditched Sammy. OnePlus 13 for the W 🤣!
Region locking model is not cool in my book.
Not at all!
So these models on giztop from China and other countries, do they work over here in America with our network?
s24u and z fold 6 was returned and replaced with oneplus 12 and oneplus open! much better value! also bought a moto thinkphone new for $400.00 and moto g stylus 2024 for $249.99 brand new! stylus does pretty much the same for me then s24u for 1k savings! samsung has gotten greedy and lazy! s25u to me is same ultra rewashed for the last 3 years! i used to be a samsung fan but now a oneplus and moto fan! tired of paying outrages prices for same phone year over year!!
I'm thinking about returning the S25 Ultra.
Steve, so S25 Ultra or One Plus 13 or too soon?
I think OnePlus 13 or if you're a Sammy fan, the S25+ or older S24U.
@StevealiciousTech why not the s25 ultra, if you're a sammy fan?
@@StevealiciousTech is there no advantage of the S25 Ultra over the One plus 13 (if price weren't considered)
You, Flossy Carter , and The Tech Preacher are the only reviewers I trust.
I appreciate it! I was glad to get around to watching Flossy's video and see he agrees. I knew he would!
OnePlus 13 is 10x better for cheaper 🤷
I'm getting the s24u tomorrow(coming from the a71 which i used for 4-5 years) and its my last Samsung. Might try apple after.
Great to see someone saying how it is...too many big name tech youtubers are being too nice .I have the s24 ultra and won't be upgrading.
Nor should you!
I literally agree with every single thing you've said in this video not one thing I disagree with 💯💯💯💯🎯
Samsung needs, like a company that has been on the market for more than 60 years, to understand that people do not want features taken away from the Samsung Ultra.
Always the best way to go..
