A shop vacuum set to blow the lines is better than an air compressor. Ensure skimmer is free of water and add antifreeze below and above the Gizzmo. Also, leave the water on top of the cover. A pump will freeze and crack. The water will help keep the cover down when windy
I have used a shop vac for 20 years without any problems (and I live in Canada which freezes). You will see the water pour out. I am careful which you have to be with any blower.
We also use a shop vac to blow out the return lines and skimmer lines from the filter side then vacuum out any remaining water in the skimmer basket. Also add rv antifreeze tall lines as an added precaution.
So I have an above ground pool and I heard you mention getting a cover for the skimmer but what should I do with the return hole. I imagine I still need to disconnect the sand filter but wouldn't I need a plug for the return hole or no.
ave had an above ground pool for 30+ years . Never put in a pool pillow. Have never had any ice problems. I lower the water l evel just below the "plumbing".

Could you do a video on options for blowing lines during closing? Compressor vs Shop Vac, where to hook up, etc…
Hi Guys, have you done a video on pool leak detection? Would love to see it seems to come up a lot with my friends

Any ideas on why the spillway keeps sucking all the water away? I have to keep filling the troth everyday
How much psi do I need for an air compressor? Would the blower on a shop vac be sufficient to blow out the lines on an inground pool?
10-30 psi

Shop vac will work for skimmer and returns, but not strong enough to blow out a main drain if you have one
